Online event update

The new track choices are better but why are the PP Values so high?.... Why not a Susuka PP600. It just isn't fun to me to have cars pushing that much horsepower with 12 people pushing you around. I was doing quite well before this latest patch now I always finish 4th or further back. I don't race to always win, more to have fun but damn it isn't much fun dodging punters and climbing out of sand pits/walls/ramming penalties when they cut me off so that I cannot pass/ and short cut penalties after being rammed into the grass. On top of that the car gets slower if I do get in the lead. If am slower than other drivers in a race I always pull over to the right so that they can pass. But even then they will sometimes bump me like a cop would in a hot pursuit and plant me into a wall, yes even when I was letting them pass me.

I can tell you now that if they don't make vast improvements on the GT5 game then I am out and GT5P will be the last of the series I ever buy. So far this game sucks. My GT4 has been seeing some serious hours lately because of the BS online in GT5P. I think that I would have been happier with GT4 in 1080P and an online function.

Before this update I was finishing consistently 1st or 2nd in the Pro races. Maybe I really am not that good after all.

Peace guys....

How many players/cars???

rolling or standstill start???

12 players, standing starts if I remember correctly.

I've personally always gravitated toward the higher PP races, but I welcome the addition of 800pp HSR. We ALWAYS have 600pp, it's time to mix it up a bit.

I dont know if many people realise this but many PP600 cars are now able to race competitively in PP750 because of the new tyre PP values.
Although I do wish they would bring back PP500/550.

may I suggest you pull over to the side of the track at the start and let the race past before you start your - bumbling round in slow motion - shenanigans.

I just started 3rd directly behind a 512BB at 500PP and it was so slow i came within inches of hitting them and they were TRYING to move out the way! If i had used an AWD i wouldve certainly been in his backside because it was so slow on the pickup.

However i do like the new events (bar F2007 i dont care about that), my Viper finally stand with its head held high above almost all the competition. No more GTRs slowing me down at every apex :) yay!

750 PP? It's a rather lame class now if you ask me, where are the real word sorts car races with around 300kw or less and sports tyres?:grumpy: Now I need to figure out what cars to use, I doubt I will ever try for something fast, I've had enough of the Tuned cars and GT-Rs and F430s etc running super high power and race tyres to last me a while.

totally agreed. lets see some rx7's and 350z's.

I'm happy to see the F2007 at Suzuka event, but the others don't interest me. I was hoping for a 600pp or lower event. Somewhere I can take a stock STi out and have a bit of fun.

Now all you have is fast-faster-fastest races! Really know place to take a break, from the speed. Should have been a 500pp race like HRS. Sooner or later, everybody gets there type of races. This update just isn't for me!

Sorry you don't like it, but this fast, faster- fastest is exactly why I love it!:dopey:
There should be more variety though, I have to admit. Also PD shouldn't take away the old events every time. I just had such a nice tune for daytona600!:(

I've just realised there are no 600pp(ish) events now so, Just in case the integra fans I ran into (literally) on Fuji last night decide they absolutely must crawl round the track, may I suggest you pull over to the side of the track at the start and let the race past before you start your - bumbling round in slow motion - shenanigans.

I was tripping over you guys for the first two sectors of lap one last night and that was after I managed to recover from the (worse than usual) carnage you caused at T1. The last thing you need when screaming into a hairpin braking zone at 140mph+ is a roadblock of (to all intents and purposes) parked vehicles. I counted about 6 and every one screwed up my race worse than the punters did.

Be warned - if you are in front of me in a shopping trolley and you even look like your going to go for the racing line I will punt you the hell of the track. The alternative is I go flying off the road, braking too hard on the wrong line in a 500bhp MR flying machine and I don't see why I bloody should.
Great post, best i've seen anywhere today! Funny, vicious and so from the heart

Has anyone noticed a sort of "fluxuation" with the physics are 750pp Suzuka?

I mean, when I was doing a free run, and using a Mines BNR34, it felt as if I was on STD physics. Handled ridiculously easy, and rarely ever understeered (or is it oversteered?). But when I went online, it felt like as if I was on PRO physics. I had another race soonafter, and it felt like it was on STD physics.

Anyone have this happen to them?

That's the boost/handicap (or Rubber Band Effect -- RBE) for you.

If you are leading and the distance to the last place car is large enough, the game will pile on extra weight for you, with the expected detrimental effect on the handling. Conversely, if you are far enough behind the leader, you'll start putting in blistering laps.

(Note: it is not confirmed that the boost/handicap is implemented by adding/subtracting weight, but it does affect car performance in all areas, and has a measurable impact on lap times.)

it takes like 5 tries before the game finally makes me a host for the f1 event...then only 1 other person joins. Gee, what fun that is...

This is perhaps the best example of why they don't support 20+ events active during a given cycle.

Well having some vacant events would be give by me! It would make it easier to get races that are all GTP members.

he whas driving in free run...so no boost effect there...:)

@Zheng1337,understeer is sliding out the corner via front wheels, over steer, over rears...👍

spyrrari.

It's possible I misread, but he stated varying performance between free run and from one online race to another:
free run -> felt like STD
online -> felt like PRO
online again -> felt like STD

He didn't state if he was leading or trailing in his online races, but variable performance in online runs is common and has been attributed to RBE.
