In that article it quotes "SCEA’s director of hardware marketing" which seems a bit strange - what has GT5 got to do with hardware marketing?

It won't be on anything other than PS3. You think Microsoft would want a competitor on the same console for the Forza series? Then there is the technical issue of getting the game on to DVD.

If this information is to do about the PR side of the game, then it will be a release date, release of game information, etc. I reckon it would be fair timing for the start of the PR procedure, release of trailers, track, car infos.

Edit: Hardware marketing.

Console bundles.

Gt5 probably couldn't fit on a dual-layer DVD ,forza developper's even recognized that they had some troubles with fitting all the cotent into it !

Please stop the discussion about Gran Turismo coming to Xbox, thats ridiculous.
The game is from Sony, its Sony biggest selling franchise and Yamauchi is the vp of SCEJ.

 Oh thank goodness it's coming to all playstation platforms not Ms. At first I thought of other platforms like Xbox. :irked:

The way I interpreted what was written about GT5's release timing is that they don't want the release to clash with any major games being released on other platforms as well as the PS3.

the only reason why i wiould like to see GT5 on the 360 is to see the sales between forza and GT. and maybe to quiet some forza fanboys in the process.👍

for the record i never made any claims that GT will be on the Xbox. i was just pondering a "what if". with out G25 support it would be pointless any way. that is one reason why Forza is so bad in my opinion. (please do not start a Forza vs. GT battle this is just an opinon and observation.) i couldn't live without my G25 set up.

Your sig is mildly ironic

:sly:

Well I am talking about article that It does not talk about PC xobx or any other console but the PS3 and PSP

Yet right away people jump for xbox conclusion lol

I know some of you did say WHAT IF, but still.

Just because I would love to see PD on PC does not mean I will talk about it lol

No one From SCEA would be breaking news about an exclusive game going to the competition's machine.

The last time someone from anywhere other than PD, the statements were quickly retracted or corrected, IIRC it was from SCEE.

What bothers me... "release...when it makes the most sense"!!!:nervous::nervous: How about AS SOON AS ITS READY! That sounds too much like 'Holding back 'till christmas' :yuck:

I agree. I know there are certain times of the year that consoles and games sell better (like Christmas), and even if GT5 released at Christmas, it wouldn't be overshadowed by that many games....however, with that being said, GT5 could release at ANY time of the year and probably sell just as many copies and consoles with it, just because of the hype and the track record that PD has. They obviously make games that continue to wow the world, and with a game having as much support that it does, it could seriously release in the middle of summer when nothing is going on, and sell millions and millions of copies in my opinion.

Sure, if it did release at Christmas, it might sell more consoles with it.....again however, if it were released in the fall....I think it would be the perfect time for it. Us hardcore gamers could get our hands on it, and then for everyone else that wants it with a PS3 that can't afford it, can put it on a Christmas list or something. Sony would get the sales either way, but the monthly numbers might be split up differently. That's just how I see it, so hopefully what "makes sense" to them is that they would release it when it's finished.

If you want to know what is going on... just ask to Amar: He man! is this "news" what are you holding in your brain? Or something likely?

Jejeje, hope Amar reads this and answers!

By everybody!

Amar won't answer until he has permission to do so. That's how he is trusted to get this sort of information.

OK its March 31st already - I want my worldwide news! No doubt it will be a new pair of pants in Home or something similarly awesome.

I think that perhaps, since this coming from a marketing man, the concern might be that it would hurt the sales of other games. I don't agree with such logic myself, but I doubt anyone within Sony are worried about demand for GT5.
