The Radical SR3 Turbo lap time in real life was 7:19 with street tyres and not slicks - as the driver of that car I should know.

In the meantime GT4 is mega - although the cars you can use on the 'Ring mean lap times become a little crazy! I've done 5min 23sec in the Formula car!!!!

I would like to see what sort of times you can get on GT4 in comparism to PGR2.
Somone should run a hot lap with a TVR speed 12

I´ve done not with the Cerbera SPeed 12, but with the Porsche 911 GT1, at my friend´s house. He doesn´t have the Cerbera as he is very bad at driving at that, and i just play there sometimes.

BTW, my best lap until now, using the 911 GT1, is 6"17.9 at the Nordschleife. But it could be down to like 6"14 if i do it perfect in the limits.

PGR2 is very unrealistic at this point, mainly at the "simulation of car´s performances", and GT4 is not too far from that, i mean, from the fake lap times. The car´s performances are pretty real at GT4, but the lap times, when did in the limits, are quite unreal compared to real life lap times.

The mighty 911 GT1 on his best run as far as i can imagine and know the track very well, can do a lap of 7"22 in real life, as he is very very stable and good at cornering. The Carrera GT´s best run til now is 7"32, so i believe that it´s old brother(the 911 GT1) can down that time in about 10 seconds, as it´s more to a race car instead of street one.

That´s just my opinion, trying to imagine it running in that track. Seeing many videos and real life lap boards, it´s what i can imagine that it can does in that track, about 7"22 or something near that. It´s a special car. :)

id love to see what this badboy would do

 your kidding right?

anyways. Your telling me they added a track in this game that would take 7+ minutes at BEST to complete???? :scared:

Oh, dear, God......Complex string is about all i can take. I hope they didn't make any races at this 'Ring....

Almost all the times on Live use cheats of one sort or another on the ring. EVERYONE takes long grass cuts to the extent that most believe that its not cheating (as i am sure you did on your 'perfect' lap). Then there is the glitch shifting... But still PGR2 is just a simple arcade game and nothing life real life.

GT4 is great, but the lap times do look to be too fast also.

I would agree that almost allt he times on the scoreboards for PGR2 are using cheats. Iwill disagree that everyone takes the grass cuts.

I haven't bothered to post times on PGR2 especially on Nurburgring in over a year because of people taking shortcuts. But I have the following personal best race times (1 lap, Kudos racing) without using any shortcuts, or any shift-glitching.

TVR Speed 12 - 6'03.xxx
Porsche GT1 - 6'11.xxx
Mercedes CLK GTR - 6'16.xxx
Enzo Ferrari - 6'21.xxx

Those are just the cars from the ultimate group.

I also would agree that the cars are in no way realistic. When it is possible to do a 6'34 with the Saleen S7 during a 1 lap race.

How the heck has the Pagani Zonda S beat the McLaren F1 and the SLR? Seriously, the SLR in particular is a phenomal car.

To name a few?
The LSR is WAAAAAAAAAY tooooo heavy to call it a 'supercar for the circuit' its more a superturismo.
The gearbox is waaaaaaaaaay too long.
The car is waaaaaaaay too long to drive fast through corners.

I'd disagree. I don't see how it could beat a McLaren F1. The McLaren F1 has like, 80 more horsepower, 70 less kg of weight etc. Really, whoever was driving the F1, better handling etc. Whoever was driving the F1 must have sucked ass.

One other thing. When top gear tested the SLR around their test track, it came out on top. It beat the F1 by just over a second, and the Pagani came in either 3rd or 4th with the Murcielago.

Please, dont believe everything TG does.

Mercedes themselves admit its not a circuitcraper, its VERY heavy and very plumb, more a superturismo like I said before like the Scaglietti and Vanquish. (only the SLR is also waaaay too expensive)

I never said they were realistic, what I was trying to say is that those are the best times I have achieved in PGR2 during a race as I prefer not to do time trials.

Anyone should know that PGR2 is an arcade style game, not a simulation style game. I was just giving some times of what could be achieved without using shortcuts or shift-glitching.

You can take it for what it is worth

Huh? So you're saying they lied about the time?

But anyway, I still don't see how it could beat a McLaren F1. Lets face it, the F1 is regarded as the best supercar of all time. And the potential to hit top speeds on the ring is, well, large.....

I know what you mean m8.
I've been on the Ring several times, and the one in PGR2 doesnt resemble the Ring at all, waaay too wide and the corners are also way too long.
With GT4 tho, I had the feeling I was there again, for me, thats just a difference in quality.

Those are good times ya have there ya know. Not played PGR2 for ages though. Don't even remember what my ring times were.

I can't wait until I can get the game and then try it for myself. It will be much better than PGR2 because you will actually have to be careful (hopefully anyway).

Have you been watching a different Top Gear to me?

The SLR did not come out on top and they have never tested the McLaren F1 with the Stig on that track.

Top 5 from the Top Gear website

1st Ferrari Enzo - 1.19.0

2nd Ariel Atom - 1.19.5

3rd Porsche Carerra GT - 1.19.8

4th Mercedes McLaren SLR - 1.20.9

5th Ford GT - 1.21.9

6th Ferrari 360 CS - 1.22.3

7th Porsche GT3 RS - 1.22.3

8th Murcielago - 1.23.7

9th Zonda - 1.23.8

10th Koenigsegg - 1.23.9

The track itself is very short, with no long straights and is not particularly technical in nature, also the different weather conditions for each test makes it subjective at best.

top_gear_track.gif

The route follows a figure 8 pattern, from the start to Chicago, round Hammerhead, right at the follow through, then Bacharach and Gambon and down to the finish line.

For more details go and have a look at the site itself

Judging from the way people clip curbs in the sauber c9... maybe you won't have to be careful (seriously, you couldnt hit the nurby curbs in a car that stiff). Ground effects cars are very sensitive.

Oh, does that sauber get air at flugplatz? It soo shouldn't.

lol I could've sworn they'd run an F1, but anyway, when I said the SLR came out on top, I meant it came out on top of the Zonda, not the top of the whole lot.

But yeah, I still don't know how the hell the Zonda has got a better time than the McLaren F1 on the ring. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing the Zonda, it's my favourite supercar believe it or not.

Seriously, the Zonda is heavier than the F1, has around 80 BHP less, not to mention the fact that the F1 has better handling and stopping power. Who the hell was driving the McLaren?

The time of that HKS "Monster" will never exist. Its far too deep. At Ex-Mühle it will totally destroy its frontspoiler.

About the McLarenF1 and Zonda.

The most of the Times were driven from Horst von Saurma for the "Supertest". They are made from the "SportAuto" magazine. Maybe the weather was not so good, when they drive the F1.

OR the F1 is also too stiff or too deep for the Nordschleife. The DTM Cars driven at the 24h Race in the past 2 years had to "higher" their suspension and had to have more "way" for the suspension to work because of the jumps etc.

Have Fun

So what is the deal with this when the top qualifier in the 24h is 8:19.xxx...and we are talking race cars like the Viper GTS-R and the DTM Audi :ill:

Confused how normal M3s and such will run faster lap times than GTS race cars?

HOLY COW!!!!! THE RING IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sense of speed is GREAT!!! I love this track!

I've just now run it twice, for the first time ever, i've never even seen a layout of this place before.

I ran in my '90 Supra, which has small suspension mod, muffler/exhaust, clutch and flywheel.

My first time was 8'47.xxx, by no means a clean run. got into the grass, sand and barriers in several places

My second lap was going MUCH better until the last part before the long straightaway i started bouncing around like a pinball!

but my second lap time was a better 8'39.790! i feel better! i was afraid i'd turn in like a 9minute after reading the RealLife lap time list.

after few tries..... got my nike car in 7.55.xxx's ... not impressive, i know.. still getting use to the physics!

the 24 hours now is on a MUCH longer track... by almost 4 miles i believe... it includes the Grand Prix track.... hence why the times are seemingly slower...

slo-car
wish i could remember my time with my m3 gtr turbo race car...

ill get it tomorrow.

I still suck at the ring.... stock Yellowbird was 7:56.***
It's quite an entertaining drive. DF wheel is awesome.
