Oh crap >: |

And this is why I havent took Rd. 2 seriously.:grumpy:

Bring on TDU2. Good luck to those that can put in the time to only get it reset time and time again. I cant and I havent even put in a total of a 1hr and it still gets me steamed. Just dont be a d-bag when you become a pro racer.:)

I am looking forward to TDU 2 like crazy, but believe me when I say this. TDU had the most grass cutting I have ever seen in a game lol. You could shave off over a minute on some tracks by cutting through the woods hahaha! Or how about jumping off an overpass to land on the highway below you to take several seconds off your time ;)

what's TDU? sorry about the noob question lol

oh Test Drive Unlimited... thanks! i know i definitely need to play more racing games... i've been doing too much FPS's and i just now realized that i need to change my genres because all of the shooting just leads to 'emptiness'!!!!

I just saw it. Pretty much took the wall down on that lap.

Worse, because of that, he's ahead of R1600Turbo in the West! 👎

I went from 4th in the west yesterday on Madrid, to 11th just now. Top times are the same guys that were cheating on Indy. Joke indeed.

Edit: I just checked again, down to 13th! This is getting bad!

DOCTOR_ILL has taken the top spot by wall bouncing. I'm keeping it clean because I'm confident I can still advance. I just feel sorry for the deserving ones that don't.

I just downloaded his replay and watched that. This guy is fast enough to make it without doing that. I don't understand why he can't be a leader and must follow? Shame really. I'm not even going to bother trying to improve my time there since my new Rome time pretty much has me locked in. I just hope they don't change the track tomorrow. :(

R1600, I wouldn't be so sure that a 2:44.1 will make the cut. I'm nervous as hell with where I stand now. I have this sickening feeling that the bouncing will get even crazier and the times will start falling.

I can go faster at Madrid, I might have another tenth or two in me there, so I'm just going to keep an eye on things. But if both of us don't advance, as well as several other fast guys on here because of the wall bouncing, then Sony is going to get an ear full. Literally.

If the bouncers are not DQd.(no reset of times, no new tracks, Effing banned)......its the end of gt5 for me. I may even not get gt6. They had time to get this one right, how do we know 6 will be better. What sucks though is that there are no other racing games that have my interest right now. May have to just stick to kz3.

I read that they never punished the bouncers before. Why can't we just stick to an open track? this is ridicolous

That'll be it for GT5 for me as well. I will finally just get an i racing account.

That may be my only option. To go back to iracing. But i need to get a better wheel then this dfgt, and get a better pc. Playing on a laptop is not the best thing.

I'm just stunned. More cheating. I can't take it. I'm really looking forward to the Weekly Race Series where this **** can't happen.

Would it have been that hard to make touching a wall or 4 wheels off "out of bounds?" I wasn't going to advance past this round anyhow, but this continuous evolution of cheating tactics at new tracks mystifies me.

The graphics requirements aren't that high. I actually played iRacing on my buddy's MONSTER gaming machine, and it wasn't THAT much better than my Lenovo laptop with an bad integrated graphics card.

Also, you might try getting a VGA cable if your TV has a hookup - the resolution is OK, but at least it's blasting on my 46" Plasma 👍

I have a dell xps. The graphics are fine, but the Frames per second says 80 but its more like 15-20 after about 30 minutes. I played using a HDMI cord to my 32 in LCD. The laptop is not overheating, but it gets real choppy in the middle of corners, and the mustang was hard enough in slower corners with out screen probs.lol

I was hoping this wasn't gonna spread but it has already. I spent all day getting a clean lap of 38.844 and then saw someone hop into first that hadn't played the track all day. I followed his ghost and his lap was not at all impressive. I feel bad that i'm spreading this behavior just by having my ghost up there but I'm not gonna lose this round after all this craziness.

That's not a bad setup - my Lenovo doesn't have HDMI, but that would be ideal.

Do you have any other crap running in the background? Like anti-virus software or other stuff pre-installed by Dell? I'm sure you've checked that...

But ya, the Mustang is a beast - I did a few laps in that thing to learn WGI before going there IRL...Mustangs are mystical vehicles that can experience understeer and oversteer at the same time

It honestly shouldn't be that hard to make it so that laps are invalidated when all 4 go off, or when there is a LARGE impact with the walls.. I guess the best defense is a good offense in the sense of really doing work and putting in extremely fast clean laps. I wish it wasn't the case and the fast racers who deserve to move on were given the spots over people who are good, but not the best, but decide to participate in such shenanigans. The system is clearly flawed and we can only hope that PD learns from this. If not, then my faith in the series will have been shaken pretty solidly (more than it has been already).. but yeah, I was already planning on going back to iRacing after this, with any luck I'll be having to practice silverstone! :sly:

+1 👍 Good stuff bro. Even if one decided to wall ride to try and advance, they are taking the risk (the organizors are unpredictable to say the least) of being DQ'd anyway (like the guy who got DQ'd for walling riding in the original GTA TT @ Eiger in 2008), so I think it's best we just take the high road (and stay from the shenanigans) and put in the best effort we possibly can 👍

Same here...for anyone who is truly into simulation driving, iracing is the shiznit. I can't believe so many (very fast drivers to) are still in the dark playing the GT franchise as if it is some true simulator...but maybe it is just the fact that it is so affordable & the vast selection of cars is appealing - but at the end of the day, SO MANY areas of the game are completely lacking.

For me, GT5 has really been exposed as a joke after this competition. Even if you do lap in a "legal" manner, this game is still far from a sim, or anwhere near iRacing's level of realism when it comes to how a car reacts to the tracks different surfaces, among many other areas when it comes to replicating the entire experience of driving a real car on a real race track.

I can't wait to take the FW32 out on Spa. When this is all over we have to try and round everyone up and do some real sim racing :sly:

DOCTOR_ILL also gave in to the Indy cut fairly early. I wish an internet forum mod was on the SCEA team because any forum moderator worth his salt would have brought down the ban hammer after the complaints with Eifel.
