i think i got a clue on the price thing:

Citroën just confirmed they will make the Citroën GT, there will probably 1 or more too win in a contest.

could it be the price thing???

this would be super, no?

check worldcarfans.com

Both of those are fan-made mock ups that have been floating around for years now. I am looking for actual real news. There is none.

It is a fact the PSP2 is coming soon, Sony insiders and games studios have confirmed it.

But that's besides the point, Super Challenge, Dirt 2, F1, Fuel, rfactor 2 and NFS Shift, on the driving side, have all been previewed upto a point, not to mention in house Sony titles such as Gods of War 3.

Zero is known about GT5, just as zero is known about GT Mobile.

If youre talking about the PSP without UMD drive and the new screen, thats not the PSP2, thats the PSP 4000.

None of the games you named had the same preview as GT5, also known as GT5 Prologue.

A big surprise!

Yesterday I went to the mall with my wife and as usual I visited the GAME Store,

which is not my surprise when I see a screen saying:

"BOOK NOW THE GRAN TURISMO 5"

:odd:

Drove me to the counter and asked when would be the date of launch of the game,

after the employee has consulted the computer he answer:

- The game will be release in the 4th quarter of 2009.

Or the GAME Store is doing a stange marketing campaign, or know something we do not know!

You don't have to be a genious to figure this one out: the thread is posted under GT5, so he's talking about GT5. That's it.

i'll check mine soon:tup:

Most pre-orders for GT5 have it done as the 4th quarter, then again not so long ago Play had it as the end of March.

Oh well. I knew it.

Anyway, hopefully we'll get a prologue update before the real thing...

And there are lots of car games coming this year:

Supercar Challenge
NFS Shift
Formula 1 2009
DiRT 2
probably Test Drive Unlimited 2

I wouldnt be too surprised if there was competitions like that (possibly for scale models) but I doubt that is what Amar was referring too. Sorry if it feels like I'm dismissing your idea. 👍

It is a fact the PSP2 is coming soon, Sony insiders and games studios have confirmed it.
You have to give me a link officially confirming anything, because I can't find it.

Unless you mean these:

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/27/sony-dismisses-igns-psp2-rumors-disses-ign/
"Clearly, being a quiet time of year, many, what we thought to be credible websites, are making up stories about PSP2, and how it allows you to teleport across the globe, travel through time, and will be powered by the horns of baby rhinoceroses," Sony explained. "Hopefully, you can sense a mild tone of sarcasm, which should hopefully indicate how 'on the money' IGN are. Needless to say, we don't comment on rumour or speculation, but this is nonsense."

http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/02/25/dave-perry-absolutely-certain-next-psp-will-forego-umd/
Everyone on the internet seemingly has an "inside source" at Sony. Did you know that a forum poster's best friend's cousin works at Sony R&D and TOTALLY wants to spill the guts on firmware 3.00? Yeah. Dave Perry, former COO of now-defunct Acclaim, left a Twitter message claiming to have heard about Sony's next PSP. "I hear Sony FINALLY has the PSP 2. And thank goodness, they've removed the stupid battery-sucking UMD disc drive. I'm excited!"

GameDaily BIZ followed up on Perry's tweet, and it appears Perry is willing to go on record with his statement. "I can't reveal my sources, but you can be certain there's no UMD, which means fully digital online device, and you know I know people."
Maybe that's it? A guy, who does not work for Sony, but does work for Acclaim, says he knows people and so that must mean it is true. I have a feeling that if he had any kind of official channel he would be bound by an NDA.

He even got defensive on Twitter after Sony said they wouldn't confirm or deny what he said.

Now, DP has gone one step further to extend the beef. He just dispatched a Twitter message (or, as they say on the streets, a "tweet") saying, "John Koller is publically questioning my post about PSP 2. So I confirmed with Top PSP 2 developers. John, state that PSP 2 WILL have UMD." Oh snap!

I am not saying that there is no PSP2 on the horizon, in fact I am one to think that there is enough rumor to point to something being on the horizon. But the fact is that rumors of a PSP2 are as old as the PSP itself. The most credible rumors of a PSP2 have turned out to be PSP-2000 and PSP Brite (3000).

well i'm holding on my idea, we'll see when the game comes out
hope too have some news soon :)

I am sorry but just cannot imagine a GT game on the next PSP anytime soon. There are just too many unknowns and unconfirmed speculations.

If the info is anything about a GT on a PSP or a PSP2, I'm going to track down amar and cut off one of his feet for wasting my time.

Well, I'd want to have amar be able to give us the info the instant he's allowed down the road, rather than give us what he has now and lose the ability to give us any later.

Jeez, 30 pages and still no real solid info!
Are you surprised? ;)

Many of us have said that nothing solid is going to come until

The Game Developer Conference at the end of March (least likely to me)

or

The E3 Expo at the beginning of June (most likely to me).

And... what's today's date? Amar is a good SONY soldier. He won't spill anything without permission, and he's not going to spoil any surprises or press conference events. Besides, this thread is for speculation, so speculate. ;)

Edit: here's a tidbit to get the ball rolling.

I expect GT5 to have on the Blu-ray disc game -no download because of massive size:

400 cars and 80 tracks.

I was saying 500 cars, but I realize that over 100 cars in GT2 were tuner versions or race cars. I'd be very happy with this number, assuming Kaz has GT5 coded with a livery editor and bodykit shops in Tuner and Racing Villages. These shops will allow you to take stock street cars and convert them into high performance tuner versions and pro class race cars. And with a livery editor, you'll be able to create your own racing liveries.

I anticipate all the real and fantasy tracks from the previous Gran Turismos, along with a few additions, such as Batthurst and Isle of Man, and scenic courses such as a run along the California Coast. Also, there will be a few Rally racing additions such as point to point. While I'm not certain, I expect weather and damage both will be implemented, along with Season and Career Modes.
