R35 Nissan GT-R V-Spec (Stock) - 7.22.910

I could knock 5 second's off that time with a super clean lap, but to go significantly quicker I would need so much practice with this car/track combination the game would quit being fun, and that's what it's all about right?

I'll also have a look at tuning.

Just had another crack with the AMG SL65 to improve the time.

STOCK TIER 3

Mercedes AMG SL65 8'10.750

I have noticed that the actual time when crossing the line was 8'10.753, but for some reason the final time gets rounded down to the nearest zero with all my times. Does this happen for everyone?

STOCK TIER 2

Lotus Elise 111R 8'39.720

14.00 class
Audi RS4....13.97.....6.52,630
in a race

Now its on the leaderboards so no one have to speculate is it real or not.No cutting corners, that way you only get slower on Ring.
Thank you.

ZONDA R!
u post it on liste andy?

sorry seven8v, left my laptop with the leaderboard on at work! I'm getting it back this afternoon. I'll update the board as soon as I get it back 👍

Tier 4

Koenigsegg CCX - 7:48.460. :odd:
Bugatti Veyron - 7:17.180

Uhm, yeah. I need to re-address this tune (CCX) for the store, this thing is scary as 🤬 (and I'm not using the "S" word there, either) to drive on the 'Ring.

I tried for the life of me to get a clean lap in for the GT3RSR, but every time on the back straight, coming up the hill at the crest, the front end hops and I get DQ'd. Probably would have had a mid 7's run too. anyone have the same thing happen?

Am I missing something here?

In TT mode the timing starts before the start of the lap, so how is it possible to have these times in either TT or Race? Shouldn't it be one or the other?

Oh yes, many times! It's so frustrating when you get all that way round, then get DQ'd.

Are those cars stock by the way?

Interesting point Biggles, I hope EVERYONE is using TT mode?

Otherwise every time record is null and void.

I hadn't noticed Biggles, I never have the HUD up when I'm playing (except the bit which tells me what gear I'm in!!!). I'll amend the post to say time attack only, I'm pretty sure that's what people have been using. Please correct me otherwise

Just tried the SL65 AMG in Race mode from a standing start and my first lap was a cruisy 10 seconds better than my best Time Attack lap, an 8'01.421, stock and unmodified.

All of my times have been run in Time Attack mode.

My time with the Corvette was driven in TT-Mode and the Maserati-time in Race-Mode. In TT-Mode you lose 4-5 seconds to Race-Mode. ;)

Ok, the answer seems clear. You can run in solo race mode (no drafting) or TT mode as stated, however, you'd be silly to do TT mode as you'll be much slower!!! If anyone beats their time, I'm happy to update it on the board, I'm off to try all mine again on race mode instead of time attack!!

EDIT: I'm thinking of having a change of format for this thread due to the considerable interest in it. I was thinking of making this race modified only (4.00, 6.00, 10.00, 14.00 and unrestricted) and showing only the top 10 or 15 times in each class to save space on the leaderboard.

For stock cars I was thinking of a 'beat the real life time' challenge where we have a leaderboard of the fastest time for each car in the game and, where available, a comparison to the quickest life done by the car in real life. We can see how much quicker we are in NFS than the worlds best drivers are in real life. This would be in a seperate thread. Let me know what you think.

After the last patch for the PS3, in the timeattack mde, the stopwatch starts right when you're given the control of the car, which is always quite a bit before hitting the START/FINISH line but on the subsequent lap(s), the timing should work accordingly (start and stop at the line). So right now the best way to get the right time at Nordschleife (since the time limit allows only for a single lap at the track) is to do 2 lap RACE (the first for warmup and the second for the proper lap) or a one lap standing start.

I know when setting my R35 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec time the stop watch was already gone 10 seconds by the time I crossed the Start/Finish line.

and then in the second lap, you miss for example the first corner, and then....?
you will restart again?? :banghead: :D

sure, i will not do that!

That's from a standing start in a one lap race, seven seconds quicker than my time trial lap.

At most you lose one second over a rolling start, which IMO can be gained back over one flying lap. If you do two race laps and treat the first lap as a preperation lap, you risk losing the concentration and adrenalin needed for your flying lap, negating the one second gained from a flying start.

Try left foot braking on any tricky high speed corner, you may lose a couple of mph, but that's better than risking crashing when your on a good lap.

Once you've put in your banker lap you can then see how little braking you can get away with when trying to improve your time.
