I got a few random unicorns sent to me by just posting a comment on their forum, and some just came randomly in my inbox from them, lol.

Heck, they even sent me a bunch of free license plate frame (real ones) for posting on the forum. They were frames with Forza logos on them!

You might want to check that again.

Checked. Only Turn 10 can gift/auction, otherwise there would be huge unicorn black market.

Unicorns are BS IMO. I mean, in order to get them you need to win online competitions etc. What if you don't play online? Oh, I guess it's tough **** then, huh?

I think of it as the lottery myself. You gotta be in it to win it. Can't get mad because you're neighbor put a dollar out there and won the lottery while you decided not to spend your buck.

It's impossible to please everyone, especially when the vast majority of gamers are online compared to ones who are mainly off line players.

I personally like the unicorns as they are cars not everyone has in a game where all the normal cars are unlocked from the start. Plus they are a way for T10 to interact with the community by holding contests or race sessions and giving the cars as an incentive to take part.

Edit: For the record the only unicorn I've gotten in FM2 or 3 is the one for pre-ordering FM4

Then you can go to the auction house, or participate in the community comps (photomode, Twitter questions or whatever it was that involved Twitter), or some other stuff I can't remember.

The same goes for the storefront, auction house, leaderboards, multi player in general and even DLC.
And, no, you don't need to win online competitions. They even send out unicorn cars for trivias done via twitter. All you need to do is hook your Xbox up to your PC with an ehternet cable and collect the unicorn car from your inbox.

Besides, I'm barely playing online mayself, if I do so, at all. And neither did I get my hands on a unicorn car. Just so you know I'm actually in the same situation.

So if you own those cars in FM3 and you buy the LCE, you get gifted those right away? Sweet if so.

(S204 and Spirit-R owner)

It couldn't be easier to get a unicorn right now. They are giving the RX7 from my screenshot to anyone who emails them a receipt showing that they pre-ordered Forza 4.

I do not like to play online, I hate all this tendency of telling gamers how they should play. I always play offline, except when I play with some friends, but honestly, I play video games 99% of the time to play things the way I want, not to be social about it.

That is what I hate about the "new era" video game companies, they insist on making this a social thing which only equals to more money/control for them.

Hate Unicorns, and hate almost anything that demands Online playing for the above explained reason.

P.S. Not even Race 07 and its multiple expansions have made me sign to Steam, hate anything related to monopoly or "remote" control, let alone the cloud.

So, developers should just drop loads of features 99% of the players enjoy just to not "tell people how to play"?

I don't do that stuff myself, but hell, that's quite self centric, isn't it?

Anyways, it'd be nice if T10 keep sending out decent amounts of unicorn cars. That'd keep the prices down and a lot of money out of Forza's economy.

I think there are many people that dont play online much. I am one of them as well.

That is what I'm saying. Companies do it because it is a huge business. That's the new model videogames = social life. They were clever enough to make video games something mainstream, and kill the "nerd" stigma about them.

Anyway, it's their business, they'll do whatever to make more money, but I will always play offline, and when offline games cease to exist, then I will find another hobby.

Playing offline is self centric? Yeah, and that is so cool...

But to each its own, I guess.

None of my unicorns came from online racing.

How did they come then? They force you to interact somehow with the community, right? They force you to buy Xbox live gold, right?

The one for pre-ordering Forza 4 doesn't count. That WAS a unicorn before that option was offered.

I mean, cool, make them DLC, make people pay, play with their shopping behaviors, their aspirations, whatever, but DON'T force people to interact with others.

^ There's a party, your invited. It up to you if you want to go.

Whenever I'm invited to a party, I don't have to pay for it...

BTW, I think I was clear enough, I just don't use online features, hate their "clever way of exploiting people with the let's have fun together excuse".

1.- Pay for ISP rates (anyway, I use the Internet for many things...)
2.- Pay for the game
3.- Pay for DLC
4.- Pay for Xbox Live Gold
5.- Be forced to interact with strangers.

Kills me, no thank you I'll pass, but you enjoy your party!

(1 and 2 I don't care obviously, I love Forza and the Internet is a basic tool today.)

Ok man. I guess it's a big step for you to post here.

Well done.

Try not to be too angry and let the hate flood out of your system. It's not to good for your health to store up hate.

Take care.

Just because you're anti-social doesn't mean everyone else in the world is.

LOL, I'm not angry, I just don't like to make people richer by playing the "follow the tendency game".

Well there was a lot of HATE in your posts but that's ok. Your with friends here.

A bit like a social circle for game addicts.

There hardest bit is admitting to being a gaming addict. Once you've accepted who you are you can move on.

Learn how to dress yourself.
Cook.
Clean.
Socially interact.

Lol I'm joking of course I'm as nerdy as anyone else.

Not sure of your location Chad.
F1 2010 and upcoming 2011 is probably the best single player career mode you could wish for. 100% race length though fella.

Just an idea. It's were I go for off line fun.

Ok, I got one confession here among addicts... When GT5 was released, I started playing it a lot, and I mean a lot. I even skipped shower a couple of days before work just to have a few more minutes to play some more before leaving...

Once Forza 4 is released, I might do it again...

Damn, I'm pretty sick...

I'm from California but I'm in Mexico City now, I'm a musician working here for a couple of years. I played f1 2010 to death... Will do it again with f1 2011!

Thats kind of odd. Most people that I know that are big into online gaming, and online interaction are the ones that are rather "anti-social". Being social in online gaming doesnt always equal a socially inclined person...sometimes its the opposite. Thats why some people are big into being liked/accepted/part of a group online...because they are almost shut-ins.

That is very true.

And the clues of the anti-socialness begin to unfold....

lol

24ht endurance race isn't exactly hygiene friendly either. TBH.

If your a drummer it's cool to smell.

Yeah, I will try to explain myself better:

I do not like to depend on others to achieve stuff in my games, just that. Not that I hate society in a sick way...

LOL, I'm a bass player though, but I have to keep some minimum hygiene since chicks get kind of close from time to time...

When I did a 24 hour race on GT5 I got some kind of pain around the butt... Hopefully it was gone in the next 2 days...
