Shame the dream of getting a similar result to the GTP poll isn't looking likely...

BBC has now called another swing state - New Mexico to Obama

McCain has held Texas though...

Lol @ the race in Florida. Looks familiar.

Damn my Congressional district race though. Wasserman-Schultz has 80% with half of the precincts reporting. I bet the Jewish vote is like 100%.

The big difference this time is that Obama won't need to take Florida unless McCain pulls off a miracle in the West Coast states...

And another swing - Iowa to Obama

Oh, man. BJ Lawson lost his race. :(

Still he got 37% of the vote in a HEAVILY Democrat district. That's awesome.

Virginia has been called for Obama, which means that when California is called in a few minutes time, Obama will be officially over the line and we can expect to see McCain concede...!

and Florida has gone to Obama now.... it could be a landslide here...

I had predicted a Republican victory a year ago, when Hilary and Obama were still battling it out. I just couldn't see America deciding on such a different thinker. In the past few weeks, that feeling came back and I had flash visions of Palin and McCain running the show at the dismay of the rest of the world. I'm pleasantly surprised, although Obama means different treatment of trade and cross-boarder economy for me and my local industries, I'm happy that my PM doesn't have his idol to suck up to anymore.

Yep, it's pretty much official... Barack Obama has won, and looks likely to take atleast 330 Electoral Votes now...

Only in America

I didn't vote for the guy -- but elections have consequences-- and its a great moment for the USA .
Compare this day to WWII and fighting for "freedom "---with a segregated army and Japenanese citezens in internment camps.

If of course he doesnt redistribute us into bankruptcy ....this guy is the poster boy for all that is great about the USA .

no matter what .
This is a great day .
Even if we have to get rid rid of him in 4 years ..the fact he made it --and he may get the HIGHEST popular vote total in ages ---is simply amazing.

So many NEW people VOTED and I have never in my life seen such enthusiasm among the electorate ...never.

So I add this to the things in my life I thought I would NEVER see.

And I think we are all the better for it.

I wonder when i get my econonic stimulus check ?

👍 Well said... it's an historic day for the United States indeed...

Haha people are booing McCain...
They were booing Obama's name, not McCain... to be fair to McCain, he nipped that in the bud.

I will agree he is doing it fairly classy all things considered.

Seriously, I can't believe folks bought into some of Obama's plans. I highly await the coal industry & the rich's approval ratings towards Obama.

I'm more surprised people bought into either of them to be honest. Like I said, they are both socialist.

Since rich people only get 1 vote each, and there are many more poor people and old people in the US, it doesn't really matter what the rich people think, now does it?

Too many people viewing this thread at once. Instant 10+ page discussion. Obama won. I doubt much will change. Nothing will change.

Well, I didn't hear it correctly during Sen. McCain's speech. I though they got mad at him for saying Senator instead of President- Elect. But then again, my brother and dad were looking for African Americans in the crowd.
