Recently, it seemed as if there were less and less hosts that quit the race. Tonight, though, 4 out of 5 at 750pp suzuka have ended this way. Anybody else have this happen to them, or do I just have bad luck?

I had 4 or 5 quit sessions as well. Suzuka was hideous tonight.

a lot of this is my inexperience, i just started racing suzuka a week ago. im trying to brake down when my opponent does but its hard to time and at the same time i dont wanna lose my momentum. i dont want to piss anyone off, but i guess im just too aggressive. i hate driving in traffic b/c i pay more attention to the drivers than the road so i miss my brake points. thats why i feel i have to zoom past everyone so i can concentrate

OK, here's one problem, if you wait until the guy in front of you brakes then you will hit them every time!
You can't react fast enough to keep from hitting them.

Every car has a different braking point you need to find yours & use them & be ready to adjust them to the car you are following.
Some cars are heavier than yours & need a longer braking area, you need to be aware of this & make adjustments.

Remember, "Power is nothing without control"!

thats why i feel i have to zoom past everyone so i can concentrate

A problem is that you assume you can zoom past people in corners such as the Esses at Suzuka. It's just too tight for it to work there. The guy in front may open the door by sliding a bit wide through a turn and you could try to go to the inside, but by the next turn you still wont be in front of him, and you're just going to collide.

i dont intentionally plow through anyone, at the start of the race it seems everyone goes so slow through that first turn and sometimes i dont hit the brakes hard enough. trust me i get banged around a lot too, its frustrating. i can handle my car just fine, thats why most of the time you see me near the top. Most of the time im usually faster through those s-bends and its hard for me to let off the gas knowing im faster than the guy in front of me, but ill try to tone it down a bit. sorry if i pitted anyone on here all i can say is its not intentional

One of your problems is that you try to overtake in the worst possible places. I specifically remember one race where I was already starting my turn-in and you cut in front of me at the last possible moment and then slammed on the brakes to make your turn in. Its called "barge passing." By the definition of Corner Rights in any racing sim, I would have "owned" that corner. I had nowhere to go and ended up going right through your ghost and into the litter trying to avoid a collision. If you have a chance to overtake me, great..by all means, do it...but do it safely.

In every single race I was in with you and Take1taka I noticed that you guys displayed the "pass at all costs" attitude. If you were in a PC tournament race, you would have been DQ'd and punted by the race moderator/administrator. You two bumped and nudged your way through with complete disregard for everyone else. Who cares if you can take the S-curves faster if you can't do it clean? Everyone can take every corner faster. Not everyone is going to sacrifice other peoples races to achieve it.

I usually blow stuff like that off but after seeing cars ahead of me getting knocked around race after race and then having it happen to me really ticked me off. Is life gonna end if you don't get a podium finish?

I've raced against some of you with the GTP_ prefix in your alias. Some of you punt as well.

I've never been in a race where I saw anyone with a GTP_ prefix intentional punting unless it was previously provoked. I think most of us do get angry occasionally and decide "the hell with it" and punt back, so you might have seen some of that and not realized it was payback time :-) As for myself, it is very, very rare that I'll try to punt back. But there have been a couple of times where a driver was such a complete jerk that it is really the only way to vent your frustration. (The ones that really tick me off are the drivers that slam back-and-forth against the side of your car down the straights...)

I've certainly had my share of collisions with other GTP members, but so far is has always been obvious that it was accidental.

Bad day, yesterday. Had a few good races, but few and far between. I must apologize to SRT-4_mexico. Bumped him enough to send him off turning onto 130R. Also bumped an Elise driver, preperation or something, racing Div. Sorry to him as well.

Moose, hope that pass was clean on Caiso. Wanted to be aggresive, but hope I didn't bump you at all. The reason I stopped at the finish was for SRT-4_mexico. But he never came around. :guilty:

Div, looking good out there! Definitly faster then I remember. Nice job!

Kevin01SH, do you drive a yellow Z06? You seemed to have cleaned up a bit by the time I was racing you. A little bumping is going to happen. But nothing looked intentional.

Chewwy (black S2K), Coachcabbage (Blue Evo X).... 🤬🤬 I ended up punting Chewwy. He had sent me off, or attempted to send me off almost every race I had with him. One move he used was riding the right side of the track on the front straight at Suzuka, waiting for me to turn into turn one, then bumping me there. I saw him set it up again. He and I, neck and neck, him riding the right side. I said 🤬 it, moved hard, yet smooth to the right. I think I actually laughed a bit, watching him slide backwards across the front straight behind me.

Chewwy, Coachcabbage.... 🤬🤬

It's honestly become part of my routine to punt Coachcabbage off as I pass him. It may sound harsh, but he WILL take you out in the next turn, EVERY time if you don't. Also, don't try to pass him on a straight because he will swerve into you taking you out. He's the worst (best?) punter I've ever encountered, and I've done hundreds of online races. He has become VERY skilled in the "art" of taking you out while ensuring he can carry on unobstructed.

Yeah, and that is where I am headed too. And that is a problem for me. I think it is time for me to cool the engines a bit. Going to take some time off. Need to get the motor and suspension done on the real car anyway. I sent out a mass buddy invite, in hopes that we will eventually get private rooms. I am not saying I am not going to play anymore. Just won't be on as much. For a little while.

PreparationH, the Elise, was also an ass. Well to me he as, swerving left and right, hitting me twice while braking.

Seriously, Elise driver think their track is their own, it pisses me off. They never adjust their braking points, go late, hit you, ciao bye, race done.

yeah that was me, i really made an effort not to plow anyone last night. i had a lot of fun until coachcabbage kept swiping me as i tried to get around his slow ass evo.

i used to get all worked up over punters, and will occationlly retaliate if i think it was a rediculouse move to hit me, but i find the best revenge is to stay cool, run fast and make a pass on them. its very rare that i cant catch a punter and in those few instances, there will be another race and another opritunity in 3 mins antway.

Yea you got me clean, thats why I was surprised you stopped at the finish line but I understand now!

You were much better to race with last night.
I think you learned it's not so easy to be up front when you try to drive clean but several guys are just punting everyone!
However IMO a clean 4th is much more satisfying than a punting 1st!

I put a sweet move on coachcabbage!
He had sideswiped me on the straight when I went to pass so I set him up in 200R.
Now 200R isn't a normal passing spot unless you completely trust the guy your passing but I drafted up behind him & faked to the outside & when he went to block me I swooped inside, he turned back right to hit me & lost control, it was sweet to see him spin off the track & I never laid a bumper on him!!:D

I used the same move on moran-auto & PS city with the same results!

I thought heli-eric was normally clean, but last night he punted me every chance he got.

maybe he has something for putty, maybe i punted him in the past by accident.

there were a few guys last night begging for a nugde through the flowerbeds.

Heli Eric doesn't like to lose,he can be clean when he wants to be. If you notice he has PP set low enough to always start first most of the time. I beat him a couple times and he started blocking and banging. If he knows you can beat him or are a threat to him he will take you out. I have seen him do this to a few people besides myself so it's not just you Putty. He is very skilled but doesn't like to lose. Too bad I was going to PM him with an invite to GTP until his true colors were revealed. Some just want to win that bad i guess.

I don't believe any of this. AT least 5 races in a row on friday you hit my quarter panel and spin me out. I catch back up and pass you cleanly and then you do it again. Rubbish racing I'm ashamed that you're in Atlanta because I'm in a suburb of Atlanta.

I just had a few clean races with heli-eric, but on the last one, i was making a pass going into the chicane at Suz, when he tryed to come down and block me. A fair move but i was already next to him on his inside and he went off. the next lap as i was just crusing to the finish after getting a shortcut penaty at the chicane, he come flying up and smashes me. Whata baby

ok this seems in line with what i saw.

he paid no attention to me for some time and then i either won or was giving him a run for his money cause now every chance he gets i am in the kitty litter.

he may get some love back soon. i have been staying clean even to the punters but this may change soon.

Yeah it's really hard not to punt when you know the guy in front of you would do it to you in heartbeat, really test your selfcontrol. But hey like the saying goes "Two wrongs don't make a right" (but sure would feel damn good!)

Pretty much how I saw it, he would switch from good to bad from race to race.

Yo Tarmac I'm not quite sure what happened there at 130r. I tried to stay wide so that we could go two wide through there.

Heli-Eric didn't bother me, we did a 1 on 1, last lap I decided to pass and put 3 seconds on him in that lap. He won't bother you if you're quicker than he is.

well, if he cant catch you he cant bother you.

i run a 738pp car on the 750pp races, so i am always in the lead of the pack, and he tries to punt me every time if he can.

Also, there as another guy in a tuned Z06... mk70 or lmk70, or something. He was a great racer, too. Very quick. Had some good battles with him as well. Wish I could remember the name. Did a mass buddy invite this morning. Wanted him on it. Oh well.

I'm guessing that was me.. That was a blast racing with you and slicecom.

Something is wrong with my router and have'nt been online racing since then.:indiff:

Hi all,

Looks like I'm today's whipping boy. :(

Let me start by apologizing to everyone. I don't punt intentionally!!!! If I think I'm even related to someone going off, who for instance, may have been along side in a turn, I stop and let them by. And, no, I don't like being beaten, but I don't slam *anyone* just because I do lose (often). I think the issue with putty is that I happened to grid behind him in every race, he's slower than most of the field behind, so I wound up close on him, every race, biding my time for an opening, and in the mean time the field ran up on me, slammed me, and sent me into putty. Let me make it clear, if I (unintentionally) punt someone, I stop. It's that simple. It also shows what's bad about a reverse grid. I have a lot of respect for putty's driving, so, *sorry*, man.

As to cudadude, I feared he'd take my ramming him as an assault, but it wasn't. The previous lap it felt like I was hit from behind as I turned into the Casio triangle, not hard, but it appeared that cudadude had left his braking a little too late. I understand, it happens. It didn't seem to me that he was inside, and that the hit was from there. But, that's beside the point. I know he races clean, so getting banged around now and again is fine. On the next (last) lap, I saw him take a penalty ahead at the exit of the triangle, but it also appeared that he backed off after the penalty. I thought perhaps he was making a late acknowledgement of sending me off the previous lap, which I didn't think he needed to do, so I lined up behind him, to finish after him, but he'd slowed a bunch, so it was a hard hit. The end result was as I'd wanted, he finished ahead of me. Seriously. I wanted to PS message you to that effect, but you left the circuit and I didn't have the exact spelling of your ID.

As to redline's complaint, I can't really say I remember any incidents, but when I'm driving a low powered car, like the Mitsus, and the only advantage they have is getting off a corner fast, I change to a *defensive* driving line. That doesn't mean banging, weaving and bumping. It means protecting the inside line and closing the door (not slamming it). All I can think is that change in driving style is a little of a surprise to those who *know* I leave room in a corner if I think someone is attempting anything close to a legitimate, workable, possible, non-bansai pass. So, I'll take special care in the future. Sorry.

Anyway, I'll back off a bunch. I'm not playing to make enemies, and I believe stongly in fair racing. I can't wait for car damage to be implemented.

Had some good racing with GTP L Hamilton and GTP Tarmac. I accidentally gave L Hamilton a tap going into 130R, I probably shouldn't have tried that pass, but the tap was mostly because I wasn't over as far as I thought I should be.

The second race was pretty chaotic amongst the three of us, I was suffering from a lot of snapping loose and kept hitting you two.

I see Heli-Eric is now a member here, welcome, from my experience racing with him all his contact is incidental. Good fast fair racer

Yeah awesome racing! I wrote down your name on my "add to friends list" post-it note last night, just haven't got around to adding you yet. 👍

LoL... i went too deep bud, sorry. Carried a bit too much speed and ended up in your door, even with your wide berth!! :dunce:

No harm no foul right?? 👍

Was a pleasure racing with you...

To be quite honest with you, I had an awful hard time keeping track of who was bumping me and who wasn't. LoL Hell, seemed everyone was having a go at me at one point or another!! Hahaha. So definitely no worries there mate.

It's very VERY tough to try and keep it clean when you've got Coachcabbage running rampant on the course. I think I was telling L_Hamilton just how frustrated I was getting with him. Regardless, it was great fun today and one of my first "official" outings with a gaggle of GTP_ers.

PS- Both Heli Eric and Kevin01SH were very clean in all races I witnessed today. I'd like to add they were fairly fast as well! :)
