Ok S-6 PROper physics, who's got Gold?

EDIT: S-6 is what i meant to put :dunce:

Best i can manage is 4th using a Lion's Den setup, i can see how it would be possible but would be a 1 in a 1000 run to do it.

What car did you use? I used the Blitz Dunlop and can get 3rd and 2nd easily. If I want 1st place, it take a bit more concentration, the key is you have to overtake all the other cars as fast as you can or the 1st car will pull away.

S8 is a one car only race, You can only use your Ford GT.

I got a silver in that one (Gold on Standard physics though). The main problem is, the F40 is so difficult to drive and the lead car builds up quite a lead whilst you are fighting through the rest of the pack.

A couple of the license/mission type races are next to impossible on professional physics (M3 at Eiger Nordwand comes to mind). But I think this one is possible, it's just very very difficult.

Man you guys must have 1337 skills to get even silver on s-6, ive got gold on all with pro physics except that one, the m3 time trail on eiger and that other ferrari one where u gotta clear all the cars on one lap. I devoted all day today to s-6 and 3rd was the best ive managed, if only i could get past the tvr and the other f40 on turn 1, i think id have a good chance at gold.

When i first started tackling this event i hated the f40 with a passion, sort of like i still do with the oversteering, understeering all in the same corner tank they call the ford gt, but after spending all day with it, it seems to reward good driving as much as it punishes bad driving.

Hey HouseChampion, i notice your in qld, im in bundy :sly:

If a mod could change my thread title to S-6, that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm working on this one now. I have never done better than 3rd, although I've got that place many times, in fact I can do it about once out of every 4 tries. I even get up to third (the TVR) before spoon and I reckon if I can do that then I'd get 2nd? Nope. Can't catch the second-place Audi, but it's only a matter of time, I'm not one to give up.

I'm using my own F40 tune. You have to be very quick and cannot afford to get held up by traffic for even one second.

I'll go back to A3 at some point and hopefully clear that, I know I can do the time it's just doing it in the event that's difficult!

@wanabgoodbutsuk if you got gold on the F430 Challenge and the M3 at Eiger Reverse....well done. Those are seriously difficult events. I've only got silver in both. I think you're misnamed. How about 'newbutgood'.

(and I'm in Victoria ;-)

On my part, it was probably luck getting Silver (Maybe the 2nd placed car went wide a couple of times allowing me to catch it). I tried it so many times I resorted to standard physics just to gold it.

I'm going to have another go at in a bit actually. Although I hate driving the F40, it's so frustratingly hard.

Hi raceur, no i have not got gold in those events, all others except those ones and s-6. I chose my name when i was all pi$$ed off at myself for not being able to gold a3 on Pro physics, cause i know ive done it before but just cant get it done now :indiff:

Post your setup and ill give it a go, im using a slight variation of this one https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3190532&postcount=32

I just turned abs off and changed brake bias alittle

Like I said I would, I had another go at this yesterday. Was able to finish within half a second of the Audi after a number of attempts with a good, clean lap (Then I gave up), but I was still 3-4 seconds off the GTR (Take note i'm far from the best driver here, but 3-4 seconds off?!). Either i'm doing something wrong, or it's impossible on professional physics. :indiff:

Silver is very possible, just quite difficult.

I could imagine, if the GTR Black Mask made a mistake (Onto the grass/gravel somewhere), it would be easily done. But even though the AI can go off the track, it doesn't happen often. You'd still have to nail the lap just to beat the Audi.

I'll change it now, but you can change it yourself by editing your first post, then clicking on advanced edit. Or clicking on thread tools, then edit. Or by double clicking the space next to the thread title in the forum list.

Thx Daan.

I spent another couple hrs on it yesterday, can pretty much get 3rd everytime but no further, my best lap was a 2:27. I can get up to 6th by degner and the next 3 positions are pretty easy to pass by 130r but 2nd and 1st are always to far ahead. I guess you would have to be right behind 2nd coming out of spoon to have a shot at gold, but i have no idea how that would be possible.

Decided to the the Lion's Den tune. Better than my own, so I'm edging closer to silver. Ran 2.26s quite often, high 2.25s. Where I think I'm losing time is Dunlop, I find it difficult to keep the throttle wide open there. I'm right on the tail of the 3rd-placed TVR out of the hairpin and pass through 200R, but I can't catch the Audi. I think I need to be passing cars 4 and 5 before or at Turn 9 rather than the run down to the hairpin.

This is my only bronze out of 57 events so it's annoying!

I cant keep it flat up and around dunlop either, have to lift a tiny bit, same with 200r. I did find shortening 2nd just a tiny bit on that lions den tune made me faster. Maybe they need to patch it, gold doesnt seem possible on pro physics. How did you do that A class event with the ferrari where you have to pass all cars on 1 lap? i cant get higher than 3rd on that on also.

Finally managed a silver, got the R8 at the last minute on the exit of the chicane. Funnily enough it wasn't what I would have classed as my best run, but the A8 wasn't as far ahead of the 3rd-placed TVR as it normally is coming out of the hairpin. Took the TVR on 200R, was quick through Spoon, threw caution to the wind on 130R and...done. Time was around 2.24.3. I had previously run 2.24.5 and been just under a second adrift.

Tips:

1. Swing wide as you do the initial overtake to avoid being bumped by the Ferrari

2. Go around the outside of the Lexus into the first turns. You should be parallel to the TVR which slots in and gets out of the way.

3. Next left-hander and then into the right you can get by the F40 and exit on the outside of the Mercedes

4. Take the M3 on Dunlop. Hopefully you'll be close to the gaggle of three ahead now.

5. To stand any chance of 2nd you need to be exiting the hairpin on the tail of the TVR in 3rd.

Yep it's a fun race. I'm using a Logitech too, no clutch. I'm not up to Gold at the moment, silver's difficult enough.

Still nobody posted who has Gold on pro.

I tried it with abs on and was able to touch his masked bumper *** after 3 tries. LOL I just dont feel like trying it anymore to get first since GT5 is so close to coming out.
