Hi all,

Looks like I'm today's whipping boy. :(

Let me start by apologizing to everyone. I don't punt intentionally!!!! If I think I'm even related to someone going off, who for instance, may have been along side in a turn, I stop and let them by. And, no, I don't like being beaten, but I don't slam *anyone* just because I do lose (often). I think the issue with putty is that I happened to grid behind him in every race, he's slower than most of the field behind, so I wound up close on him, every race, biding my time for an opening, and in the mean time the field ran up on me, slammed me, and sent me into putty. Let me make it clear, if I (unintentionally) punt someone, I stop. It's that simple. It also shows what's bad about a reverse grid. I have a lot of respect for putty's driving, so, *sorry*, man.

As to cudadude, I feared he'd take my ramming him as an assault, but it wasn't. The previous lap it felt like I was hit from behind as I turned into the Casio triangle, not hard, but it appeared that cudadude had left his braking a little too late. I understand, it happens. It didn't seem to me that he was inside, and that the hit was from there. But, that's beside the point. I know he races clean, so getting banged around now and again is fine. On the next (last) lap, I saw him take a penalty ahead at the exit of the triangle, but it also appeared that he backed off after the penalty. I thought perhaps he was making a late acknowledgement of sending me off the previous lap, which I didn't think he needed to do, so I lined up behind him, to finish after him, but he'd slowed a bunch, so it was a hard hit. The end result was as I'd wanted, he finished ahead of me. Seriously. I wanted to PS message you to that effect, but you left the circuit and I didn't have the exact spelling of your ID.

As to redline's complaint, I can't really say I remember any incidents, but when I'm driving a low powered car, like the Mitsus, and the only advantage they have is getting off a corner fast, I change to a *defensive* driving line. That doesn't mean banging, weaving and bumping. It means protecting the inside line and closing the door (not slamming it). All I can think is that change in driving style is a little of a surprise to those who *know* I leave room in a corner if I think someone is attempting anything close to a legitimate, workable, possible, non-bansai pass. So, I'll take special care in the future. Sorry.

Anyway, I'll back off a bunch. I'm not playing to make enemies, and I believe stongly in fair racing. I can't wait for car damage to be implemented.

well, your family now. no hard feelings here.

Its amazing how most of the people we complain about on here end up joining, apologizing and becoming great racers! Now all we need is Coachcabbage to find this forum...

Well guys. I've been not "in the zone" all evening so far. I might give it one more try on HSR or maybe Suzuka in the 600pp races in a few minutes here and then call it an evening.

Welcome aboard Eric and glad to have you as a GTP_er. I only post it as I see it and was not to bash as I respect you're skills on the track. I am also very competitive and understand that rubbing is racing and am not one to complain about such normally. I guess sometimes it gets the best of all of us. I appreciate your post and I think we all will look forward to racing next to you in the future. I too had to "cool my jets" a bit in the short time I have been here but have learned alot from the talented members of this forum. Good luck to you and hope you enjoy GT Planet! See you on the track:)👍.

I just had an incredible race with tougeattack (first time I've ever heard of or seen him, but he was good and clean) at Suzuka 750pp. Back and forth dueling and we didn't make contact once! The whole field was awesome, I started at the back, and made most of my passes on the outside and didn't get punted once! I'm going to make that my last race of the night so I go to bed on a good note. Great racing with everyone tonight!

Good race Digital Relay, unfortunately I understeered off on the last lap because of the changing physics, grrrr!

That was good fun. I was actually looking forward to a 1-2 finish like we should have had the previous race when the host dumped out. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. :sly:

Racing was pretty good tonight. Still lots of guys that think they can pass in places where they just don't have position yet, but not too many blatant punters where I was.

Drama_kyd - just soes you know it wasn't me ... from where I sat, you were 4 to 5 car lengths ahead at the exit of the Spoon curve when I saw your rearend step out to the right, then the whole car snap to the right. I wasn't near. Great job taking on PS_CITY!!!

Redline - did I get in the way while recovering after the Casio? I was trying to stay well to the left of the racing line, but all of a sudden I felt like I was swarmed by you and PS_CITY. It's a bummer if I did, because someone had to take it to PS_CITY after I flubbed it.

To all, - thanks for the welcome! I'm looking forward to a lot of fun racing, and don't hold back on the suggestions ... :^} I'll eventually get it.

yea it was all me, sometimes when people from my friends list sign in to PSN the game will lag for about .300 of a second and it so happened that was the case at the spoon curve.

DigitalRelay, I raced you few times tonight and would like to apologise if I was a little rough tonight, Been a little while since I went online. I raced under hoot420 an was driving my Black EVO X. There was another GTPer with us as well(cant remember his name)and would like to apologise to him aswell if I made any contact with him. Gonna hop back on and see if I cant shake off some more rust..PP600 Suzuka

I was just at Suzuka 750. Drama-kyd and GTP_Redline, I had hoped to have a good race with you two but PS-City ended that idea rather quickly.

Drama-kyd, I was following you close and someones car came to a near complete stop right in front of you. I had no time to get out of the way or stop, I didn't mean to bash you so hard.

Eventually I'll get in on some good GTP races...

Hey DigitalRelay, I had a 1 on 1 battle with you at Suzuka 600pp earlier. I was in a gray BMW M3 under the PSN of darweezee. We had a great battle until you out braked yourself into the kitty litter.

Hey Heli-Eric, good racing!!
You had showed me your turn 1 trick at Suzuka before, this time when I drafted you I went inside so you wouldn't streak by me!!:D

Had a couple of good races with GTP_Redline too!

On a sour note I now consider LOVEISDEAD to be a legitimate target for a pre-emptive strike!!
The guy is a total menace!

What is up with these guys bringing 500pp cars to the 750pp races??
Moving chicanes is all they are!!

Royal didn't know you were a GTP'er,very cool! Was nice to race with ya. Heli no problem bro was a racing deal no harm no foul. GTP_J,Drama,Heli,Moose and 1 or 2 more didn't catch all the tags, great racing with all of you. You are all hella fast and a challenge to keep up with and a pleasure to race. I blew so many leads I lost count lol.Too much pressure I guess:dunce:. I lost it and Moose waited for me to continue in my last race, was a class move and thank you.My wife was next to me and was asking who was in our GTP clan and I point you all out. She says you are all very talented and fast and you all shrink my big head a bit lol. GTP_Jm you we're way faster than me coming into spoon hope I didn't hold you up too much, sorry for that if I did. Wife asked me why that little white car (PS-city) kept running into everyone. She don't race and she noticed it that's pretty bad! Saw Drama his last race drop back at the start so I knew who he was going for lol. Hope you got a good shot on him that guy was a major $%$##$$!! I had a blast out there tonight guys and hope we can do it again soon.(Minus PS-city of course) Sorry for any bumps tried to stay clean out there. Good luck to all and keep on smokin um!!

*edited because LOVEISDEAD is apparently the new GTplanet.net patron saint!*

If you learn how to drive with some form of respect for us and everyone else on the track then you'll face far fewer problems.

Thank you and good day sir.

@Tarmac,

I'm on the verge of going out the door to work so I haven't the time to deal with your post in the correct manner. May I suggest you edit your post before another mod with more time than I views it.

Funny you should mention this because he sent Dbo into the kitty litter TWICE IN ONE RACE tonight.

Don't worry, I binned him after he came after me earlier. I mean the guy told me to "get a Viper if you want to WIN RACES. Fords are gay." last night via a PSN message.

He's officially a cake eater, and I would love the chance to smack either his mother, father, wife, girlfriend (boyfriend?), or his first born!

I let you pass on the front straight twice, I braked in a straight line intentionally to let you pass me. I caught up again coming out of 130R and you put me into the gravel. I'm sorry for getting in contact with you but clearly my viper is faster.

Edit#1: "get a Viper if you want to WIN RACES. Fords are gay." <--- This is Tarmac's interpretation of the comment that I had made. It is NOT a direct quote of my message, again I don't hold any grudge against you. I'd like to work with you guys on this to ease our tension ok? "Don't worry, I binned him after he came after me earlier." Let's not attack eachother on this thread and on On-Line, because I don't want to because it's immature.

Anyways, sorry that I couldn't have made a sour entrance into the GT-Planet forum.

I've been finishing second to PS-CITY tonight a few times, I believe he left around 5:10-am-ish and we both lapped cleanly, my 551hp Viper couldn't hang on the straights with the Ford LMs, I switched to the Ford LM myself but couldn't adjust to its behaviour as I would've liked. If you guys kept a good pace, we wouldn't have came in contact in the first place and what's with talking s&6t about me all of a sudden? you guys were making abrupt movements very close to me so how do you expect someone to avoid that?
I know we'll meet again tonight and I am holding no grudge on you guys but maybe you are and so if that's how it goes, fine. I'm apologizing now and for Tarmac and the rest of you, I want you guys to know that I will try to respect your racing room if you'd do the same for me. Also, I'm open to future suggestions and improvements so all of you are welcome to drop me a line or two. That is all for today, thanks.

LOVEISDEAD

you're fast but you need to clean up your driving and be a little less ambitious.

on another note: Great races Heli, GTP_JMcr, GTP_Redline, GTP_Tarmac, and a couple of other i cant remember, i slugged it out with PS-CITY for a couple of races. He rammed me a couple time but then he sent me a message apologizing. I dont think he's that bad but if you're slower than he he'll get a bit aggressive.

I'm almost done with my Tuned Ford GT (the thing is a beast but i just cant get the corners the way i want them yet) any tips?? i got tired of them leaving my S2K on the straights but i'm only managing to get 2'02'xxx out of the Ford and i get 2'00'5xx with the s2k consistently.

Yeah, that was a good race too. I figured since it was one-on-one I could push it a little harder, but I guess I figured wrong. Good race!

hoot420, apology accepted. Accidents happen, but if you are the cause of the accident, the right thing to do is slow down or pull over and let the driver you messed up take his position back as soon as it is safe to do so, even if that means letting other cars go by.

I expect there to be contact out there, but what bothers me is looking in my rearview mirror going into a turn and seeing someone divebomb to the inside when I know there is no way they can make that pass without sideswiping or punting. Especially in the esses at Suzuka. I just look back there and think "you've got to be kidding me..."

I'd say overall the racing gets a little better every week. And it's cool to see people owning up for their actions on this board. A little more self control on the track and common courtesy after the inevitable bump would be even better.

BTW - I'm far from the fastest or best driver out there. But I do my best to avoid contact with other drivers. When it does happen and it's my fault, I'll be the first guy to pull over. However, if I get punted or sideswiped more than two or three times by someone, I may retaliate. And if things get squirely, any benefit of the doubt I would have had goes right out the window.

I finally jumped back into some 750 races last night and It was good fun. I hope I didn't cause too much trouble trying to keep up. I hung back and did my best to find only the right time to pass. Sad to see people still trying to make passes in the esses.

Sad to see people still trying to make passes in the esses.

I've made many successful passes in the esses with no contact. Mainly on those slow Evo's that people insist on bringing into 750pp races, but still, it is possible to do cleanly if you have some skill. Many people try divebombing in the esses which will obviously result in some puntage.

Absolutely, great racing, and great job against PS_CITY. I agree about close racing with him, vs. holding him up. If I'm holding back myself, looking for an opening and he comes up, he's overly aggressive on his pass.

This may not be the right forum (somebody point me in the right direction if so), but here're my tuned GT settings - HP:492, Weight:990, R3/R3, Aero:20/35, Height:-15,-15, Spring:6/8, Damper:9/9, Toe:+.25/-.25, Camber:2.5/2.0, Bias:6/4, TCS:1, ABS:3, Final:4.500. My best is 2'01'500, so these may not be the greatest. If I'm racing, I have ASM on (hat's off to you slicecom :), but have it off for lapping. After having tried to run with WonderWilley's Suzuka (US) record ghost, and him on the track, I think the settings leave a good deal to be desired though.

Speaking of him, has anyone else noticed? He just seems to show up at Suzuka every once in a while, screams off into the distance, and disappears. There are some truly fast people lurking out there.

PS-City is waaaayyy too wild out there. That elise smokes the corners and he doesn't wait for a safe pass. He just drives through you and there we go off to neverneverland. He is fast for sure just needs to learn the chill skill.:sly:

LOVEISDEAD from what I saw yesterday, you dont know the meaning of the word respect or a gentlemanly race. I saw you punt me and other repeatedly and for no reason.

I race clean all the time, so you cannot say you are retaliating against me. You were punting me every time I was ahead of you and even in a 1 on 1 race. Grow up.

I would love to see their tune. Alot of the top 10 Suzuka time trial ghosts I ran against didn't even show proper racing line in the esses yet they still whipped me in the corners like they had twice the downforce. And down the straights it seems like they have 25+ more horsepower.

The top time for the 750pp Suzuka time trial is a 1'57.2. I watched the replay and the ability of the car was awe inspiring, it was able to stop on a dime and leave 9 cents change without the car getting upset, go through 130R at 143mph, and remain rediculously stable through the degner corners even though he was carrying alot of speed.

My best time at the 750pp Suzuka time trial is a 2'01.153. I messed around with the tune and was able to get .9 faster then the 2'01 through the first split but blew the rest of the lap. Messed around with the settings some more and lost the hypothetical 2'00 tune. My current tune only runs 2'02s, but its very stable and easy to drive so I will keep it.

I'm sure that if any of us could fall upon the perfect tune for our driving style we could decrease our lap times by 2 seconds or more.

I do hope PD introduces same make races with forced identical car setups to equal out the competition. NASCAR 2003 has that option so guys can't go download a super setup online and easily be 1-2 seconds faster then everyone.
