Man, this is killing me. I've had dreams about GT5 for the last two nights now.
I can just read the headlines now: 'MAN DIES FROM STRESS DUE TO GT5 DELAY'
Okay i'm gonna have somebody help me put my straight jacket back on.
PS: at least i'm not the only one losing it - @flubbachany is seriously looking for clues in the painting.

I wish waiting for GT5 to come out was the most stressful thing in my life

What is stress? Oh, that horrible feeling that surounds pretty much every living human being on the planet right now with everything they do? I prefer to call it "life".:sly:

YAY, we're getting a proper safety car in GT5.:D

Well with the damage we will need the safety car.:sly:

Edit:- In all seriousness who knows whats actually going to be in the game. Well maybe amar does but he is not allowed to say. But he sure has done a great job at giving publicity for GT5. If only amar worked for PD, we might know whats happening then. I mean he made a post full of obscure hints but no facts and yet he has created 666 replies and thousands of views at this count, he sure has helped to re-ignite people's hopes and expectations of GT5. Great job amar, even if you have not really said anything, hey that sounds familiar, maybe he does work for PD.:sly:

Why is eveyone being an ass? Stop making a foal of yourselves.

I bet that donkeys reverse lights don't work. :(

 How much horse power would the donkey have, a donkey is smaller than a horse so maybe 0.7bhp :sly: To actually make a point, I hope GT5 does have working reverse lights, but this along with other cosmetic issue's should only be addressed after all the important issue's, of which there are still quite a few.

you know, although KZ has told us that he wants to suprise us, i really wonder if that is the best way to go, martketing-wise i mean.

anyway, i think that if they do show us damage, wheather effects, new tracks and cars and give a rough estimate of GT5 release date that they would indeed have suprised most of us...perhaps:nervous:...unless they say release is around 2011...that would be less surprising.

Yet i still believe we will get good news, think about it. PD have been at it for so long, don't you think that ONLY adding more cars cannot be the only thing they have been working on? I personally believe (no nothing about south-africa or a map ;)...if you get it) that they have progressed amazingly from GT5P, we have no clue. There will be damage, there will be rain and night time racing, and a lot of other things we could only dream of.

lets try to keep up the faith shall we!

Well Gran Turismo Prologue already has all the information displayed with regards to weather and temperature, maybe they will incorporate this to simulate real day to day weather conditions to where ever you’re racing in the world - on line?

I think this could well be the case, with regards to the weather. They already have the data to implement it, if weather makes it to GT5 ( I am sure it will ) then don't be surprised if accurate weather ( at least at the start of a race, if not dynamic ) is an option to select, for both online and offline. But then again I could be wrong. I think this ( accurate weather conditions, at to the last hour at least ) could be a ground breaking move and one I am sure PD want to do, it just a case of whether they have the resources. Just don't expect night conditions on all tracks, very few actually have the capability of being driven at night ( floodlights ) and there is no way PD will add lights to tracks that don't have them.

I love the idea, however, like you said, not all tracks have lights.

But at the same time, assuming there would be an option to turn on and off dynamic weather, they would have to have that option because being here in the United States, if I ever wanted to race at a Japan track in the middle of the day here, it would always be at night in the game because it would be at night in Japan. It's a fantastic, revolutionary idea, but it has it's limits.

That would be crazy though....."hey there's a typhoon in Japan right now, lets go race at Fuji"! :sly:

With regards to weather and day/night cycles, functional headlights would be great. Then we won't need course lighting to run at night though it would get interesting.

But night/day and weather will only be cool in the GT microscale. I can't see any benefit of linking what's really happening on earth to what's happening in game other than it being a novelty.

i still insist on my bugs on the windshield and the wipers......
i can't wait 'til some more news.....

The options for day/night cycles should be: Player Local (what it is where you are right now)/ Track Local (what it is at the real live circuit right now)/ Set your own start time. Same goes for weather.

Who needs stadium lights? La Sarthe doesn't have any.

I think you'd be surprised how cool it is to start a race and have the weather or time of day set to current track conditions. To be sure, I'm mostly going to be doing sunny, dry, daytime races, but I'll sure give it a shot. You can bet that this would be heralded as one of the big jumps in racing game technology. And on PS3 first? You can't imagine how jealous the other game makers would be.

Food for thought

This is where GT5P gets it's menu weather from

http://www.accuweather.com/

looks like they have all the data to make real time weather possible, I don't know how often the weather is updated though.

A team transporter driving minigame!:dopey:

-> It's so funny to come up various speculations about Amar's post!

~> If the Horse represents horsepower (speed); maybe the Donkey represents torque. I mean, donkeys usually carry the heavy stuff on the roughest/steepest terrain (like those used in the Grand Canyon [not the GT4 track]). So that would mean there will be more Trucks/CUV/SUVs in GT5. :sly:

BT-> Yea, but if PD doesn't show up in GDC, our best hope would be E3 or TGS. :indiff:

its allmost been a month now since Amar started this thread...(feels like 2...)
the oven in his kitchen must be ready to burst open...or is allmost comming to a meltdown...

This "cake" and the "oven itself" will be delyed, like everything else related to GT5.

I believe the term is burnt to a crisp.;)

Here's an idea. Maybe sony are planning on releasing updated versions of GT1/2 with online play?

It could be available for release at the same time as GT5 on the PS Store, but only for people who have had GT5 played on their PS3. As they could be started by a special menu on the GT5 main menu?

Just food for thought.
