Does bumping the car infront going up the hill after the 130R considered acceptable? Give them a push and in return get a tow? I found my lap times drop approx 1/2 sec. đź‘Ť

Hey, Vaxen and Hoot! Nice race at Suzuka 600pp. I tried to catch up to you guys, but my damn steering wheel pulled off the desk again mid-lap. I was lucky enough to make it to the finish line.

DR

Yes it was and I would have won if Vaxen wouldn't have put that sweet pass on me at the chicane on the last lap.Great fun getting a GTP 123 finsh and very clean. I'm still a bit rusty but I think I'm getting better, and racing the few GTPers that I have I'm already getting faster in the PP600. I havn't done much PP750 cause I want to get alittle cleaner in the faster cars. Hope to race some more tonight.

Bump Drafting - TheMoose and I have done this in the past. Apparently this is quite a common NASCAR technique and works quite well in the game from what I have seen so far.

IMHO, it is ok to to this, but I would only do it with people I "know" so that there is an understanding and they dont think you are trying to punt them.

BTW this works quite well coming out of turns as long as the bump is not too hard.

Is anyone intersted in a tournament or something similiar?

For example we could select a certain time and evening, a certain car with equal setup, and then we run 5 races in a row, Suzuka, HSR, Daytona, Suzuka, HSR, then we tally up all the points and whoever has the most is the champion.

Anyone intersted in something like this?

Sounds fun. Obviously would still have other people in the race, but that is fine. Only issue I see is what if too many try and join the race and get pushed back to another one. With enough people, might have two races at each spot, thus, possibly two first place, second place and so on.

Yes, I thought about that and decided it would be best to run this on a Tuesday evening in either 500 or 600pp.

Friday evening and the weekends are too packed, and 750pp is always the most popular.

If some drivers still get put into a second race it will be up to them to keep track of their finishing positions, and they will get points as well. Or if you are talking about if we get 20 drivers signed up then we may have to split them up into 2 or 3 different schedules where they run different tracks at different times but they all end up running same tracks but just at different times so we don't all try and fit into one race.

Quitters are another thing that can cause problems. If someone quits a race then we will just have to scrap that particular race.

I will try and make this similiar to the WRS, with different car and track combinations every week.

The first race will be May 19th. All the details will be in the thread when I post it. If it turns out to be a disaster then it will stop. If it succeeds then I will keep going.

This does sound interesting. But business has gotten BUSY again, so I probably won't be able to make it. I'll definitely keep track of this and join in if I can managed the spare time.

I just raced PS-City, what's the fuss all about it? Put 9 seconds on him in 3 laps. He's in no way godly fast.

You the man! :) I just got run down by him after he went off in turn 1 at Suzi, then on lap 2, he shoved aside in the Dunlop. I'm glad someone from here knows how to put him away. I need to go back to work on my driving ... hmmm .. where'd I put my Sparcos ...

I wouldn't say he's godly fast. But he is the best combo of fast and dirty I've come across.

I was in one of those 750 Suzuka races when you pulled on the field. I was running with cudadude when PS-City caught us. It wasn't long after that he and cudadude were in the gravel. I didn't see exactly what happened, but it didn't surprise me that someone in PS-City's vicinity end up in the sand.

Hats off to you for some fast driving though. It's hard for someone to play rough when you're so far in front!

Sounds like alot of Fun Earth.

BTW May 19th is my B-day so.....i'll keep ya posted lol. idk what we are doing yet.

Also check out the challenge we got in the other section of Events.

Anyone who drives through people will appear fast because no one is left to race with when they are all in the sand!! Takes no skill to drive through people as far as i'm concerned. Any of us could just punt people and look fast all day long!! Hard to lose when no one is left on the track lol.

I think wonderwilley is a bit of a punter (Eng.). He's also punting and braking just a touch later than anyone in front, which sends them wide or out onto the grass/dirt. Dirty racer with some very quick times. I think somebody wanted to invite him to GTP and to the forums, I say: don't.

Just had a series of good races with GTR_Fido (thanks!) in the 500pp HSR and Suzuka tracks. Pretty empty out there tonight so far. First time out with my new Lancia - not a bad machine but like most I choose it seems a little underpowered compared to other cars in the class as I keep losing massive ground in the straights and have to make it up in the bends. I have a couple recordings, but I expect they will be too boring to post. I'll let you know if I do.

i JUST HAVE TO VENT AFTER AN UNSATISFYING NITE OR RACING, People, if you screw up your line and go wide, and the driver behind you takes advantage of that mistake, just deal with it! dont come crashing down on them. If your faster than the passer you'll get them back, if not too bad, he was gonna pass you anyways.
this really isnt meant for the folks that come to this website, but i had to put my feelings down.
as usual Drama Kid was the classiest guy on track, i wish i had his patients.
Heli Eric, thanks for the bump, that green s2k punted me in the esses on the 2nd lap and i was driving my hardest to return the favor. lucky for me i didnt catch him and i was calmer by the next race.

He already is a member here

I would like to go online and race him, but I have no idea where to find him because he doesn't use this thread.

So many times I have been caught or I have caught a GTP member because they rather wait to make a clean pass then hack through the field. Just because by the time you reach 2nd someone is 6 seconds ahead in first doesn't always mean they're quick, sometimes it means they didn't lose anytime passing cars because they just pushed them all out of the way.

Several times a fast dirty driver has pushed me out of the way and cost me several seconds which I was never able to recover from, so I understand your point.

Just be thankful the AWD cars like the Lancer X and Nissan GTR aren't as competitive in 750pp as they were in 700pp, otherwise you would have fast guys with superior turn speed running you over through the corners even more often.

Yeah nice move on turn 1 Zodicus and thanks for ending my race and riding off into the sunset

I also raced this Wonderwilly and he's pretty fast but also rams you off track with no second thoughts đź‘Ž

Double dipping tonight, huh Ron?

I've taken about 2 weeks off from driving-my work is very hand-labor intensive lately, and driving in the evenings gives them no rest. I'll be back at it soon.

Great racing you tonight GTP_Div on Suzuka 600 you are seriously fast on the NSX. How close was that one race were you took a hit in the hairpin on the last lap and we came within 0.066 sec apart !! Good stuff.

oh, MR_P! I'm sorry if I caused you alarm on the track earlier. I had lost control (just caught grass on the rear left on corner entry and was fighting to keep control. I saw you brake too late and fly off into the dirt because of me! It was a bit of a moment for the both of us I think :P

Yes, I rarely race on 600PP, I was glad to finally find some competition. You were definately fast, I was surprized at how late you could brake, keep it up.

Been racing a few NTSC guys tonight @ Suzuka in PP600 ... Grand Prix, rmk700 and a few other GTP guys, some great races there and most of it nice and clean give or take the odd scuffle  had host quit a few times when i was pulling away and those always get a nice ffs echoing around my front room :P

@ Rob you cant half shift in the 512bb  Cheers mate đź‘Ť

Hehe, thanks. It's a fun car to use, you should use yours more often. đź‘Ť

Anyone else want to do Suzuka 600PP?

Lots of good clean racers out there tonight. I think the scene is cleaning up a bit. Maybe the kiddies who like ramming things are moving on the bigger and (for them) better things like Grid. The only black spot was on HSR at 11:00 in the 750pp race. Some guy named gtfan0 or gtfando was a complete jerk and ended up ruining the race for everyone by taking out anyone threatening his lead position. The good news is that I quit 1/2 way through the final lap and managed to get out of sync with him and move onto a smaller group running clean races.

Wow that was a blast! Finally got to race with THEE Mr P đź‘Ť and a bunch more fast ones.... wonderwilley (screamer), Grand Prix and Takata Dome.

I just did everything I could to stay caught up.. It's very hard to overtake from a draft when your all so damn fast.

Hey CWR and Achilles. Great race on Suzuka. That was my first time around Suzuka in the Ferrari F430, so I was taking it pretty easy. The couple of offs you guys had gave me the race, but by rights it should have been yours. Achilles, you must have had a penalty just at the end because you had me for sure then ghosted and slowed down to a crawl. I have video of that race and might put it up if it came out decent.

I was following TheMoose for 2 and 3/4 laps and he ran wide coming out of 130R and his car was just fishtailing like crazy and he blocked me squarely while I was under braking so we touched and lost 1st & 2nd to some Skyline. I followed him like that for 2 races straight. A little dissapointed not to have a proper 1-2.
