Mazda rx8 - 8,31.040 3 lapper, crashed in 2 first laps :ouch: but did a clean lap in 3rd lap :)

Check post #13 Andy 👍

I think you're right Biggles. It's not even just the death thing (although that is quite important too). For the T4 cars that are worth upwards of a million dollars I would expect that the drivers would be instructed to drive in a fashion which would in no way endanger the car. That they would be up to a minute slower than some bloke in a video game doesn't necessarily mean that the physics are bad, simply that the situation is different.

Anyway, a few more times:

Volkswagen Golf: 9:01.32

BMW M3 E92: 8:10.56

Dodge Challenger: 8:23.63

Nissan 370Z: 8:24.03

Falken Ford Mustang: 7:22.58

Nissan GTR R35: 7:31.15

Chevrolet Camaro: 8:02.09

I was very surprised with the car. I was expecting classic American muscle car, big and heavy and prone to wallowing all over the place. But while you can feel the weight the car is just beautifully in control the whole time. It feels very sedate compared to some of the cars in this game. Very relaxing to drive, very recommended if you want something to wind down.

Lotus Exige: 8.03.781

Way below the RL time. :indiff:

Aston Martin DB9 Coupe: 7.43.910

Not doing to well on the "flying laps" - always seem to crash the car on the second lap! :ouch:

Board updated, looking good, we have a record for nearly every car for people to aim at.

Rounding out a few more of the empty times. Then it'll be time to start working on upping the speed a bit.

Audi RS4: 8:03.84

BMW M3 E36: 8:40.52

Ford Shelby GT500: 8:10.25

Mazda RX7: 8:27.11

Lamborghini Murcielago: 7:23.97

Nissan GTR R35 VSpec: 7:22.69

None of these were particularly fast, I just wanted a solid time to use as a starting point for improvement.

Updated, we now have a full board so times for everyone to aim at 👍

Lamborghini Murcielago - 7:27.747
About 4 seconds slower than the record time here. Sorry no pic. Its the first time I am driving with ABS off, I have no clue how hard to press the pedal
My first post on gtplanet :)

I set that lap first drive of the day, 2nd lap of a 2 lap race... so hopefully still some time left for me to come chase you down :D

Try the Carrera GT... super fast and nice to drive too.

Welcome to GTPlanet gtreddy, hope you enjoy it here. There's some very quick drivers here so 3s off on your first attempt is pretty good going, keep it up 👍

Just minor bits taken off times here and there. It's getting harder and harder to compete with some of the times set. Which makes it all the more fun I say. Still plenty of stuff that can go lots faster though...

Honda Civic: 9:00.44

Infiniti G35: 8:25.69

Nissan 2000GTR: 9:29.38

Dodge Viper: 7:27.34

Audi R8 LMS: 7:00.55

I have a new appreciation for the stock e92 M3.
I did a total of 5 laps with 3 opponents and really enjoyed it. As long as you brake early and work with the weight transfer it does exactly what you want. I just wish my wheel was a bit more precise with this game.
My best time was 8:02.600 and the worst was 8:09 something. :)

Since I'm driving BMW tonight...

I posted an 8:20.71 but there were a lot of mistakes in even the best out of three laps.
This car is so hard to figure out. You really have to anticipate way ahead to set up for each corner.

I drive this car to and from work everyday in real life (all back roads of course!) and don't find it nearly so wallowy. Of course I'm not driving it quite so hard either!

I just wonder why the Shift laps times fall so far behind the real life lap times for this car? :odd:

Which car is that Manny? I can update the board then 👍

Thanks guys, board updated.

Yeah! I got the slowest time still standing! Slow cars Rule!

Not so sir, I see at least 2 times slower than yours (240sx and 2000gt skyline)! Anyway, its up to someone to beat it or you'll stay there!!

Dgiant2000,

I may have messed you up. I think mr_VOLCANO has the BMW e92 M3 record with 7:54.5
I have the BMW e46 M3 record with 8:20.71

All these M3's are confusing aren't they! ;)

Thank you DGiant.

Here's another time

Corvette Z06: 7:30.250

I tried to improve my time in the Murcielago by giving it 3 more laps but came up 2 tenths short

Damn, that's a hot time Mr Volcano!

You aint kiddin!

I just did three laps in the e92 M3. The first was messy, but the last two were pretty tight with the best time being 8:00.220. I must be misreading several of these corners to lose 6 seconds...

I'd be interested to see how other people run the course actually. I'm thinking of choosing a relatively neutral and slower car, probably the Camaro or RS4, and actually making the effort to upload a video. Then if other people want to do the same we can compare lines and braking points and maybe find faster ways around the track.

Still, 6 seconds over the course of 8 minutes is pretty minimal really. I'm still trying to decide what constitutes reasonable variation over a track that long, but my gut instinct says that if you're lapping within 3 to 5 seconds it's basically the same time. Keen to hear what others think though.

Had to work pretty hard (around 10 laps) to beat Imari's Audi R8 LMS time

Audi R8 LMS - 6:59.78

I then did about 5 laps with the much slower WRX Sti. Had a small off track excursion on my fastest lap, so I have at least 2-3 seconds left in me

Subaru Imreza WRX Sti - 8:10.77
