North Korea, Sanctions, and Kim Jong-un

It is indeed! In fact it is one of the closest restaurants to my flat...

I've never been but I've heard it's the dog's bollocks.

...Fun fact: I was misled into eating... eh, I think I might end up violating AUP if I write what I ate back then (unknowingly of course), so I'll just leave it to your imaginations.

Actually, it didn't taste half bad. But I wouldn't try again, that's for sure...

Looks like North Korea is doing more and more saber rattling. I wonder how soon China will jump in to carry off Mr. Kim to an insane asylum prevent a nuclear launch.

The entire chain of command needs to be removed, as they will likely follow everything KJU wants, even if he was eliminated.

That's what it's going to come down to if they ever actually fire one. Problem is that they need to NOT be aiming for South Korea in order to avoid a global disaster.

"These are my photos from my trip to North Korea, quite possibly the most mysterious country on the planet. The photos focus on what it was like getting into the country and then exploring Pyongyang, North Korea's capital and the largest city. My trip began in China, where I would eventually board a train into North Korea, a method of entry that isn't available to American tourists, who are required to fly in."

French press agency AFP reports that North Korea is threatening with a preemptive nuclear strike on South Korea and the USA.

Unless they are aiming for a US base how could they possibly threaten the US mainland?

CAKE UTILIZED!

Okay, so the LA burbs go *pop*, it's okay if Edwards is intact? :D
Pretty sure that it would require them to double their range PLUS somehow get the nuclear material on the warhead. I can't see that being possible.

Does South Korea have any sort of anti missile defence, like Israel's Iron Dome, but in extremis?

This is also the time for China to send over some henchmen to punch Kim Jong-cake back into reality.

NK has a miniature nuclear warhead, they say. BBC.

My first thought was this, perhaps unfairly;

Hey, those things are lethal... when opening the capsule it can pop of suddenly and hit you in the eye... dangerous stuff!

I don't think SK has a proper permanent missile defence system which is kinda odd. I guess they felt NK didn't have the capabilities until now. They do however have lots of US Army equipment over there some of which will be anti missile.

China will defuse all this, they always do because NK listens to China.

I heard that the US military was supplying South Korea with anti-missile systems, but the North was seeing that as an act of aggression and were going to ramp things up if America kept bringing more over.

Ah, the famous "defending yourself is an act of aggression" tactic.

Here's the nuke....

No KIm, you can't eat it.

Anyway looks like a scene from 1960's Toho kaiju Godzilla films. Complete with authentic important-looking people in jackets scribbling notes at a briefing.
