So is anyone racing? I'll try for the xx:40 race if anyone wants to join.:)

Edit: Aint nothing but dimwits out there right now, and that means I get my arse kicked into walls, pushed wide, etc etc. I sent one of them a "friendly" message. Plain and simple, titled: Learn to drive; read: Dimwit. Alternatively I got the RBE effect cranking and set a 1'12.5 lap time...........there is a RBE isn't there? Maybe that's why I'm faster through the splits, I need a steering wheel to be faster.

so how is the racing online now, not sure i´m fast enough on HSR or Fuiji to even bother getting in yet might just do freeruns today heh

Dont worry. As long as your clean its all good there are some very slow racers on HSR. Give it a shot. Im racing on the xx:x0's so come join me if you want.

Well tell me your times brother, they can't be worse than the idiots I've been putting up with.:)

Edit: +1 to what Jack said too.:)

I have never seen you race but I still know you are fast enough.

You're just not driving it right.:P At first drive, all the cars run the same lap times, so it's more or less down to the drivers which is faster.:)

Each has its' advantages though, the GTR has cornering advantage, the Z06 a straight line advantage, and the F430 a balance of the 2.:)

Never seen a corvette win yet? If i do a good race can get to 5th +/- (on full grid with other GTPers in a Ferrari/Nissan) But the corvette is just so tricky in the corners stepping out 👍 Corvette is as fast a Ferrari/Nissan but has higher messingup risk and it always starts at the back, so no way i can win in a corvette when other just as talented or more talented drivers are around. Only possible with a grid of .... but its not fast enough to make up the ground under normal circuimstances

Well that's your opinion, I've been driving the Vette so long now I'm used to a tricky car, and I know this one's habbits pretty well. On that note, I find it easier to drive the Corvette, because the rear steps out too easily under brakes in the GTR, and there's a fair bit of lift oversteer in the F430, none of which you get with the Corvette. If you're stepping the tail out you're giving it too much throttle, end of, hardly the car's fault.:P

PS- Any 3 of them are too slow to catch 1st place from last, they're very evenlt matched. I'd rather drive something I like though, rather than something that can win easier like everyone else.

1:12-1:18s atm in the f430! heh

i tend to float out into the barrier in some corners really need to get that speed right!

1'12s are astronomically quick, I've only done one once and I think the online boost was helping me along (if not slipstreaming), otherwise my fastest free run time is a 1'13.281.

nd 4 holden spd: aha i wasnt brake checking you. Thought id give you my place.

I figured, :sly:, I got sideways over the line in V8 fashion for that. Thanks for waiting by the way, damn punters. I'm done for tonight, see you all tomorrow.

I also love the corvette, that edge makes it more fun then the f430...

Only the start grid for the event is 'wrong' .

Corvette for the win at HSR, you have the best straight line speed and that excellent engine tone to boot!
Plus, the GT-R is outclassed now and everyone uses the F430, so its a bit dull in my opinion.

More challenging to start from the back as well.

Your Friend Chad will be at HSR in 10 mins :20 and tens after that..

POST RACES:

Good stuff guys, that was some great racing tonight. I must say, the competition level is a lot higher in PAL HSR.

Thanks to all I raced and may good fortune come on all of you.

Great racing, I'm still a bit off the F430's pace, but when I don't do anyhing stupid, I just won't leave their tail :sly:

Thank you very much guys, (geez, slicecom, burnout, southslider, sausages and many others) it's a pleasure to meet you on track! :)

It's that time of night, do I race the HSR, or continue work in The Lion's Den? Bah, I need weekend time to do TLD work like that, HSR!!! (Just gimme a few, I'll be there soon.)

Im at Fuji atm, every 10 minutes. 👍

I keep my distance from Fuji for 3 reasons:
1. I hate the track, rather lame track IMO.
2. It's punter heaven with the need to take wide entry into corners.
3. The cars are less dun to drive than the stock Corvette on S3 tyres.

Is that so? Well, Ive had a whale of a time racing a Viper GTS and getting a podium each time, regardless of punters.
Fuji might be a nightmare for bad driving, but its still a good track and I still procure some enjoyment out of it.

Anyway, Ive just jumped to Daytona in my Jag again....:):):) winning again. :sly:

I turned the PS3 off (was getting a bad NAT), but if you can stay there, I'll bring my Mustang, and we'll do 10min intervals? No tyre mismatching, that's for cheaters.:P I'll be there in a couple of mins.

Edit: OK, might have to tyre stagger, got my butt kicked.

Hey good to see you at the oval Holden. 👍 That tyre stagger must have worked for you because there were a couple of races there that Mustang wasn't doing too badly.

Had a few good races at the HSR with GTP_Racer_LP too.(mostly following him). You guys are right, that event is not bad with the barrier penalties now. Look for me in the red GTR there.

The Mustang was hardly fast enough to do well, I managed 2nd that time because I kept slipstreaming and playing tactics and I started 3rd.:sly:

GTP_Racer_LP, you seem very fast, although it was hard to tell when I was being punted and blocked by n00bs. Had some good races with osg though. Then I decided to answer the question, between the F430 and Z06 which is fastest? The answer is neither.:P Given a properly driven, little to no mistakes, lap they run virtually indentical times, within a tenth of each other. The F430 is very boring to drive though, and the biggest difference is turn 1, the Z06 powers down the straight to open a slight lead, but needs to brake and then be careful around turn 1, the F430 only needs a slight lift off the throttle. I will admit though, in race circumstances the F430 is probably faster. Where the Z06 migh differ by about 0.5sec/lap, the F430 runs nearly indentical laps each time, making it more consistent and in that sense faster, but all in all it's nearly purely the driver. I've had the best battles with F430s, nothing makes me more excited than having a battle where the 2 cars have different strengths and weaknesses, the battles get far more intriguing.

The GTR changed to the best since the last upgrade, and it's much "easier" now. But still, can't leave the braking for to late and turn in braking or it's rear takes off (without a wheel at least). It's loads of fun, but not very effective when you're on the limit, under the slipstream of a 430 using a DS2, so I'll stick to the 430

That said, thank you. Great stuff with that GTR! 👍

Also like to thank all other, I remember mr_geez, southslider and slicecom (sorry for one bump after T1, I tried to steer clear from you sliding, but...).

Yesterday I rediscovered of the fun of online racing with this HSR event, now that the punters gave up on it. Most of them at least... looking forward for tonight.

BTW, anyone know how can I NOT start last or penultimate every single race?

indeed 👍

Great night of racing - stayed up long past my bedtime too :sly:
Thanks to everyone, had some particularly excellent battles with mr_geez, Hun200kmh, slicecom, CWR, angerdx, southslider amo... Have to admit I was pleasantly surprised as up to now, I've found the event quite boring.
I also love being able to drive the F430 now (with the sixaxis) without the constant fear of it snapping away too much in 3rd 👍

Oh, and having 6 races an hour is an added bonus too, but I've had far more host connection errors in the matching process than before the update - about 5 or 6 last night. Anyone else found this to be the case?
