(...)I've had far more host connection errors in the matching process than before the update - about 5 or 6 last night. Anyone else found this to be the case?

I always did and still do...

And it seems it's always when I'm really looking forward for the next race, expecting a grid loaded of GTPer's that it fails... Thus ruining the moment by forcing me to wait 10mins :( Darn gremlins :boggled:

Epic racing last night,Thanks to all involved. It was the most fun i have ever had online. What a difference driving with so many GTP_ers.👍
Sorry for the bump drafting, just wanted to see us GTP_ers at the top of the grid.:scared:
Thanks again to all, looking forward to the next races.👍

[JOKING]
Oh no, why did you have to pick THAT race to photograph the results. The shame ... the horror ...
[/JOKING] :dopey:

Indeed, a great night of racing 👍

lol I was about to say the same thing! That was the race I started second from last and had JUST caught the lead pack by the time it was over. :( :P

Great racing all around last night! :)

I don't like that picture at all :ouch: :dopey:

great night of racing (maybe that is why I look like zombie today?) , hope to see you all later tonight 👍

i like racing the corvette most, but you always get that group in the middle that don't let you past at all. you do have to have the right group to get a p1 in the ZO6. F430 is by far the easiest car to get a P1 with.

Wow HSR disapoints me with the quality of drivers...
Some (non-GTP) racers are very dirty using dirty ways to pass and block its staggering. (Im at the back with my drifting vette) Ive already met 3 punters who have ruined my races one called CHR1SSYB punted me and other people as I watch some Spanish person using me as brakes...

Well I find that HSR is great for stock, fast drifting but bad for dirty drivers..

Fuji is given a bad reputation for the first corner I haven tmet any punters there. its only the first corner or sneaky drivers who take advantage of times...

I am sooooo pissed with the people who use you as a brake/wall pad.

END of my rant... 👍
Good racing GTPers

Yes, many punters tonight, and few GTPers. CWR was in my first race (he won, of course) but left soon after. However, did a few hours of awesome racing against mr geez, so I can't complain. To all guys I met tonight (ENErGiYA just showed up, but it's too late for me), thanks, hope to meet you again 👍

I was there for 5 races or so..

Good fight

The HSR racing was great. First time I've raced with more than a couple of GTPer's at once. Same again tomorrow night.

Also, to mr_geez, I believe you join one of my crappy host races. I thought you had quit, that's why I pulled over on the first curve :P

Maybe what happened to me (fell asleep on the couch) happened to other. Maybe it was for the best, my driving would have been poor, I was really tired. :)

I'll try again tonight!

Then I decided to answer the question, between the F430 and Z06 which is fastest? The answer is neither.:P Given a properly driven, little to no mistakes, lap they run virtually indentical times, within a tenth of each other. The F430 is very boring to drive though, and the biggest difference is turn 1, the Z06 powers down the straight to open a slight lead, but needs to brake and then be careful around turn 1, the F430 only needs a slight lift off the throttle. I will admit though, in race circumstances the F430 is probably faster. Where the Z06 migh differ by about 0.5sec/lap, the F430 runs nearly indentical laps each time, making it more consistent and in that sense faster, but all in all it's nearly purely the driver. I've had the best battles with F430s, nothing makes me more excited than having a battle where the 2 cars have different strengths and weaknesses, the battles get far more intriguing.

No one cared about my little study/comparo.:(

I did... Yep the Z06 is fast but it needs to catch up so much.
I prefere the Z06 for how fun it drives (DORIFTO!!!)

I'd say dirty techniques could get anyone up at the podiums easy...
E.g use others as a collision pad... :indiff:

@ holden:
I did, but since I'm a GTR driver all I want to know now is if I can overtake a GTP_driven F430 and keep him behind me.

The first night I drove this event I really thought that I needed to switch to the Ferrari (I was clearly outpaced). Then I realized that I couldn't keep them behind me, but could keep in their tail and within reach.

Last night, I improved just a litle bit more and started to be able to overtake the "chased Ferrari" at the end of the straight, but kept losing the position in the short straight between turns 1 and 2 (I'm talking about awesome but always clean battles I had last night against mr geez, some of them it's a pity weren't filmed).

Now, I have to learn how to brake late for turn 2. It's very delicate with the GTR, because late-braking with it usually leads to losing the back end (and I'm no drifter  )

@ Fujiwara:

I did, and agreed with your rant

I read your rant, and while I have been getting punters, they normally do their business through blocking and slight nudges making me slower rather than full on ramming (not that I don't get them as well). They're certainly not as bad as at Fuji, where I get punted at every damn corner. At least at HSR I can easily enough put distance between me and them and leave them for good.
As for the GT-R, I'll test that for you tomorrow night, I didn't want to because of how boring the car is :P, but I will just for you.:)

Yay you read 👍

Yep I should start playing with other cars. HSR is packed with F430's its crazy :scared:

Drifting around HSR can just about keep up with racers unless you get nudged or make a mistake and then your screwed.

Wow The F430 is easy to get a pole... well it does lose against GTRs...

Factors on winning would be skill, starting position and car.
Car isnt the most important as they are pretty equal.

My Z06 beats more pople when drifting feel wick :D

a 1'14:345 best lap online not free mode while drifting beat that :P

it's ok,I read somewhere on GTP that when you are the host, problems may occur,it is not your fault so no biggie. :)

EDIT nr 1: @Hun & Holden
great racing Hun,fastest GT-R I've met on HSR (where are online replays PD?!). Biggest advantage in driving Nissan is its starting position,in hands of such skilled driver you really have to push to the limit after taking care of "punters, rammers&co." just to catch up and main place to do this is Turn 1 & 2 where I can go slightly faster due to better ballance of MR F430,in other places our split times were almost the same (maybe GT-R has small advantage in the S-turns before the tunnel due to better cornering of 4WD but I'm not sure)

EDIT nr 2: I didn't test vette because I don't really like US cars but one thing is for sure ,the sound of this car is GREAT!! and HUD is nice gimmick for a cockpit driver like me ;-)

I can't remember who it was but it was a GTP'er but it was a yellow 'vet.

That would be "Im_gonna-DRIFT", don't you think, Fujiwara-kun :sly:

mr_geez, thank you for your kind words, however the fact remains. If you can get rid of punters&rammers, going up the field until you catch me up front, that can only mean one thing* ... I have to try harder to really be at the F430 level, at least when you're driving it :)

* [SW nerd] "... "Invasion!" [/SW nerd] :D

I drive a yellow one too. I dont know if it was me...

I dunno, could it be :embarrassed:

Also came 4th out of 11. Mr geez won that and 7 other people lost to my drift skillz :P

One GTP racer knows where they came that time :P j/k
Im happy witha early 1'14 while drifting at HSR

i don't agree with you n4dholden, the f430 has a huge advantage over the zo6! the zo6 is my weapon of choice though, it very rewarding when you finish pole after that long fight. the f430 can lap 1 second faster then the zo6's, not only that but they start around 5-10seconds in front at the beginning anyway. a good driver in a zo6 can take on a average f430 driver but a good driver in a z06 vs a equal levelled driver in a f430, i'm sorry but the f430 will just leave it for dust.

i see it as a GTR and F430 have an equal advantage (well maybe a slight advantage to the f430)and the ZO6 is the one with the least advantage, i don't see why PD have put them at the back.

nice drift session Im_gonna_drift yesterday..shame you can't match up again.

nice racing Sjaak..quite a few punters out today, i couldn't get past that dirty white f430.
