Oookay, who is up for another tuner challenge?

Thanks for updating that list, Vince, that will save me quite a bit of time.

My GT4 time has been decimated recently (who'd have thought writing a PhD involves work?), but I'll try and get my mate Mr Lawrence to tune and test for me. He's even more of an amateur than myself, but has a good eye and good turn of phrase.

Is there any class we should focus on? N3 has the fewest entries, therefore the greatest number of potential reviewers, so we'll stay away from that til we've done the rest. My instinct would be to do RWD, FWD, AWD then N3, based on the nuber of entries.

And, just to get up Paulie's nose, very early impressions tell me that Supra>Corvette. This is not based on an examination of the tune, or extensive testing, just a desire to take the piss out of a fellow Aussie.

All I have to say is that if EITHER of my factory spec cars beat ANYONE's winged, lightened, race spec entries I'm going to be having a great big  at those people's expenses. :D:D:D:D And they aren't even the cream of my new crop. ;)

Yeah, I took the easy way out with my 22B-STi and 300ZX on the wings, and I don't usually weight reduce my cars, because their are a couple of race's that only "unmodified" cars (I worked out by chance that that only means non "choped" cars, not a tubro charged Carolla)💡 but I'd noticed the trend and thought why not create a street car that every cop in NSW would nail for being on the street at all:dunce:.
Not many road legal cars are weight reduced in Australia, so I've tried to play the game as Aussie as possible. This is the beautiful part of Japanies cars being right-hand drive:tup: like us, UK, New Zealand and not 100% sure about South Africa.

The RUF cars braking is hard to set at a good balance for over 320kph:scared:(200mph):nervous: I've found with nearly all of them.
The RGT '00 in 3 was better at it than it is in 4 for some reason or maybe I just had it set up better, as I don't own a copy any more:grumpy:, I can't really compair them, but I do remember it being my favourite car in the game, and it could be jacked up to 900bhp, as I recall, which in 4 it can't get anywere near that must juice, but you put Racing tires on one of them and you have a Mean-Machine:scared:

I'm quite sure the TT only has the FWD glitch on the 1.8 models.

EDIT: Sure enough, the 3.2 is proper AWD and therefore no changes to the setup will be allowed.

You spoilt my fun RJ, I had him bricking it.

NURO, I've been doing a similar thing recently, keeping my ride height for street cars above 100mm, no BBC, no GT wing, being cop friendly.

I mean, come on.....it's a bloody pickup you're racing against in RWD!!

 I did once consider including the Tacoma in my garage, IMO I liked the performance especially the brakes, that's what a sports pickup should be. One main problem I had is..........guess what. :P

Well, I couldn't be bothered with N3-class.. I did try, but it was so frustrating that I gave up.. but, I believe to balance over power in the rest of the classes. power might help at Suzuka, but elsewhere it's just going to be a problem.

I made my N3 car (Suzuki Swift) as balanced as possible, since FF cars in GT4 can't handle 300hp and above.., I made a gamble in entering that one, let's see if it pays off.., :)

Still I haven't heard who's gonna judge what really... :P

I'm thinking of Fwd or Awd... Depends on what others do, so tell me what are you going to judge?

Audi TT FF Glitch? I presume that means that, with the 1.8T, it's FF unless you purchase VCD? That would explain the disgusting understeer I experienced.

If only it got the FF weight as well 💡 Do I feel a project car coming on?

No. Actually, no I don't.

Anyway, I'm planning on judging the N3 class (convenient lol) and perhaps FF or FR depending upon other judges' actions. I find FF more interesting, but FR likely more fun (cars, that is).

What's the deadline for judging?

I would be shamed out, if a Maloo can kick the crap out of the real TRD Hilux in very aspect except off roading and load capacity, but on a track I mean the Maloo wipes the floor with it, which in turn gets its teeth kicked in by a Corvette then yes, I'd be ashamed if the Corvette got beaten by your Lo-Lux.

Paulie, my Hilux WILL destroy the Maloo, check the stats as I've more than fixed it's handling woes. But as for your Vette, let's see.......you have 80hp more and 200kg less on me (I have more torque though ;)), and considering I DIDN'T use weight reduction as my car is a "factory" car, I'm more than sure you'll be faster, but it doesn't make it a better car.

Question, whats a Maloo? I figure by Hilux you mean the Taco.

Not sure if I want to be a judge, (or if I'm eligible) but definately want to test every car. I think I purchased and built all the cars, even took them all for a short run while I came up with a plan for testing. I'll take each car on a short test drive consisting of:

3 laps at Nurburgring
3 laps at Sarthe II
2 laps each at my usual test spots like GVS, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, and Apricot Hill.

Possibly go to other tracks after that if needed, and if the wheels haven't fallen off the cars by then.

Still a Tacoma though, it will never be "sporty" like a Maloo is.:P Maybe I will have the chance to show you in GT5 (not holding my breath).:sly:

Edit: Hang on, you only got 0-100 in 5.0sec with semi-slicks almost race slicks?:odd: That's not better than a Maloo.

That's a Maloo. ;)

Paulie, go put my settings on and try it, then see if it's not sporty. :mischievous: Under 60 at Tsukuba mate on S3's, can't knock the figures. :D

Mmm mmm yes that Maloo looks nice.

We can hardly compare GT4 lap times to a real car, your time would put it 2sec faster than an R34 Z-Tune (500hp GTR), 4sec faster than a Gallardo, even 5sec faster than a McLaren F1.:P I'll stick with the Maloo thankyou.:sly:

O.O Then why compare the 0-60 time? Especially when we all know GT4 doesn't have much forward bite in most cases.

To take the piss out.:sly: GT4 does have problems with acceleration traction.

So err, when do we start seeing judging results?💡

I still don't see the point of those UVOs ( Ugly Vehicular Object).. but that isa topic for some other thread. Well, all we can do now is wait.. I'm pretty confident that atleast the handling department of the MR2 and 3000GT are adequate.

if my cars show good enough results in this, I'll change the name of my tuning garage.., :D:)

So thats a Maloo, never heard that name before. Always known it as the Ute.

Rumor was we were going to get it in the states as a Pontiac, but that was before GM started going belly up.

We still have the good old ute's up to SS's (260Kw) adamgp, then you have the Maloo which is a ute on steroids (317Kw)!! :mischievous:

Leo, those things will take a tradesman's whole load and still go side by side with a 911C4!!

You still are getting the 270kw SS as a G8 Ute.

270kw Mafs.;)

That'll pull GM out of the toilet, another 1/2 pickup 1/2 sports car. Just like the Chevy SSR here in the states, an answer to an automotive question that nobody asked. Useless as a truck and as a sports car.

Except the SSR was not even close to being sporty, the SS Ute is now just as fast as the sedan.

Not to mention the ugly!

Though, I recently heard extremely unverified news that GM is killing Saturn, Pontiac, and Saab? I'm not sure about that, though. But if yes, I loved all those companies as of late, and I'd prefer to see a dead Chevrolet. Anyone up for a Pontiac Corvette?:cool:

On topic: I don't want one division to get piled up with judges, and another get neglected, so I'll judge either FF or FR, and N3 for fun.

It isn't rhetorical when I ask: Should I judge FF or FR?

"Which aren't you judging?" will do just as well.

Yeah, but that's comparing apples to banana's with the Maloo. :P

Paulie
270kw Mafs.;)

270Kw now with the VE Series 2, was 260Kw with the Series 1. ;) Just like the Maloo WAS 307Kw & is now 317Kw. :)

Anyway, enough ute talk unless it's about my ute getting a good score in TCv4. :D

No 260kw was only in the VZ, VE SS was always 270kw.;)

Now, hurry up judges and give his Hilux a bad score so we can move on.

Still seems pointless to bring it here since we have real trucks that are just as fast and can do alot more truck stuff, towing, hauling, etc.

Back on topic, I'll be rapping up my testing of the rwd class today.

As far as lap times go, so far only one track where it was not the fastest (GVS). It got edged out (by .1 sec) by a car with significantly lower horsepower (the 'Vette). Everywhere else I've tested, nothing can beat my Hot Rod Lincoln.:sly:

I'm not going to be a judge, but can post my impressions of the cars tonight if anyone wants.
