Oookay, who is up for another tuner challenge?

Coooool. Noone's angry. :dopey: I expected to get e-stabbed for my review of the Suzuki. :ouch:

 don't worry about it.., sure hope my other entries fair in well.., i can't wait to dominate the AWD division again.., (since everyone here is using the trouble smiley, i might as well use it too) :mischievous::mischievous::mischievous:

I'm not using the trouble smiley. :P:P:P:P;) All my comments are in jest. Like Leo's MR2 being a speedhump for me, or Roj's Supra being a serious entry or Paulie for just being Paulie.

i have almost finished judging the AWD enteries and there were quiet a few suprise cars in there...still have 2 cars left and will be completed mid to late next week

You'd be suprised how much of a fight that Supra can put up despite being non-winged and having less power than my M3. :sly:

By the looks of things, it seems I'm preparing to judge the FF-Class. The Rear-drive comp just seemed full of cars I don't find really exciting to behold.

EDIT: Though, I have driven many of those Rear-drives, and it'll be interestingg to see what others think of them. Both Zs and that MR2 of Leo's, I find wonderful. That trio alone is worth judging the whole class. But, I don't want to pit them against each other anyways.

The RX-7 is good overall, but it is heading in the direction of a drift car, so it lost points fot that, because its about road cars.

Well... Considering it WAS a drift car that I switched to N3s, retuned the suspension, and winged... That's somewhat to be expected. :P

Also RE the RVV N3 CSL needing S3s... Well, yes, it could use them... But then it would be faster than the creator's faithful NSX-R Evo II and we can't have that ;)

Didn't we prove this already in the Spot Race Challenge between you, me and RJ?? :odd: That SRC proved that the Supra is TOO FAT! It's a FAT, TUBBY, LARDY, BUTTERBALL NUGGET and I was the first to admit that, especially around Le Sarthe!! :P:D And that was with 200hp more than what you had!! :nervous:

You seriously are better off with your NSX. ;)

my RX-8 may have one major weakness, but i'll not butt in on your "conversations".., but I DO have high hopes for my Impreza and Civic..,

Ah yeah, but yous had been referring to max power vs Roj's NSX-R.

Ahh, no. I had been comparing his TCv4 Supra to his Evo.II NSX which would've been a much better proposition....especially since Leo's put Mister Black (the speedhump! :P) in. ;) Then seperately to that, with the SCR we compared my Supra's power which was only on a Stage 2 turbo vs your RX and his NSX LM. ;)

Thanks. :) Oddly, I tried many ways to get a graph on the forum (I'm still shellshocked from that endeavour), and it turns out that a screenshot of an Excel file was by far the easiest and apparently quite a pretty way to make it happen. Also, that's Verdana size 8 font. I looked at it up close, and I must say, it's bleeding beautiful, the way it pixelates. I'd heard that Verdana was designed for small computer displays, but I never knew it could do quite so well. I really like Verdana.
Oh wow, you know how to turn a man on...

As much as I loathe sans-serif text, you've picked exactly the right font and size to use.

I dunno how .xls (or whatever it is) works with posting on forums. I'm just assuming this will work wtih gtp. Can we upload .xls to gtp? If so I'll put up my template for people to use.

EDIT:
it's full of diamonds and pearls.
I don't fully understand the analogy. I geddit on the first level (in post-structuralist terms), but I may be missing two or three levels of significance.

RE-EDIT: Sorry, have been marking English essays, so am reading too much into a post on a board largely populated by mechanics, and people who have even less interest in post-structuralist literary theory than I. My brain will start working agian in a day or two.

Well, I meant:

- RWD is full of good car choices, so it will be quite uneasy to pick a winner purely based on car choice.
- Also the less good base cars are quite competitive if tuned right
- Most of the tuners I know wouldn't enter a set-up if it's not tuned (almost) to perfect conditions, especially in a relatively easy to set-up platform as FR/MR.

I'm no mechanic, well not realy (road side tinkering to the BMW R65 '76 count?), but whats wrong with post-structuralist literary theory :ill: I know the odd bike/car mechanic that's read animal farm :odd:

I was considering putting the NSX-R in, but I didnt want to be lazy and just enter existing tunes. ;) I kept the CSL on N3s, not because it would be faster than the NSX, but because I'd have nothing better for the N3 contest. :P

Also, the smilies have Christmas hats! :dopey:

So......I'm waiting sitting here, waiting for people to start judging FWD or RWD. Nothing too much to ask you know. :P

Yes, I want to know if Grand Valley put up with my 350Z :nervous:. It'll be interesting to see how the placings go for everyone 👍

I'm waiting for judging also, even though it happened again. I got bored with GT4. For the past couple days I've been watching 3 stooges dvd's and playing Need for Speed Carbon.

Perhaps a good final ranking of my Megane, RUF, and Hot Rod Lincoln will re-spark my interest in GT4. ;) :D

hmm.. maybe we should put up "Tuner Garage racing series", with horspepower or drivetrain classes.. preferably both. not to mention weight class..💡

I had something else sprout in my twisted little mind. More to allow us to access more information from others to help ourselves, like a union does for it's members. Think of it like this:

One tuner or tuning group starts building up a car. Said tuner gets good performance out of car. Tuner knows that the car can be improved more than he could himself but personally can't figure it out. He then asks this 'union' of tuners to help him find a solution to the problem. You PM specs between eachother or openly to help you get a better solution for that particular situation/track/setup.

The name I had thought up for this was the "TUNING ALLIANCE". All of us combining helping eachother's builds. The original builder/garage would still get the final credits for the original thought into the build, but with assistance credits to other tuners for helping the original tuner with his problem.

We would still be independent of eachother, still doing our own things, but just like the AAA/NRMA, if we need assistance, just one holler and someone else can help out. :)

Sound interesting??

Sorry guys, still going through the FWD 'cause I'm giving even time to each tuner. It's a bit of effort to give them all a fair dinkum go!👍
For a bit of a teaser, I'm impressed with some of them that I didn't think I would be:crazy:so I'll post very soon, as I'm almost done.
I must say as I'm not a FWD fan, it's been enlightening.......

did you get a drift score of 1,000,000+ on any canyon drift event?? cause I just did it with my Initial D-spec RX-7, twice.., :D

Over on my side, I'm getting bored with playing Armored Core: Last Raven .., still waiting for that GameShark disc to finally obtain that OP-I.., so I've gone back to GT4 and tuning a lot of cars.., as for Red-Line, I already have a save replay and an idea on the next chapter, this time I will do a reader's request.., ;)

I second that!:) I think it would be fun

ahh yes, tuners with garages pitting their cars against each other.., good 'ol friendly rivalry..,

it does sound interesting, but.. you forgot that some tuners have their pride..

Amen to that. I just remembered, one time someone here in this forum wanted to help out on my garage, but I didn't accept his offer, because I want to run my garage solo, and let it stay that way.., :)

take your time, don't rush.., get a feel for each and every entry, especially mine.., :dopey:

Been there done that, "Garage Showdowns" was a huge hit.:P I'm hoping to do another Showdown really soon.

I don't remember my drift scores, but I know it wasn't 1,000,000+. I didn't have a car set up for drifting though, I used my '69 Dodge Charger which was set up to be an all arounder, drift, circuit, sprint, etc.

I initially wanted to play Mafia, but my disc got ruined, so I put in some NFS.
I beat the game already, I just had the urge to start up some wild police chases in my Charger. Last night I did one that went almost an hour and a half, then I evaded them. :D

Uhhh, guys, I'm the same. :dopey: I have my pride in my tunes and GME is a solo project and I've knocked back offers to join the garage aswell, but even I admit sometimes that it would be good that some of us from the Big 5 (MFT, RRV, AT, TTL & ETS) help eachother for collaborative efforts and stuff like that. And it would be interesting for example to see you (MFT & TTL) two do a car together. Or me and Roj (GME & RRV) for another example. Stuff like that. ;)

Let's put it this way. What I'm suggesting is what we've sort of been doing when people have been asking for specific tunes and we've given them 4 different settings. For example, let's say one of us wants to do a Lexus IS300 Sport Cross for the Altezza Cup for something different and wants help. We could have 5 different ideas for tunes that we think are the best for that car. The person could then use 1 of those tunes, or pick-n-mix the settings from 1 or more tunes. 👍
We ALL still build our own cars for OUR OWN GARAGES. We ALL still compete AGAINST eachother when it comes to TC's and SRC's and other challenges, and we develop our own paths for our garages, nothing on that line changes. BUT, there are specific cars that people would need to progress (ie. one make series like Peugeot 206 Cup) and it's in that area where we can sort of blur the lines of competition. :)
