Here's my new...
Yeah, I don't think you're supposed to make ludicrous claims in this thread. This is where you dispute them.:P

Damn... :ouch:

There are quite a few ludicrous claims in that thread. And that's just looking on that one page...

I thought I'd just save sometime and post and dispute my ownership in one post. :sly:

Someone claimed to own an F430 in another thread and within 24hrs odd McLaren proved it was a dealer car for sale.

Man, these kids are getting lazy these days. Just caught one in the "Post pics of your car" thread within 5 minutes of reading the post.

Well done Paulie, you repeated exactly what McLaren said in this very thread! :dunce:

Pics of the stitches with "GTPlanet" written across them in marker, or the surgery didn't happen.

How can I do that when I can barely see the stitches myself?:P It's hard to open the mouth wide enough to have a really good look, just wide enough to check for major bleeding. [/Excuses]

ok, so, if I post pics of Dad's Turbo, with me driving it, and GTPlanet on the hood, does that make up for Paulie as well? I think it should with the alleged amount of notoriety I've managed to build up around here.

I made o photo of Paulie, as he can't do it :

Sorry if this is wrong feel free to delete it.

Ok got one , was in a topic a guy needed help in the setting for his C63 Amg. TwinturboCH shows up tellin all mercs are bad handling cars and slow on the track. Then he lists some time to comoare. Means i think a tuned Porsche Boxster S against Mercedes S65....... ( link to topic:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=184433 )

This is a statement he made: QUOTE=TwinturboCH;4899538]No it doesn't happen in any car. I've driven enough big power rear-drive cars to know how they handle. It's my job FFS. LOL[/QUOTE]

So he gotta be a car tester for an awesome car magazine or working for a supercar manufacturer as tester??
And then he compares such cars to another??

The comparisons are a bit silly, but he has a point; Mercedes aren't all that great on the track even with AMG tacked on the side. They're big, lumbering 4-doors w/ ridiculous amounts of torque & it doesn't translate very well to race tracks. What they are good at though, are being Autobahn missiles.

Wasn't originally going to put this here, but the most recent reply basically compelled me to do so:
Contrary to the 4.0 markings, she is a 4.7... Stroker with a crank out of an AMC

Powertrax No-Slip LSD front and back running 4.10

Lift done by Black Diamond

Fresh set of Kelly Safari Trex (for winter)

High Volume Flowkooler Waterpump

Straight from headers to Thrush Welded Muffler turned out the side custom exhaust.

I haven't clocked her but she'll do at least a 14 second quarter as is. Fast for a truck.
From here.

Most likely someone working as a valet. My friend used to do that. He drove anything under the sun, never a viper though. He and his friends did things with cars that the owners would never do but somehow got away with it.

Wait, he is claiming at least a 14 second (thus hinting at sub 14) with virtually no work done? Those 4.0 make 190hp or something, and the stroker is adding less than 25% more displacement... then drivetrain losses, gearing, and such.

Yeah...

Stroking a 4.0 to a 4.7 increases the output to somewhere in the range of 250-260 hp.

Given 4.10 gears, LSD, and a few power adders, it would certainly have good acceleration, especially if launched in 4WD.

However, I don't think it would be close to 14, since that's just about what a stock 6.1 Grand Cherokee SRT8 does, whereas the stock 4.0 Cherokee does around a high 17.

Just looked at the thread, boy does he seem to actually be confident in his timing. It would be interesting if he would post up a time slip, but I doubt he has one.

You're all joking right? You've practically made it a life goal to prove people to be liars? I can't honestly believe you're huddling about this stuff. Jesus, now I almost feel bad for bringing it up.

Don't hurt yourselves.

Thanks for that explaination , but you make it sound like I had to get them out because I didn't clean them properly- not the case as with 95% of wisdom teeth. Mine were impacted which meant they grew forwards into the teeth in front instead of straight up. I'll never be able to smile like your squid.

Because the 5 minutes of thought I've put into this could be brain damaging. Not exactly a lot else to do at work.

Mostly we just like when people make claims that are out there a bit. More so when the math doesn't back what they are saying and they have no other proof than the seat of their pants. Or some random people they've raced in untimed events where driver error is generally more responsible for times than anything else.

You're at work, and browse the internet instead of actually doing your job, picking apart other people's "claims" using five minutes worth of your brain power...?

You just finished speaking volumes about yourself.

Excuse me while I find the ignore button.

Do you realize how much of the forum posts from work? My job is easy and picking apart your claims takes very little of my brain power.

Right exactly but that is what you have to keep in mind while compairing. But let's wait and see, Mercedes is having an image change, take a look at the new slk, sl, c klasse and best example the sls which is actually a pretty fast on track.
Another point to that is the change in engine doctrine, for years Bmw ran on atmo engines but are switching to biturbo, while AMG useb merc engines, augmented the Bore and put a compressor on top of it. But now they seem to turn toward atmo engines.

What automotive news have you been reading? AMG have been using atmo engines for a few years and are now beginning to turn to turbos for mad tyte fuel efficiency.

Slk 55 first one not getting a comp. C63 no comp, sls no comp. U probably talk about the s65 and sl65.... which was a biturbo V12
Some V8 came as atmos but most were compressor engines and some biturbos.

Well future is to see but the trend went from supercharged to atmo. Will they put turbos on?? Dont know but fact is they removed the turbocharging in favour of engine response on the atmo engine for the "smaller sportier mdels" Slk 55, C55....

No, but we like catching liars and trying to make exponentially bigger excuses for not showing proof.

It's easy:
- You say *I have x* (usually an expensive thing), prove that you have x.
- You say *My vehicle can do x*, prove it.

It's not hard and it's makes you look more respected. From the AUP:

You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate.
Read it yourself.

Look, this is an internet forum. It is just too easy for a 14 year old to claim that he is 30 year old Ferrari test driver and owns a twin turbo F50 etc etc. All we ask when people make far fetched claims is that they back it up with a bit of proof so that we can differenciate the bullcrappers from the people that actually own nice rides. Otherwise, sorry but we won't beleive you.

Add to this your laughable theory that hot air is better for engines and it seems even more absurd that you have any idea what you're talking about.

No proof that this truck does 14s? Then as far as we're concerned, this truck does not do 14's.

Case closed.
