No SRF Friends Group (link to list in OP)

Yes!

Online racing with quick, like-minded folks is always fun. During the week, I'm online sporatically. On weekends, I try to be around during late mornings or afternoons. Unfortunately, the hotter it gets, the more I'd rather be poolside with the dog.

If y'all aren't hosting something and I'm in a room, it's usually a variable PP stock street cars with SS or lower tires, or GT500 with some other folks on my friends list. Pop in! Pretty much everyone in those rooms knows what brakes are, and how to hold a line through a corner. Some of those guys are quick, and most use wheels.

I promise not to put anyone who beat my TT times into the dirt. Much.

Hope PD sort the lines out for the next TT's.

I think the missing lines are part of the fallout from attempting to fix their starting position.
They now start from the start/finish line for me. But only from people who have improved their time since the fix.
I have no line from @FordMKIVJ5 at La Sarthe for example.

Same on the Nurb TT. No line from @Sum1s2pid, as that time was set pre fix.

However, that does not explain why you can't see my line at La Sarthe!! which I set post fix

Yes, thats strange, I think there might be more issues than just the starting position.
I have experienced some friends lines not appearing in past TTs too.
Not to mention ghosts from my saved replays that are invisible before these TTs.

If by New York you mean the GTAcademy National Finals (?) then yes, there will be a lot of racing in the game. As far as I'm aware it makes up the majority of the day, with a few extra real driving, fitness and mental/physical agility tests.

Cheers man, you praise me too much though. There are people out there way faster than me- @SileightyCyrus beat me in the GTAcademy qualifier by almost half a second.

I feel like I've been behind on you other challenges though...the way I see it, we have different styles that may end up serving us better in certain situations. With another car and another track, I wouldn't be surprised to be half second behind you, sir!

So you don't feel so specially singled out :sly:, would have also mentioned @SW__10,...
and a couple of other's trons for the La Sarthe TT, but PD has seen to it that their lines are gone.

Now I only have 4 tron lines visible from "disappeared" ghosts on La Sarthe of on my FR LB. :odd:
2 of those 4 are you and @SleightyCyrus, and you're the fastest at the moment.

Ah! I must have missed some stuff, I thought I was the only one with these issues! Some of my friends are not appearing on my friend's leaderboard as well..

I will have to find you sir! I haven't raced online since the Forza years. If you guys see me online, please feel free to extend an invitation. I will probably end up accidentally crashing into someone, and commit ritual harakiri.

This was more of a challenge. Heavy brake zones and No ABS means I was painting the track My gold lap I even put a wheel on the grass up the hill to turn 2 (Remus?) Took several laps to get from 1m31 first lap to getting under the gold standard. Those blue lines were from cars that were murdering me on the straights!
In the end my best lap I managed to avoid cutting the white line for the pit lane entry (So basically I missed the apex by a solid 3 yards at least!) But maybe that set me up for a better final corner?
And what a great paint chip!
I had Botanical Green (Jaguar) and this new one was just underneath it on my paint list (Metallic 01)- and a good BRG spec Dark Green it is too- Extra Happy.

Beat gold on first lap - so obviously too much car. Car felt very lumbering end of the lap it came alive but I'm no great fan of this pretty vague track. Happy to have done a lap - and what a duff paint chip. I don't want my car to look like a Panzer.

All Cars were stock - Brake Bias set to 5/5(Stock!) ABS=0 TCS=0 And BSI=0

The rubber grips I ordered for my pedals arrived just now......

That should stop the foot slippage. :D

Thank you very much gentlemen! They sent me an interview sheet, and I'm mentioning the No SRF thread...

They asked me what I did to prepare, and I mentioned the No SRF group as the reason I had the confidence to try, and how I kept my skills sharp!

Cool. But it looks like I'll have to switch to a more competitive car now! or start an anything-but-2J group.

I like the anything-but-2j idea! I threw on a 2j tune and bought that hilarious car, and ended up with a ridiculous time my first flawed lap.

I know there is a no assist stick and clutch thread too...but what if...

We had some kind of master thread, with perhaps a different type of exclusion we can vote on per different TT, or perhaps multiple exclusions...(This is a random thought that is exploding from my brain while I am pretending to work)

For instance, with this current TT, a no 2j exclusion totally makes sense...

With the Ascari, a no KTM exclusion...

Or even a no MR exclusion, or a time period exclusion, or, or, or, or...

Sorry for the annoying triple periods suggesting there is more to come...

Good idea!

How about we use this thread? Pick, say, five cars per TT and we post our times?
or everyone picks a car which creates the list and we posts times?

My X-Bow tune if any of you are interested.

@SW__10's tune ^ rocks, (Asari OP updated) it improved my times...
...my paddle time is only about a sec behind his C/MT time...
...so I only feel slightly retarded now.

@SileightyCyrus, good idea about the exclusion runs.
Have seen some pretty damn good times with TS030 on RBR too.

I have posted a list of stock/semi-stock cars below tunes section for RBR OP.
@SW__10 did 1:26.7xx using MT/C for RE Amemiya RX7 '06 with @praiano63 tune + turbo...
...so it maybe a good alternate car for those using paddles. :dopey:

Anyone with wheel that has clutch/H-shifter...
...welcome to participate on my clutch seasonal thread. :)

Just ran to get gold on the latest time trials, none of them really interests me. I absolutely hate Ascari and any "Racing Car" time trial around 600pp is always just a 2J fest.

Think I got a fairly good time in the MKIV at RBR though, especially seeing as I was using my Le Mans set up.

I noticed you used the MKIV at RBR :). I would be interested in your Le Mans set up, if you are willing to share.

Even though you hate Ascari, feel free to have a go with my X-Bow tune (link in my last post ^).
I would be interested to see what time you could get out of it 👍.

All it basically is is just minimum downforce and tall gearing (the actual gearing used IRL). I'm not good at setting cars up, I just fiddle around until they're driveable.

Transmission is set as:
1st: 2.32
2nd: 1.69
3rd: 1.29
4th: Need to look this one up, IRL it's direct drive, but I think it's something like 0.975 on my setup, otherwise you hit the limiter on the Mulsanne.

Final Drive: 2.500

Suspension is pretty stock, just ARBs raised to 5-5 and both damper settings at 4-2. 0 camber and toe.

Diff is set at 8-50-28 IIRC.

Might give it a shot, but I try to avoid Ascari as much as possible.

____________________________________________________________
EDIT:

Ok just checked and 4th is set at 0.950. If you set to 1.00 (direct drive) you get less of a drop in revs, but you max out at 204mph, with it set to 0.950 you get 208mph. Ridiculous really, considering the car is capable of 220mph in real life.

Diff should be 15-50-28.

But I like quite a locked diff, so that may not suit everyone. 👍

For full effect run with "Sports Hard" tyres, no ABS and brake balance 1-0.

@FordMKIVJ5,
Nice times with the cars, thanks for sharing tune! 👍
Will try the Ford for my RBR clutch run. :)

Is @SileightyCyrus there?

To be honest I'd shorten the F/D if I were you for RBR. Take the F/D to around 3.000 or so, otherwise you will barely use 4th and will bog massively out of the hairpin.

In other news I tried @SW__10's tune for the X-Bow at Ascari and set a 2:06.774 on after around an hour or so with a few changes. Should have been a much better lap but I botched the last sector up, especially the penultimate corner.

I'll be honest and say that the setup did not suit my driving style, it was too much on a knifepoint for me. I'm quite aggressive with the controls on entry, so I tend to favour a slight initial understeer so I can really chuck the car in, made these changes and it suited me much better, also stupidly did an oil change so had to drop the sports manifold and limit to 92% :dopey::

Suspension

LSD 12/46/24

Is @SileightyCyrus there?

Just had my first two races, qualified third and then second, but ended up second place both races. You have to see the second one I did, apparently the announcers were pretty excited!
