And I'll echo my last post. The contents of the update have not been officially announced. Any complaining at the moment is jumping the gun.

So its alright for people to praise the update, or speak positively about it, based on the information we have so far, but its not alright to speak negatively about it based on the same information.

I'm not so sure if that's the case. What I think he meant, with the post you quoted, was that we should not call this a bad update because not all details are clear yet, therefore we should wait for more info before calling this a bad update.

Bingo.

Because they're special holiday seasonal events with higher payouts?

Again, which I'll find out for myself once ive completed them all.
I dont need them or anyone else to tell me this pointless information.
We've all managed to work the seasonals & the payouts out by ourselves over the past year.
Just because it's xmas.........Cobblers.

I don't know, I don't write what's on that blog, that's up to whoever from PD wants to tell us something.

Hmm the nature of these events indicates to me that they involve an update, like the Sierra rally, rather than a seasonal we just access online. So they would require a download. Happy to be proved wrong!

Well, my apologies to you then Jason. I took it as you trying to censor any kind of negative comments based on what we know so far. As it looks now with the information we have, then I too am not impressed. Sure, new events are cool and all, I just hope that that's not all there is. I guess we'll know in roughly 8 hours, eh. Again, my apologies Jason and Happy Holidays all.

Definitely seasonals to me.
Named as such and the picture showed the typical seasonal screen with them sitting between VGT and drift events.
Access from the server and probably start on a Thursday as usual I would imagine.
That's my take on it anyway.

What are the odds we end up with a Stratos and XJ13 in our garages courtesy of the overtake challenges?

1:1.000.000.000

Because you know, the jag alone costs 20.000.000 credits

Yeah, I don't think PD will just gift away a 20 million car like that. VGTs, yes. One of the most expensive cars in the game? Not quite. I'd love to be wrong, of course, but as Saint said the odds are very slim...

So previous "overtake challenges" have been via seasonals or downloadable updates? Still think the description of these events lends them to being some sort of update. If not, why haven't we seen this kinda variety on a weekly basis over the last year?

The VGT events will start as soon as the Subaru event ends in a few hours [after the update is installed], and the other 'Holiday events' will start on the 25th when current events end.

It is possible that some lines of extra code are needed to create these events, and as such could well be a small part of the update.

1h 20mins here, i'm starting to sweat.
Maintenance will start at 5:00 am in the place you are

Fair call.
Just putting it out there. :D

We haven't had any of them before. (well drift trials obviously but these have been tweeked)
I guess that's what makes them 'special events'.

Why haven't we seen them before?
I don't know. Same reason why we didn't see Aspec seasonals for 6 months I guess. :)

Wow, really? :odd: Just from a game update uh? You'd probably have a heart attack then and end up in the ER if you had a girlfriend and she told you she wanted some action.:lol::lol: Sorry mate, you just made that too easy for me. :sly:
The Hype is real

I know, I was joining in on hijacking the context :D

I see, no problems then.

@sparkytooth Really? I never would have known, thanks for informing me. Seriously though there sparky, I know all about the maintenance and possible update, I just choose to not get all hyped up about it like some do. I save that for when/if it actually happens....otherwise, its business as usual for me. ;) I do like to read these threads though, quite entertaining to say the least. Better than the Sunday comics!!! The best part are the "Its Happening" gifs. ;)

I guess I'll either be impressed or not. I like the sounds of larger pay outs, & maybe some different type races.
Still have a weeks worth of grinding at Laguna, at a million credits an hour I'm not complaining. I have a bunch of cars to run there, so I race it, change cars, race it... Rinse, repeat... I get bored with it I grab some clunker & knock around the Cape Ring, then I realize I'm not bored with Laguna.
