Are you surprised?
Many of us have said that nothing solid is going to come until
The Game Developer Conference at the end of March (least likely to me)
or
The E3 Expo at the beginning of June (most likely to me).
And... what's today's date? Amar is a good SONY soldier. He won't spill anything without permission, and he's not going to spoil any surprises or press conference events. Besides, this thread is for speculation, so speculate.
Edit: here's a tidbit to get the ball rolling.
I expect GT5 to have on the Blu-ray disc game -no download because of massive size:
400 cars and 80 tracks.
I was saying 500 cars, but I realize that over 100 cars in GT2 were tuner versions or race cars. I'd be very happy with this number, assuming Kaz has GT5 coded with a livery editor and bodykit shops in Tuner and Racing Villages. These shops will allow you to take stock street cars and convert them into high performance tuner versions and pro class race cars. And with a livery editor, you'll be able to create your own racing liveries.
I anticipate all the real and fantasy tracks from the previous Gran Turismos, along with a few additions, such as Batthurst and Isle of Man, and scenic courses such as a run along the California Coast. Also, there will be a few Rally racing additions such as point to point. While I'm not certain, I expect weather and damage both will be implemented, along with Season and Career Modes.
Yeah I know, I am just moaning!
You mentioned the Isle Of Mann, damn that would be really amazing for me. I keep meaning to go watch the races over there, as well as take my bike for a spin on the course.
If the Isle of Mann is included, that could suggest bikes may be DLC or an upcoming TT2.
A Le Mans car at the TT will just be mouth watering. Some of the Bigger bikes manage over 200mph on some of the longer stretcheS, as well as some 160mph corners, I can only imagine these corners taken with a Prototype!!
