Yeah, it was good to join in with the muscle car madnes at last.

Reverse grid at Bathurst with 14 cars, whose idea was that?

Just to clarify Joe, front and rear spoilers/body kits are OK if they don't physically (a slider) add downforce?

Aero kits are fine Paul just no aftermarket wings.

Having said that..:D seeing as you ask, I've been thinking about including the "Special Wing" that you can buy for the Mustang for the Mach 1 track. I think it's fine as it suits the car and the track. So for one time only the "Special Wing" is good to go for your priceless wee Sally in a couple of weeks.

Jocke gets special dispensation of course ;)

@IfAndOr drove well in race 2, I couldn't shake him for most of it, and at one point in the downhill section I braked really hard and pretty much stopped in front of Paul, you should've seen the lag in front of me. I saved my replay for race 2 if anyone wants to see it. I had a few of those infamous "car 40 feet in the air in front of me"'moments. I forgot to save race 1 as usual.

I have no idea what happened in the narrow section on lap 1 of race 1 but I feel like I caused that crash since I was the first one who spun out it seemed, and I only spun since everyone lag-stopped in front of me, and then I blocked the whole track and cost Colin, Suts, Autope and others a decent finish.

I think everyone knows how I feel the "if you hit you wait" rule is the stupidest rule ever and my absolute least favourite part of online racing. It just is totally against the spirit of racing, and it isn't even that gentlemanly really. Then again, I just try to avoid hitting people in the first place so it's not a problem. The rule should be "if you hit, expect payback at some point". I'm happy John is in the series since every series needs a Harsk, and John is basically Harsk's twin with the addition of having a Mic (which I muted immediately). Saying that though John raced me completely clean last week and I didn't see him this week.

Also Autope knocked me off in the fast section of Race 1 somewhere around lap 6-8, was that lag or not, anyone want to watch the replay and see?

Also 2: Jammy said at the start of the series he'd only be racing Silverstone and Bathurst so I don't think he's withdrawing because of the quality of racing or anything.

EDIT - I remembered there's a rule I hate more; "it's the responsibility of the following car to make the pass". NO.

Nobody minds a bit of contact blue, think of the mileage we've done together over the years and despite your view on the rule, I can't remember a time you've had to exercise it.

Race 1 lap 1 was a lag induced pile up, **** happens, no biggy.

Race 2 Paul and I got shuffled wide by autope into the final corner, then I got taken out into the first corner. Hard to tell who hit me but it could have been avoided with a little patience and some gentlemanly conduct.

Watching the replay of both races shows some questionable maneuvers. Hope this doesn't continue as nobody wants to see people with penalties.

I'll try my best if I could find time to races but I just can't give you any promises. Ok?
Do you mean you'd like to withdraw Jammy?

Hmm...this sound interesting...maybe this is one race I could join...

I think it's fine as it suits the car and the track. So for one time only the "Special Wing" is good to go for your priceless wee Sally in a couple of weeks.

Just watched the replay and I made little contact with you when you brake very early before corner and surprise me (start of lap 3). Then in the corner IfAndOr spun and I got between you and IfAndOr. Then CrazyJohn hit us from behind and it seems there was also some lag as IfAndOr just fly to the grass (that's how it showed on my replay).
Race 2 Paul and I got shuffled wide by autope into the final corner, then I got taken out into the first corner. Hard to tell who hit me but it could have been avoided with a little patience and some gentlemanly conduct.

I love Legend racing. Seen them go at Knock Hill RT in Fife, several times. What a great sound they make! I think they are in P Cars - must check.
Thanks for the set-up; I'll have a go with it Fad.

@jammy21 I hope you will join the races at Motoyama Speedway.
It wouldn't be the same without you.

If nothing else I wish CrazyJohn would respect the radio silence during
the races until everyone has seen the chequered flag. Same goes for texting.

I don't know about anyone else but I just love the Motoyama/Nova combo.
Thanks a lot, Joe. Feels like it's been years since I created that track.
If the OMCM hadn't gone there the speedway would likely have become
another Atlantis, a lost circuit forgotten by time.

There was some mention of rear spoilers on the pit straight
I had a small wing back there and was oblivious to the ruling against it.
What I remembered from the introduction was that it said 'tune how you want'.

However when CrazyJohn pointed it out to me at the early stages of race #2 I realised
my car was illegal and I decided to park it.
Won't happen again.

While I have time, just to make sure I'm reading you right:

Using your logic, if I knock you off (due to lag that you didn't experience or through a distraction or misjudgment) then you'll chase me down for payback in a couple of laps time?

If I see anyone, for any reason, giving "payback" – which I read as deliberately repaying what was done to them – they'll be out. I can't believe I'm even having this conversation. This is meant to be fun and there's talk of payback! People can be distracted, experience lag etc and easily knock another off. If we had half the track full of the "payback type" and the other half full of "Johns" then there would be chaos, especially on our user-created tracks. Unbelievable.

I think on that tricky track Mount lots of us made bad move that could have been by accident or not. Anyway I had a good fun racing with all off you.
And about rules and regulations I let Joe handle it I trust him and I'm sure he'll take the goods decisions.

Let's keep it clean and fun ;-) and remember that race incidents happen ;-)

Thanks for a great track for our next race, and a great video of our last meet Jocke. "another Atlantis" - lol. :) I like the contrast in your video between the high revving, fast moving cars, and the big dramatic guitar tones - s'nice.

No, it's judgement obviously, it's not hard to tell when someone hits you intentionally, then it's an eye for an eye. I've only paid someone back 2 or 3 times in the 2 years I've been racing online (2 of which were to Harsk) since that's all the times that someone has intentionally hit me. I'm not changing how I think for anyone. I hold lifelong grudges. Remember I come from a background where the main method of passing someone is bumping them and hoping you're fast enough to get away before they can bump you back.

You have led a sheltered life on-line Blue; I could not count the number of times I have been deliberately hit, especially in Quick Match, it must be in the hundreds. I will admit to waiting to give the offenders a taste of their own dirty tricks on two occasions, and both times I still came off worst from the contact - lol, so I decided just to leave the rooms where the nutters were, which I usually did anyway.

Well that's quick match, which are pretty much entirely populated by dirty drivers/people who ran out of credits, that's normal there.

Also I wish Legends were in PCARS, that would be amazing (they are in iRacing though). Funny you say you love the sound, my parents and especially my mom gets an instant headache as soon as they come on track, and the high pitched whine sticks in my ears for hours later. I used to find Legends racing boring but I've come to appreciate it more. It's just funny how a car designed to run on 1/4-1/2 mile ovals is running on some of the famous road courses of the world. And with mostly the same basic rules also.

Speaking of Legends here's a video of Legends in their natural habitat from a few years ago at my local track. Don't know why there's so few cars though, usually there's at least 20.

I'm guilty too but just apologised and gave the place back. Easy.

Thanks fad, I couldn't catch you last night so it's obviously a good set up. You always race really hard but are gentlemanly at the same time. Perfect combo.

I'll try my best if I could find time to races but I just can't give you any promises. Ok?

Of course, just misread your intention Jammy. Always welcome.

If nothing else I wish CrazyJohn would respect the radio silence during the races until everyone has seen the chequered flag. Same goes for texting.

Yes, the occasional "Oops," "Sorry" or similar is fine but otherwise no commentary/chat until all have finished. Your mic is very loud John.

I had a small wing back there and was oblivious to the ruling against it.
What I remembered from the introduction was that it said 'tune how you want'.

My bad for not making it clearer! Sorry John, jocke and all. But you could bring out a Ferrari jocke and I wouldn't care.

No, it's judgement obviously, it's not hard to tell when someone hits you intentionally, then it's an eye for an eye.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the situation; some are clever at disguising it. I've experienced it many times and it's not the kind of driver I want in my rooms. Shows a lack of maturity. In our races, I'm more interested in the over-keen driver who 'knock offs and saunters on'. If a driver thinks that's right, fair enough. If that's the vibe of the room, all power to them. But that's not what I'm trying to create here. An "eye for an eye" lol. When you get to my age blue and you're still thinking like that – "I'll never change for anyone" – you'll regret carrying that train of thought with you for as long. As an aside, it's weird though, I look in the mirror and, more and more each day, I look like my father, and I wonder where that 17-year-old boy is, the one who insists on living in my head.

You have led a sheltered life on-line Blue; I could not count the number of times I have been deliberately hit, especially in Quick Match, it must be in the hundreds.

It's happened to me a lot in online lobbies and in the heat of the moment it's hard to judge what just happened so I'd usually save the replay. Then I can see the tricks some use. When it happens I get pleasure from beating them cleanly. Great buzz and recommended:D

Oh dear, I've only joined in for one race and there's discord in the thread! :dopey:

"The Rule" - Treat other drivers the way you'd want to be treated yourself.
The other rule should be I think - if you know you've accidentally knocked someone off the track and that it could have been avoided then you give them the place back at some point if the chance arises. Sometimes if you end up loitering around waiting for the unfortunate driver to get back on track you can end up causing more accidents. At times it might be best to wait until the end of the race, apologise and report yourself to Joe for review.

Racing knocks and bumps go on all the time, I find it's best just to shrug them off. I myself don't hold grudges, there's always another race. And there's more to life than GT6 anyway.
I, like Blue, also try to avoid the contact whenever I can. There's more fun in racing than winning, although winning is good too I expect! :)

Yes it was good following you @bloodyboyblue in race two, your pace made me faster.👍 Although trying to keep ahead of you if I knew you'd got a grudge against me would make me faster still. :sly:

I realised my car was illegal and I decided to park it.
Oh that's a shame. I'm sure Joe would have let you off. The wing was probably making you understeer more anyway!

as IfAndOr just fly to the grass
I did seem to being doing a lot of that. :boggled:

Ps hope you like the pic(s).
Yes I did, they are all very good. 👍

And I wonder where that 17-year-old boy is, the one who insists on living in my head
Behind a "toy" wheel playing a racing game on his PlayStation? ;)

but otherwise no commentary/chat until all have finished. Your mic is very loud John.
Wow. On race 1 I said something when I finished the race. Okay, agree with that.

But on race 2 EVERYONE was talking through his mic until the 15 minute mark I think.

How about me not talking on a mic throughout the rest of the season?

If we had half the track full of the "payback type" and the other half full of "Johns" then there would be chaos, especially on our user-created tracks. Unbelievable.
Now what are you actually trying to point out about my driving, after JUST ONE RACE OUT OF 4 WEEKS?!

If nothing else I wish CrazyJohn would respect the radio silence during the races until everyone has seen the chequered flag. Same goes for texting.

As I said above I agree on talking when I ended the 1st race, and am apologising to the public. However everyone did not respect the "on the race keep chatting to a minimum" rule on Race 2.

It just is totally against the spirit of racing, and it isn't even that gentlemanly really.
I was going to say that, as crashing somebody beforehand does not show sportsmanlike behaviour, and giving the place back does not fix anything.

Well this is fun. Perhaps we should take this off-line to prevent the thread looking like a war-zone, and putting off potential new drivers.

It's already bloodycrazy Colin. I've received too many messages already about the above, even from racers not in this series, and every one to a man has said exactly the same thing - it's utter tosh. So I've made my mind up, I can't entertain this any longer.

At times it might be best to wait until the end of the race, apologise and report yourself to Joe for review.

..and you know me Paul, I probably wouldn't bother doing anything (if the person who got knocked off wasn't upset).

Cool.

Moving on, how's everyone's prep for jockes tricky motoyama circuit going?

It's s very cool circuit to look at, and a rewarding circuit to get right. Racing there is great fun and should be quite a spectacle.

Looking forward to this one.

It was great last night with a few in the room. Watch out for fad, he's quick there. I've just opened a room to set up my car. For some reason it seems the Nova and Jocke's track were meant to be. I might even go as far as to say it's in my top 3 of best tracks ever along with Bathurst and Silverstone (yes, Paul!). It's a pure delight and very satisfying, but with 10 cars on the grid, who knows, I'll probably be all over the place again.

Had a run at all the tracks when the series was announced. Haven't been there in s while now, and car probably needs some work.
I'll put an hour or two in during the week and see if I can get it any better.
Just need to get my heart rate under control- I'm sitting eating lunch in Princes Street gardens and the 1 o'clock gun has just caught me off guard!

and you know me Paul, I probably wouldn't bother doing anything (if the person who got knocked off wasn't upset).
Exactly. It's all hopefully a bit of fun in the end.

Are you running Jocke's track with the penalties on low or high? There's some liberties that can be taken at the wiggles. We had a fun RR race there in the Z8 fairly recently.

Just need to get my heart rate under control- I'm sitting eating lunch in Princes Street gardens and the 1 o'clock gun has just caught me off guard!
Be no good for me then!

I was actually thinking of you when I was typing it Paul!

No matter how much you get used to hearing it, when it goes off, you don't half get a fright when you're not anticipating it.

Back
