Notice of Account Ban measures

My apologies, I was very un-aware that jailbraking was legal anywhere... (Coming from a guy that hates apple products) seriously though, think about all the money they have lost and are still losing due to jailbraking. If i were apple I would try to either hire the jailbrake creators and either work together to stop it from happening, or work together with them and collaborate some way and make a buiseness deal, but thats a whole different story for a different place and time...

apple isnt losing any money due to jailbreaking thedevs of apps are from pirating yes but apple still gets theyre cut apple is losing money because the iphone isnt as diverese as the andriods and isnt as open i am an iphone owner and the thing that is killing apple is theyre development has become stagnant the have one phone it should be killing the other phones the only thing it has going for it that i like is it works no bugs barely any glitches since ive owned them and great batterys also build quility and durability.

wait does this mean that if you are on a leader board with a hybrid you're banned from gt5? or does it mean if you use a Hybrid online period your banned, like say i use my modded MX-5 to play around on a drift or cruise lobby but only in "for fun" lobbies i won't be banned right?

The notice that PD sent out to every in my opinion is quite unclear. It seems to me that if you are caught using a hybrid car online, you will be banned, period. It doesn't state that you will be banned if you have a lobby for hybrids only or if you only use them offline for personal purposes.

At last....

GT5 News 5.4.2013

It's badly written for a message sent to millions of people.
Either ...these Online ID's will no longer...
Or ...the Online ID's in question will no longer...

That's like Proper English.. English isn't even my first language, it looks fine to me. How would prefer it be written?

Per the AUP:

  • You will post all messages in English.
  • You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.

Welcome to GTPlanet. :)

So.. Yeah it looks like if you own a hacked/modded(it's hacked. Just hacked), then your best bet is to just delete all of them. Realistic or not. But if you do get banned I wonder if you can make an appeal, and where. Good luck to you guys <3

Anything you've gotten that you wouldn't ordinarily be able to get counts as a hacked car; though in cases like that I'm curious whether PD could determine you weren't "supposed" to have it.

Does the X2010 JP flag edition count as a hacked car ? That one i still have ,not hacked.

Well I don't know if anyone has this car legitimately (the game allowed them to have the car) or if they obtained it through modding. I think only players in Japan had this car. If not, I wouldn't keep it because it might get you into trouble.

Actually curious what's going to happen for things like this. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a lot of people who never did anything got caught in the crossfire (like what if they ban people who were sent a hybrid car but never did anything with it?), so what is PD going to do for that? Can you even contest the ban; and if so, how?

Not much I guess, I haven't tried signing in since yesterday so il give it another shoot soon, but if it doesn't work again then the odds of playing again aren't good, I probably won't even bother contesting, just a shame how the whole situation has been poorly handled, I expected better

It boggles the mind how you haven't been banned, even after Terronium-12 deleted every single one of your posts. If you don't have anything to contribute, stay off the forums. I actually contribute to these forums because I can appreciate something that is really fun and creative. I also compliment users that take their time to make really cool cars that people have begged Polyphony for.

I'm going to make this quite simple for you.

I don't care how much of an issue you have with another members posts or how much you think they are breaking the AUP, if you tell a member to leave GTP or stop posting again then you will be the one on the end of moderation action.

Next time you think someone is out of line use the report button, enforcement of the AUP is for the staff and you are not a member of staff and we do not need you acting on our behalf.

Still not deleting my hybrid cars. Why should I have to suffer because a group of immature little brats decided that ruining Time Trials, Drift Trials, and Online with their 1,000,000hp GT-Rs and Civics was a good idea? I refuse to delete my cars. I spent hours, even days tweaking each hybrid car of mine until it completely fulfilled my desires. I am not going to give up hours of my life spent wisely because of arrogant little 🤬. If I get banned, then oh well.

Do not bypass the swear filter again, its an AUP violation and should you repeat it you will be getting an infraction.

@ALL - The next member to treat the AUP as if it were optional will be getting a two day holiday from GTP.

How exactly was I bypassing the swear filter? I clearly bleeped out a part of the word I was saying.
Whatever I'm not going to argue. For a site that's mainly comprised of teens and adults you would think that the swearing system would be a little forgiving. :indiff:

PD needs to stop wasting time on GT5 and work on GT6. Enough has been said.

There's a : censored : smiley. (Remove spaces between "censored" and the colons)

I think you can only bleep out the whole word not just part of it. Not sure though. Maybe Scaff can shed some light on that. Or just don't use that language in the first place might be better. Thumbs up

He might be on the mobile app like me so there is not a smiley insert place. I have no idea if it would work if I simply type 🤬 of it will work the same way.

Have you noticed how i replace  with hahaha a lot? Easier on the app to type hahaha. But yeah anyway....

So anyway over all of this discussion. Has anyone else been banned? Starting to wonder if the OP will ever be answered

The AUP you agreed to when you joined:

You will not use profanity in the forums, nor link to content which contains offensive language without sufficient warning.

In future either use the 🤬 similie or let the forum software censor the whole word, you effort did nothing to remove the actual word, a single * is pointless.

I think the hybrids are the least of Polyphony's worries. The fact that someone figured out the hex to enable the Secret option menu, and made use of that one feature online, got their attention. That feature is one way to grief someone pretty badly, and not only does it go against the ToS for both GT5 and PSN, it's just plain rude...

I'm a victim myself. Was in a public race myself with some friends racing 650PP cars. One person didn't take off when the flag was waved, so I figured he was A-F-C (away from control). About a good nine minutes into the race when I was building a gap, my car wouldn't respond and I crashed straight into the dirt at the Nurb.

I then realized someone was controlling my car and ruined my experience. Truth be told, I enabled this menu to see how that was done, and to my shock, it's scary. I didn't exactly use the feature, but having the ability to enable it and use it online is a chill throughout my whole spine. I'm sure a couple of other people have reported users for such abuse, too.

In a brief synopsis, I think Polyphony stepped up because of this menu and the feature that comes with it that can be used to grief racers online. We'll most likely be seeing a patch in the future if the bans don't solve anything...

Oh wow.

Probably has something to do with the online Id changer that menu has. Hummmm i agree. That is very bad glad they took care of that.

I've had similar dodgy experiences in the past few days, like the environment having textures not loading properly, being in a race with about 12 ppl and about 5 had gone completely off track within the first 5 mins, there were no contacts between drivers, unless everyone single one of those ppl were blind I guess something was up it was way too suspicious, gt5 looks to be well and truly in a mess and perhaps dead in the near future, I'm just glad I've been able to get some enjoyment out of it

Alright apologies man. I'm bipolar, so I tend to overreact quite a bit. I'll do my best to follow the rules next time. :guilty:

98% of my posts have been from my iPhone. I started using BB code and typing smilies after seeing people typing out the typical smilies you see (tup, lol, censored, banghead, etc). Initially, you can't see smilies until you click on the post, but you can see when BB code is used (colored and bolded texts, etc).

So with this Menu can you fully take control of someone elses car? As in drive it round the track and finish the race?

While in this instance it is being used by people to cause trouble, could it potentially be the beginnings of a 'multi-driver' mode (similar to the mode on the upcoming PS4 where others can take over the game to help you out), for use in endurance races and the like?

If i remember correctly. Kaz took a feature like this out of the final version of the game. Probably since it can cause these problems.

Ah right, I wasn't aware of that. Sad that some people find ruining everyone else's time 'fun'.

I don't know much about the feature; all I know is that a keyboard is required, and you press some keys to take complete control of someone's vehicle. That's how I think it works, but I can't really say since I have not used it myself; all I did was enable the menu on a new savegame I created, then overwrote it with a backup of my normal savegame, just to see how it is enabled.

I've used the secret menu myself and tried its functions and didn't find any option like this. I couldn't find any discussion on this subject on NextGenUpdate either.
Until there's video proof or a lot more people experiencing this I don't believe any modification of this kind is available through simple save data modding in GT5.

No, that function enables you to change views (and it says that in the secret menu), it has nothing to do with taking over control of the car.

Can't remember the exact wording he used but i think it was the same as the Sony unveil (talk) of the features of the PS4

But it could just be...
