X and Y. So many jokes can be made about the name of these games . Since its a new generation it was plainly obvious that these games would not be remakes but it also signals that there might not be a revision of Gen III.

I am a bit surprised to hear the 6th generation is coming already. I honestly wasn't expecting it until late 2014 or 2015.

2 out of 3 of my predictions were correct... just as I predicted.

So the next Pokemon games aren't Ruby/Sapphire remakes, but they are for the 3DS and they are fully 3D. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ruby/Sapphire remakes happen after Pokemon X and Y.

Just based on the trailer, I think the new region is going to be based off of Europe, with a major city being based on Paris. It also looks like 3 of the gyms will be bug, psychic, and fire types.

I'm a bit disappointed that they aren't remaking Ruby/Sapphire (yet). But anyway, the Gen 6 starters really look excellent. I'm looking forward to it. 👍

I feel that as long as the graphics aren't choppy I'm really going to enjoy the new titles. The worry is they look like some of the later DS titles and dont use AA for that extra polish.

I've been waiting for a 3D Pokemon RPG to come for years, as far back as the N64 I was wondering when are they going to bring out a proper 3D RPG. The 3DS seems to produce graphics around that quality level (of the N64) so I guess I finally got my wish!

Hopefully they can do it justice and not spoil it with nasty graphics or dodgy camera angles.

I have some info about some of the new Pokemon in Gen VI from the gamefaqs board via the poster Ultimacanti. He is a part of the NA Localization team for Nintendo of America in collaboration with Game Freak

First, there will be a major spoiler released about the game in March (but not by him).

Second, there apparently will be a new Eevee evolution, this one a pure flying type.

Third, 4 Pokemon families and descriptions have been leaked:

1. Small dolphin with clown face paint (no clown nose) and a striped hoop around its belly. (summary says it gets 1 evo)
2. A bird that looks very similar to a plover, mostly white body with black stripes, forming something like a hashtag on both sides of the body. Also stripe across eyes. (summary says 2 evos)
3. A fluffball with only small legs and a nose sticking out of it (cannot see eyes). This is the new rodent, but the animal it is based on is neither associated with fluff or Europe. (summary says 1 evo)
4. A small kangaroo with a battery-pouch and two hammer-like hands. Its tail is spiraled (no obvious lightning marks on its body) (summary says 2 evos)

In addition:
New region is divided between Northern forests/mountains and southern coasts / plains.
2 new villain teams
Yveltal and Xerneas are based on yatagarasu and shishigami respectively
The 2 legendaries represent North and South
The 3rd "Z" legendary is based on a shachihoko (check other thread for a detailed description)
New eevolution is flying type
Fennekin line = Egyptian
Chespin line = military / soldier
Froakie line = wizard
