North Korea, Sanctions, and Kim Jong-un

Lol. "Democracy". Pull the other one, it has bells on.
They are. Both are statements of their respective governments.
False equivalency. Rinse and repeat.

That is just the most hilarious thing I've ever seen you write. You should be a stand-up comedian, because that's A-Grade material. One doesn't find the ability to produce that level of satire from just anyone.
According to the Wikipedia:
Snowflake as a slang term involves the usage of the word snowflake to refer to a person. Its meaning may include a person perceived by others to have an inflated sense of uniqueness or an unwarranted sense of entitlement, or to be over-emotional, easily offended, and unable to deal with opposing opinions. Common usages include the terms special snowflake, Generation Snowflake, and snowflake as a politicized insult.
I'm glad you enjoy it when others are personally insulted on this forum. I suspect the white knight police would be out in full force were the insults going the other way.

You really can't help it, can you?
He does have a point. Y'all love to gang up on me when I post anything. Post specifically quoting someone, then the same people that never can agree cause I use my slang lite up my notifications. Y'all won't post for weeks and I dare post anything it's always the same handful of people that come out of the woodworks... It really does get annoying...

I guess I'm just some dude y'all enjoy ridiculing instead of actually reading what I posted and do your own search.

I'm still not over my last relevant post without my opinion being ignored. Yet I call a girl some girl and half the forum loses their mind...

Oh and someone please post something so I don't DP in a few minutes when I try and show why socialism isn't good for the US. Democratic or not. Nevermind wrong thread...

None of that has anything to do with what I was referring to.

We do read what you post. Doesn't mean we have to agree with it.

I don't recall anybody losing their minds. I do recall you issuing schoolyard threats.

I never tried to talk with you about the merits of socialism. I just pointed out that if you want to engage people in conversation about Democratic Socialism, you should at least know what it is first, and stop conflating it with Soviet/Chinese/etc. socialism, which is an entirely different thing.

I'll try again. Are you saying they're not statements of their respective governments? Maybe one is a hologram.

When someone is wrong, a lot of other people tend to disagree.

I'm not coming out of the woodwork, I've been here for a few pages now.

I've already explained it, I don't care to re-explain it.

Ahhh the old bandwagon fallacy. Or argumentum ad populum for you latin lovers out there.

And several people have explained why you're barking up the wrong tree. Try again. Or don't, and we'll continue to draw our own conclusions.

Except we're not just saying he's wrong simply because there are so many of us. Each of us is also providing evidence to contradict his claim. Not ad populum.

If you keep repeating the fallacy does that invalidate it?

Two newspapers reported on an official statement by a country's foreign office. You appear to have given up on trying to rubbish it because the source is "anonymous" (it isn't since we can trace it back to its source) and are trying to invalidate it on the grounds that it's Korean. However, nobody is presenting it as trufax, only as proof that Trump's dealmaking didn't work.

Where's the fallacy?

In the most recent instance, I suspect he's referring to his assertion that something is being deemed factual because of the number of people that accept it as fact.

Of course I'd hope that my being mistaken in this suspicion is acceptable given that multiple fallacies have been incorrectly attributed within the same discussion and the lack of specificity is likely to cause confusion.

If that's the case then perhaps it would help if he actually read the posts he was replying to and specifically addressed the points therein, but I've long since lost hope of that.

Well, I consider myself warned as to how to respond to certain members on this forum. My apologies if you felt abused, it was not my intention. My intention was to help you see how your own posting styles were detrimental to the communication of the legitimate discussion that was available around the points that you wished to make.

I have had posts deleted and a stern warning. Your voice has been heard.

Still, as this thread like so many others has largely degenerated into partisanship rather than rational sharing of information and discussion I guess there's not much to be lost. As long as people are more interested in defending their "side", whatever that might be, there's going to be little real discussion of North Korea, what's going on and how it might best be handled. It's the forum equivalent of a proxy war, it's merely different names for the same old us vs. them arguments.

I hold out greater hope that North Korea and the US can come to a peaceful agreement than I do that internet denizens can put aside their political cudgels and talk to each other like adults.

I have no idea who these people are so take it for what it's worth:

In an important first step towards fulfilling a commitment made by Kim Jong Un at the June 12 Singapore Summit, new commercial satellite imagery of the Sohae Satellite Launching Station (North Korea’s main satellite launch facility since 2012) indicates that the North has begun dismantling key facilities. Most notably, these include the rail-mounted processing building—where space launch vehicles are prepared before moving them to the launch pad—and the nearby rocket engine test stand used to develop liquid-fuel engines for ballistic missiles and space launch vehicles. Since these facilities are believed to have played an important role in the development of technologies for the North’s intercontinental ballistic missile program, these efforts represent a significant confidence building measure on the part of North Korea.

A Documentary released on NK State television stated Trump and Kim are "great allies", quite unusual(especially after Trump walked away at the summit)I guess promising for the future if that indeed happens but to say they are now allies is pretty damn misleading.

Must be grading on a scale. I assume that China is a sibling and South Korea is a friend. Next is pal, then mate, then ally, then moon pie, then enemy.

Yes, Kim is great friend of America. After we knock his teeth out, he will be an even better friend.

Yeah I’m sure Kim loves the open dialogue, gives him continuing opportunities to manipulate Trump. Especially since Trump is so incredibly insecure, he’d rather allow himself to be manipulated than to admit he got played.

Just like Papa Un did with the rest of the world.

Yes, but now the excuse is that orange man bad.
I see it as you can't trust a Kim, because they have nothing to lose. Even if they choose to go back on their word, nobody will do anything until they do something massively stupid.
