Am I the only one who still loves this game? No input lag, no driving problems, honestly don't care if its a sim or an arcade. I just love the feel of driving.

Haven't finished the game yet - I'm a father of four with about an hour or two driving time per week, so I'll be getting a few more months of play out of this.

I downloaded the Legends DLC and I'm in love all over again. E-Type Jags, Alpha Guiletta, Mini Cooper. I absolutely need to upgrade and tune up a Mini Cooper and hit Mt Panorama. It'll be just like 1968!

And just to round off the awesomeness, on the 1958 Monza track, you can head through the hay bales and take the massive banked turns. Into the corner at 200kph, through the corner at 197kph, out of the corner at 200kph.

Harry.

I m really tires of the question if GT5 or Shift 2 is the more realistic sim. Who gives a donk - Shift 2 is by far the much more thrilling, andrenline pumping, more spectacular and immersive experience and thats what counts for me. GT5 bores my socks off ever since I first tried Shift 2...
👍👍👍👍

No you're not the only one. I love it too, and I'm a dad too (60 in a couple of days time)) who hogs the Xbox from his 17 year-old son.

Mt.Panorama is one of my favourite tracks. 👍

Yes, legends pack is a fantastic way to stretch Shift 2 life. I did bought this dlc and I'm not regret it.

Really liking the Driver cam now. At launch with the excessive input lag, I was like wtf is this? After the patches I tried again and it's awesome, if only they'd reduce the input lag completely.

I can't seem to stay consistent in this view... How do you guys manage that? I'm always steering because the view has changed, instead of steering because i'm at the turn in point...

Oh... I do "look to apex" myself though, in bumper view...

I'm starting to fall in love with this game. I finally got the drifting down, and it gives you TONS of exp. I realized the Miami course bears incredible resemblance to the Long Beach GP course...especially the drift course with the latter half being COMPLETELY IDENTICAL, but that's not a bad thing. :) i just gotta tune some Scion tCs and have a 16 car mock stars v racers race. lol

For the most part, i've kinda given up on the career at the moment, i'm at 20%. i really want the legends pack, but idk if my fiance will agree with me spending on a game XD

Lightlly tuning cars and racing is very fun. The input lag makes high performance cars out of the question.

Just got my PS3 copy of Shift2 today and I'm really not sure what to make of it.

I loved the (XBox 360) Shift to pieces, especially the Ferrari DLC was pure bliss, but the PS3 version of shift 2 just looks - awful. Really, it does.

I liked to count the stitching on my Astons, but now the interiors look bland and uninspiring. The opponent cars as well.

I'm quite disappointed because the OTT gameplay _and_ the visuals made Shift so sexy and I can't help feeling Shift2 on the PS3 looks dated already. :( Really not a happy bunny right now.

Its the same on the PS3. Or worse. I was banned from a lobby because I kept winning even though I was consistently rammed in the first turn. Do you believe this???

Maybe it struck me because none of the reviews mentioned the differences and I personally thought the days of the console wars were gone.

I hope I can see past the visuals because I rather prefer to have my G25 supported and not switch to the 360 version.

Besides the insufferable comments by that bloke it's Shift business as usual, both the (FIA GT) car list and track list is very good.

I'll give Shift 2 another chance in a couple of days and see if the initial irritation has worn off.

Yes, always amuses me when i get kicked off the next race because I dared to win the last one (fairly, despite people trying to ram me off ).

wow, you sound like you're close to tears.

I was like that...then I had left the game in helmet cam and went to play again without realizing it was in Helmet cam as opposed to regular cockpit and everything just came together. Then I was like, oh it's helmet cam...I guess, just keep looking for your normal breaking points and you eventually get used to the view turning.

The helmet cam is a fantastic innovation, and greatly increases the feeling of immersion.

What platform are you using? On the PS3 there's still noticeable lag which takes the edge of a great game.

Just did that a couple of days ago. Oh how I love those cars and the tracks!!! Present day seems rather antiseptic in comparison. At last, Monza without chicanes! BTW - the Mini's Bathurst win was 1966, not 1968 (IIRC they filled the first six places).

And just to round off the awesomeness, on the 1958 Monza track, you can head through the hay bales and take the massive banked turns. Into the corner at 200kph, through the corner at 197kph, out of the corner at 200kph.

I'd wondered about that. WOO HOO!!!! So can you take the late 50s-early 60s combined oval/road course?

I understood a bit more on why this game rocks.

I went for a walk with the missus to regain some lost credits... obviously I ended up going another way (clothes and stuff do not interest me )

I found a demo chair to play Forza 4 and... guys, for those who complain about bad FFB, imagine having NONE.

Now imagine you have to hold on some wireless wheel playing for 2 hours and the PAIN in your arms after that

I rather have poor (i don't really think its that bad anyway) than none FFB. Shift 2 is an amazing game even in this department 👍

I really like the music in this game, I find it relaxing in a way. Is there a soundtrack I can buy or a list of songs in the game somewhere?

I had a break recently from both GT5 & S2U and then a friend of mine who has always been anti-racing sim bought GT5 for his 8yr son (and then a week later a wheel and peddle set for himself). So I decided to load up GT5 again and send them some cars and set some interesting ones to shared for them to play with.

Then I thought I might as well try a bit of racing. I only managed two dull unexciting and far too easy events before I put in S2U instead.

Despite all the bugs this still really is the very best racing game available on the PS3.

It really gets the adrenaline going. I love the AI - yes they sometimes crash into me (and vice versa) but that is what happens in racing when you have 16 competitors driving on the limit to win.

If only EA & SMS had continued to support this game and iron out the bugs it could have been truly epic.

Its main failing (other than the bugs) is that it is truly a skills based game and as such will always be a niche product as far too many people simply want to be able to win immediately without experiencing the real effort that it takes to be good at racing.

Just had to get that out! Time for some more quick races - yay!

I've been playing "NFS: Shift 2 Unleashed" for a few days now. What I can definitely rave about is just how action packed this title is. It is a pretty intense game. I also enjoy the vast variety of racing venues ranging from the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia (including fictional courses). The car lineup is pretty sweet as well.

Part of my raves also involve cars. I LOVE using the NFS Ford Mustang for drifting! The car is set up beautifully for the drift events with good handling as well as its good power delivery. The Red Bull RX-8 is nice too in drifting, but the back end can (and will) snap on you at a moment's notice. My GT3 car is the Audi R8 LMS. It is very smooth in the corners and goes pretty fast. I also have the Matech Ford GT1. It is also a fast machine with great control.

Maybe what I love most is just imagining the Works-spec cars when you fully trick everything out. "Dream Machine" couldn't be a better term to us in describing cars in Works spec. I haven't built any cars to Works spec, but I can only imagine just how incredible these cars can be when brought up to Works spec.
