Online Racing -> Apologies Here!

I showed up in a all M3 GTP race last night after just logging on (i was in a R8), I tried to stay out of the fray but end up taking first any how...sorry guys! I pulled over and stopped before the finish line but got knocked over the line by an out of control car.

Sorry to anyone I've bumped in the past and in the future: never intentional. Just race'n too hard.

Sorry, GTP_Vanos. I think i may have forced you in the dirt on suzuka. We didn't touch, but if i wasn't there, i think you would have made the turn. Good racing though. Angel was fast! I almost caught him! lol

Sorry GTRP-Monza for the one stupid move I made very long ago!! ..It was the one when I tried to come in between you and some other driver on the first bend of suz600. I send you off to the kitty litter.. just crossed my mind again and it still bugs my mind, so my greatest apologies.. !

-Timo

My apologies to Madforce...my driving was really poor during our races, sorry about that 👍

My apologies to you MisterWeary and anyone else who was unfortunate to have me 'host' their races for a brief period tonight. I have just found out that my connection speeds have been curbed back to dial-up hehe, so it looks like there's no more Gran Turismo 5 racing for me for at least another two weeks.

:(

And also my apologies to Zabeu who was witness to me driving a Z06 Corvette with no ABS and 600% more rear brake bais than was sensible. Not one lap under 3 minutes around Suzuka and you were patient enough to coddle me around to the finish, you are a gentleman to put up with that rubbish I served you for a whole 9 minutes.

I now owe you a solid race (or twenty) and I hope you forgive me.

You're a good man AERO with no need to apologise, hardly your fault if your connection speed has been shaped 👍

My apologies to all who encountered the 'wall of smoke' on the back straight at suzuka 600pp last night:crazy:

Some spanish dude in a white Evo X decided it would be a good idea to let me slipstream him, move over to the left and then whack me as I passed him:ouch::mad:🤬

I noticed I'd reduced a few drivers to a crawl by the time i'd stopped spinning:nervous: Sorry dudes

My racing was really poor tonight, I stuffed races up for many many folk...don't know if I'm tired, impatient or what but that last race I was in I tried the dumbest move ever to get around some slow dude and ended up throwing myself so far into the kitty litter I think I woke up on another track?!?

I'll get some sleep and hopefully bring a better game next time 👍

Yeah Weary I noticed you were off on the kitty litter like a pregnant cat, hehe! Not your usual standard, but everyone has their off days. I sorta figured that when I could keep ahead of you in the Corvette you didn't have your race face on.

Looks like your namesake is catching up with you!

;)

Vanos....sorry about pushing you around through corner 1 in our various (short lived) games last night (deadwing1 kept quitting when he felt he was losing or "wronged"). One time I was punted into you and you went flying off. You had the NSx drifting nicely at some points through the esses!

Just had some races with Weary and Sarlach!

I CAN DIE A HAPPY MAAAAAAAN!

Nice to see a Corvette out there 👍

I'm also sorry to a few people who I knocked a few times, GTP and non-GTP, I thumbled my gear changes a couple of times.

GTP_alritemate - Sorry for that crap braking for the chicane last night; my car was slipstreaming, and although I braked slightly earlier than usual because of that, it was like braking power had been reduced by 1/2 (waaaaay over the top, they really should change this), very frustrating. Fortunately my car ghosted and I didn't hit you.

Also, sorry if I scared you just before that on the same spot: I was following Timppaq slightly from his right, and on the braking he swerved to the right to overtake or just not to hit the guy in front, and I had to do the same to avoid collision, all of this in the exact moment you were also coming from the right. Weird moment there. 👍

My apologies to Hamerturtle (NL) sorry guy for this little touch in Suzuka...:guilty: It was my first race of the evening and not yet settled.
Also when you overtake sip streaming on the straight before 130R... never take back the line and brake that much.... it's not easy in that case not to punt your back ;)

Sorry again mate 👍

I've noticed that and hate it too... I usually try to leave the slipstream at the very last moment, but then you are braking on the inside (not the best place) and may start to brake with the car unbalanced...

I never have a problem with this. Simple physics dictate a faster car needs to brake much earlier than a slower one, if you've got a slight slipstream on the car infront of you and you don't pull out, you gotta hit the brakes early, simply because you're going quicker than they are, and it takes you a lot longer to pull up.

It's not exaggerated, I don't think they should fix it at all. Plain and simple, you have to adjust your braking points when you're behind another driver. "Slightly earlier" apparently isn't early enough. I'm on the brakes at least a second before my usual points when I'm behind another guy and whilst that doesn't feel very good, come the apex of the corner, I'm generally riding his bumper. Occaisionally I misjudge and tap the driver in front, but hey you can't be perfect. Half the fun is seeing how close you can get to the other driver without touching them.

;)

yeh i love that game  i also agree that nothing is wrong with the physics when braking under slimstream...don't forget that the air is hitting the car infront not you, the air hitting you at 140mph will slow you down quite quickly this makes your car (the slipstreamer) look like it has no brakes

Seems quite ok in the F1, but not with other cars. In those I feel the whole slipstream is a bit exaggerated, not just during the braking. Considering we are driving saloons and other non heavily "winged" cars.

Still, I don't see a huge problem... just the need for a little fine tuning.

It's hard for me to say if the "slipstream" effect is or isn't well recreated, since I don't use it to overtake in real life :dopey:

However, it's true that I feel it a lot more than in other games. Anyway, when I'm closely following a car in Suzuka, I generally am very cautious and start braking a lot earlier.

OT - burnout, I just noticed your avatar is a bike, does your username mean that you own/ride a Hornet? Mine is a blue XJR, as you can see in my own avatar.

my apologies to GTExdPivot and GTP_AlrightMate...very sorry for getting in your way at the Esses!!! i was trying to give pivots place back but i managed to get in the way of everyone...sorry about that. i'm not normally like this.

sorry to GTC_Wanye i think it is.. badly mistimed the braking into turn 1 at suzuka.. :guilty:

No prob Mate 👍 That was too bad because we both lost 1st & 2nd but no big deal, this happens to all and you respectly wait for me thanks.
Which was not the case at 130r with this HasanB !!!

appologies to angelx, hoot420 and another GTP'er. I was tuning my 600pp evo x and ended up in your all R8 race....I let you guys have a few second lead at the line but caught you between turn one and two and the "race in me" got the better of me when I saw a gap open up and I went for it, it was a clean pass but the guy on the outside slide wide and off the track (it would have happened anyway). I "tried" to keep up to angel but it was impossible (I must know your R8 setup!). Anyway... after a lap my phone rang and my race went to crap while i tried to shoulder the phone. Same thing happened next race after I switched to my R8 to fit in. SORRY GUYS bad racing night for me.
