You aint kiddin!

I just did three laps in the e92 M3. The first was messy, but the last two were pretty tight with the best time being 8:00.220. I must be misreading several of these corners to lose 6 seconds...

I pushed like crazy in the E92 M3 and came up with a 8:04.28, 10 seconds off Mr_Volcano's time :ouch:

BMW e46 ; 8.07.970 RL laptime is so quick  sorry no picture, but if needed I can do it again :sly:
Thanks for kind words above :) 👍

You've got to be joking... in a stock e46 M3?
Let me guess... You are actually from Finland and your real name is Kimi...

Mate, if you can do 7:54 in the E92 I believe you can do 8:07 in the E46. But still, a staggering time.

Yeah stock e46 👍
I can try again tomorrow and get a picture then ;) 👍

I am from Norway and my name is Petter Solberg :sly:

Here's a few more that I've racked up over the last few days. I'm finding it hard to get smooth laps in with the T4/Super cars, the visceral experience of driving them in Shift is so great that it gets me all twitchy and nervous. I'm sure they can go faster, I'm just being too rough with them.

BMW 135i: 8:29.83

Nissan Silvia S15: 8:19.16

Porsche Cayman: 7:58.86

Aston Martin Vantage: 7:57.60

Koenigsegg CCX: 6:52.02

Lexus LFA: 7:23.32 (Man, I love this car. Such a beautifully smooth drive.)

Yeah, I'm afraid the e46 time is out of reach for my talents. I did however lower my e92 time to 7:58.000. :)

I think there are several corners that I'm unconsciously taking too slow because the consequences of going wide are disasterous. Among them I think, are the sharp S bend before the bridge, the bridge itself and that long increasing radius right-hander two turns after the bridge.

I can't imagine how brave a driver has to be in real life to take these turns at anything approaching 100%! :nervous:

Just posted a 7:49.360 in the AM V8 Vantage. Super smooth lap. Wish I could do that with the M3.
I'm really liking that car, but driving from the right-hand side for an American feels like driving a motorcycle from the side-car!

I got DFGT wheel today:) So much better then DFP! It was worth about 2 sec  but seriously if feel I get more imformation through FFB :dopey: So its easyer to catch oversteer. It was well spend 1000kroner (around 180USD) :)

Picture as I promissed: e46 - 8,05

Edit: Did some laps in Honda s2000 : 8.33.1 < picture coming..

Board updated, sorry for the delay guys. Good to see the competition hotting up, looks like I need to pull my finger out to get myself back on the board!

Discovered that I somehow had a 50% deadzone on the throttle. Do you know how much easier it is to drive without that!?

Yes, I'm an idiot.

Audi S4: 8:32.19

Nissan 350Z: 8:17.85
-This car is ridonkulous for T1. Could probably be competitive with a lot of T2 stuff.

Mitsi Evo 9: 8:06.29

Subaru Impreza: 8:07.21

Chevrolet Corvette Z06: 7:20.12
-This could probably challenge the GT2 for fastest T3 with a really good lap.

Another brilliant car I hadn't tried out... the Caymen. All the Porsches are great in this game.

Three lap race with 2 opponents, the second lap was a keeper with the time of 7:54.94. A really fun ride.

Good time Manny, to qualify for the leaderboard however, we ask that you run with 0 opponents, just to eliminate any advantage from slipstream, bumping etc. Haven't tried the Cayman or the Carrera GT yet, might have to give it a go

No problem. I doubt any advantage was gained since by the end of the first lap they were 30 seconds behind, but rulz is rulz. :)

OK, this one's legit. Again the second of three laps in the stock Caymen, but no opponents this time. 7:53.88.

Seemed harder to do this time! :)

Damn, that's quick Manny.

New challenge, first person to get a T2 under 7:50 wins a man hug and eleven internet kisses. :)

 A prize to be donated to a worthy charity for sure...

I doubt I'll be able to shave much more off of that Caymen time unless I can figure out how to get through Karrusel faster... Man that corner slows me down! :grumpy:

Karrusel is so hard in this game, it won't stick to the banking! Will update the board tomorrow morning 👍

Does everyone else just go round the top of the Karossel? I've just found it safer, easier and probably faster than going at the banking and 9 times out of ten screwing it up. Especially if you're in a 4WD car and can four wheel drift the high road at 90+ kph.

I have no intention of throwing away 7 to 9 minutes of play just to get another couple of seconds out of the Karossel.

I've done it every possible way... few with great success.

When I've tried breaking hard and diving into the banking then progressively applying the gas I've either, "popped" up onto the flat part often into the wall OR if I'm cutting the wheel too hard, I've sent the rear end into wild oversteer. :banghead:

The way I usually do it now is to... come in fairly slow and stay on the flat initially until nearing the apex then edge down near the top of the banking (without going all the way down into it) I can apply the throttle and get help turning from the banking. Then about 4/5 of the way through I drift off the banking onto the flat and give it full throttle.

This is not fast, but I don't wreck the car either.

Audi TT 3.2 - 8:22.49. Forgot to take a pic

Bugatti Veyron - 6:41.05

Lexus LF-A - 7:20.39

Koeingsegg CCX - 6:44.44

Board updated

Had a quick go last night.

Escort Cosworth - 09:00:627
Mazda RX8 - 08:31:760
BMW M3 E36 - 08:40:620

Maybe you should get the wife to have a go, show us all how its done

Finally! After countless laps trying to figure out how to get the e46 M3 around the Ring in a decent time it came down to 3 things...
  1. Brake half as hard as you think you need to (in most corners)
  2. Accelerate instead of lifting. (The car tucks in amazingly well as long as it's done smoothly and you're brave enough to risk it)
  3. TURN OFF THE RACING LINE (On the Ring the racing line is totally wrong for this car in a dozen different spots)
I had half a dozen times in the 8:08 - 8:10 range and one 8:05.94 that totally surprised me. (I think I was suffering from highway hypnosis by that time) :D

Almost forgot the picture...

Good lap MannyMoenjack 👍 But if Andy check last post, page 5. Its a picture of a 8.05.6 lap in e46 :sly:

You are so right with the 3 point you listed, IMO that counts for most cars in shift (tier 1-3)
