Some fantastic races earlier on with a driver named gixxer7, a Dutch driver in the F430/GTR/Z06 race. We must have had about 6 one-twos, usually him winning! But he was a brilliantly clean racer, we had contact a little the first time we raced through a misunderstanding, but otherwise no contact at all.

Was a little apprehensive about racing online after this update seeing as so many people seemed to think it was a punt-fest, but I only got hit a couple of times and I'm sure that was accidental.

Now all I need to do is find some more GTP drivers online... had a few GTRP and GT5net ones tonight but didn't come up against any GTP.

HSR @ xx:10, 20, 30, 40, 50

@Hun200kmh
You must be bored of winning by now? :sly: Great work 👍

This night I was lucky many times, that's all :)

Well, now I'm off, after one more night of some excellent racing with fellow GTPers. To all I met, thank you! 👍

I've had the occasional dabble on HSR, but I keep giving up because I don't enjoy it. Here's why;
I like to drive the Z06, just because I prefer it over the F430 &GTR.
In the races I've joined there are almost no other Corvettes, everyone seems to choose the others, maybe because they're faster.
So I usually start 11th or 12th. Race starts and I'm usually still 11th or 12th into turn 1. All the good (clean) drivers are making progress through the field. then I start catching up the not-so-proficient drivers, usually in F430's. Unfortunately the majority of these are also punters, so I end up in the Armco, facing the wrong way, 20 or 25sec from where I want to be.
I know you're gonna tell me to ditch the 'vette and drive something else, but I've got the hump now. :grumpy:

It's true that the Z06 often starts low down the field, but it's not like there's a set starting order. All my races last night were 12 or 13 car grids and every single time I started 10th or 11th in my F430 and worked my way up to first or second. The first lap would be spent avoiding the people who couldn't keep it in a straight line, and the other four laps would be spent clawing my way up.

I guess the punting depends who you're racing with. I didn't have a problem with it at all last night, a few people had a go but they usually sailed straight through me as their car ghosted :D

Also, it's brilliant not having everyone disconnect! Means there's more racing throughout the field.

I fully undertsand you, and I wouldn't suggest you to change the car you like. Plus you have my respect, I think that if I drove the Vette I would be facing the wrong way many times without any help from the punters.

The "problem" is that GTPers are now scattered, I have friends driving all three PRO events, so it's close to impossible to have grids filled (almost exclusively) with GTPers, like it happened often in Suzuka 600 or Suzuka F430 vs GTR.

We really need private rooms.

@homeforsummer
What schedule (if any) are you following? I played several hours last night (every 10 mins) and I don't think we ever met.

i don't agree with you n4dholden, the f430 has a huge advantage over the zo6! the zo6 is my weapon of choice though, it very rewarding when you finish pole after that long fight. the f430 can lap 1 second faster then the zo6's, not only that but they start around 5-10seconds in front at the beginning anyway. a good driver in a zo6 can take on a average f430 driver but a good driver in a z06 vs a equal levelled driver in a f430, i'm sorry but the f430 will just leave it for dust.

i see it as a GTR and F430 have an equal advantage (well maybe a slight advantage to the f430)and the ZO6 is the one with the least advantage, i don't see why PD have put them at the back.

nice drift session Im_gonna_drift yesterday..shame you can't match up again.

nice racing Sjaak..quite a few punters out today, i couldn't get past that dirty white f430.

I'd like to know your times in both cars in free run please, it's possible you're not maximising the potential of the Corvette, as it's far easier to do so in the F430.

Wasn't really racing a "schedule" as such. I started at about 8pm GMT and finished around 9:20, but very unlikely on each of the ten minute times. I just kept joining the race straight away at the end of each one I did because I was having some great battles with a particular driver.

check the time trials, i have about 2-3 tenths to come off the zo6 i can't remember the exact time off my head, i've only done about 2-3 laps in the f430, but i don't race that anyway ...yet i'm still considerably quicker.

I need a steering wheel, good news is I'm probably getting one very soon.:) Then I'll start getting faster.

haha, i have a steering wheel but i never use it, i really need to start. i thought the same...i'd be faster with my DFP but it wasn't the case.

i will definately start trying with the DFP soon though

I used the pad for a long time, until I finally decided to clean the dust off my wheel. The big difference is not so much about best lap times, it's more about consistency and the ability to "adapt" to race conditions. With the pad I had often "over correcting" problems, and it wasn't easy to follow a line that wasn't the perfect one (and you often have to do it, either to give space to an overtaking car, or when you are the one overtaking other).

In short, with the wheel you have greater control over the car and that comes handy in difficult situations

They say to give it a couple of weeks. I don't suppose you can just tell me your times? I've already switched the ol' PS3 off.:)

i can remember the exact, i think it was 1.13.9 or 1.14.1 Ranked 11th last time i checked. f430 was something like 1.13.5 after 2 laps. corvette is after around 10laps. got about 2-3 tents to come off the zo6 time. might have another bash today.

Last night had some connection issues (local, 3G...), a few punters and some tiresome to deal with, but still a good night of racing it was!

@mr_geez, I loved that bump-draft overtake. It was either that or 3 430 side by side on T1. :scared:
Which by the way happened later between the 2 of us and Slicecom with no problems :sly:
Very nice 👍

If I get the time, I'll do some time trial laps to fine tune it and see if i can keep up with you guys a bit longer. I'm getting the corners almost right now, but there are still some wall impacts (acceleration point wrong) and one braking point to improve on.

Like turn in braking in the GTR that you handle so well :-) You and slicecom braking for the S in HSR leave me miles behind... I may get a wheel in September, a G25... until then, the DS2 is doing very well thank you.

And that's in the S2 tyred time trials? I'd expect the F430 to be faster there as it can cope easier with the lower grip levels compared to S3 tyres in the HSR event. My times are 1'13.2 on S3 tyres, and 1'13.8 on S2 tyres (time trial). The time in the F430 was 1'13.3 on S3 tyres, but there's more to come off that, slightly more.

:lol: I can't believe we pulled that one off! 3 wide in turn 1 on HSR with no contact and all 3 making it through. Highlight of my night for sure! 👍

I went three wide into the first proper corner, not the second apex of the first corner.

Two F430's were side by side with a GT-R sized gap between them so I put mine in that gap and passed them both without a single touch anywhere.

Made me wish for online replays

This happened on the evening of the 5th of August.

yeh thats my time with S2 Tyres.

yup..bump draft overtaking & 3 cars in T1..that was awesome,I had to look left&right all the time going through at 250 km/h :-D and my battles with Hun ( +0.019 sec , damn it ! ;-) and the one with like 12 clean overtaking manouvers throughout the race? that was epic racing..

I've just realised, you're the one in the red Ferrari that nearly caught me aren't you? I had 2 seconds plus going onto the last lap and you got too close for comfort.
