Tom, you're welcome to join us, but we may have to do something about that screenname. Send a friend request to ORCA_Champ.

Around the rest of Monza the RH tires were great, but putting the power down coming out of the first chicane really wants to make it spin. We could do away with that chicane but I'm not sure if it has enough gear to handle the draft. Up for some testing later?

I think racing hard tires are perfect for any race car. I'm used to PC sims so even the mediums start to feel unrealistic to me. Plus the only slick tires I've been on in real life were mediums and they felt like sports soft to me so I think you guys made the right choice. The tire choices are why I'm so eager to race with you guys, I can't stand how everybody else uses racing soft all the time, they're just not fun/realistic in my opinion.

I'm sorry I missed the boat again this evening. I did not realize we were about to start when I switched into the F430.

For some reason what I hear of the microphones is a bit spotty through the speakers, so I tend to miss a lot of information. I will try to be more aware in future.

:) No worries Marcus, we were just messing about. I know people without headsets can't always hear us so any important stuff I always type out but we just wanted to see if the RM Camaro had enough gear for Monza sans chicanes so you were fine in the Scud. :sly:

Turns out the Crapmaro does have enough gear so I think we'll run it without chicanes and on RH tires. 👍

Wanted posting:
Looking for some missing gear items in the colors I tend to run. I checked with Brandon first, he was cool with this posting (please keep all trade comments through PM). Willing to send back what I can in trade (either gear, cars, dlc painted cars, etc.). Any and all help is appreciated.

Very good then; I don't feel so bad.

I am going to have a smoke, and then I'll be back in the lounge in a couple of minutes to run a few laps if anyone would like to join

Edit: I just hopped back into the lounge. After setting up the parameters, my Camaro was denied entry due to the transmission ratios. I reset the transmission to default and was then allowed to reenter the track. While I never completed a lap in practice before the race earlier this evening, I still noticed the car would top around 262kph, where after I reset the ratios it now runs about 272kph. I believe that with this car, like some others, it is necessary to reset the transmission when changing wheels.

^ I discovered the same thing about the transmission when I put after-market wheels on, had to reset the ratios. I didn't notice the difference in speed though, that's interesting.

Yesterday, during my very brief appearance in the ORCA loundge, I realized the you where lapping in 41 and I was lapping in 46, with hard work I might be able to do 44.
It made me realize that I do not belong, as my performance are preventing me from racing you and just sharing the same loundge does not present any interest to me.
I would like to thank you for welcoming me in your group and wishes you a lot of fun and hard competition in your future events.

Don't be intimidated by speed - In ORCA we have members of all abilities and we all have fun racing together. There is no impatience shown with slower drivers here, infact quite the opposite. The faster drivers are more than willing, indeed volunteer, advice and information to all.

At the end of the day, we are all here to have fun - GT5 is a game and while we want our racing to be clean and sensible, we're here to have fun as well. Please, stick around. I promise you'll enjoy the company here.

Right On 👍 100% the mission statement of this group.

Thank you very much for your kind message, I have had the opportunity to spend some time with a few member of Orca and I agree 100% everyone is very supportive, always ready to help and has no issue accepting slower drivers.
I am not intimidated by speed, give me a faster car than the one with more talent and we will all be going the same speed.
The point you need to understand is: It is nobody's fault but mine, if I am slower than other but still I have no fun racing on my own in a league.
If at the end of every lap you are 4 second slower, it means every one is gone and where is the fun or the racing in that?
I need ( and might not be the only one) a league where we all have similar pace.

+1. Cote, I've had the privilege of running door to door with you in the VCRC and you're a very clean/respectful driver and we care more about that than anything else. You were in a room with Marcus last night, he's 2-3 seconds faster than most of us at most tracks, but we generally have a very wide range of driver skill in our field and some of the best battles for for the mid-pack (I know from experience!). So there is definitely room for you in ORCA.

Also, with our new format we'll be floating between low-power, mid-power and high-power. Last night we were in the high-powered race car so differences in time will be greater, but in the lower powered Brera Sky the lap times should be much closer across the field. So, hopefully we've convinced you to stay but I also totally understand if you stick with your original opinion. Hope to see you on track again soon! 👍

Thank you for the compliments, I will definitely give myself the chance to try racing in Orca with the Brera, even if so far all of Orca driver are in a different talent league ( might even be different planet.LOL) than me. I might have a chance to race some of you in mid or tail pack. For me it is not about winning, it is about having fun doing passes and or close racing other Humans ( or even low talented Aliens. LOL)

Brandon, scary part was that 41 was me ;). I just love the Camaro and Monza. Marcus is wicked fast though. Cote, I am all for racing with you anytime. Don't give up on ORCA just yet. I am usually a middle of the pack driver with our larger turnouts, but continue to learn and gain more speed by running with these guys. I am still interested in your same pace racing.

I am laping in the Brera in the 1'20.5XX this afternoon in free run with Hard Sport, best lap 1'20.414. I can see a possible 1'19.9xx for me if everything align perfectly.
Am I going to have fun tonite?

Edit: Went online in ORCA_Champ loundge, did 1'19.3xx. with 262 HP

Thanks for coming around Cote. One thing you should do is make sure the car is broken in if it's not already. An oil change and break in on a new car is good for 5-7% more power, maybe more on some cars. An extra 10-15 hp in this car can make a substantial difference. I haven't driven the car at all yet so I can't say where I'd be in relation to those times. Probably won't get a chance to drive it until just before the race.

Cote, don't fret over the time disparity. There is a wide range of skill levels within the group, and there is always someone to race with on course. As mentioned, changing the oil to meet the power level of the rest of the drivers is important with these spec races. And I must say, the one time I went past you; you were very courteous and composed. Do you use the DS3 or a wheel?

Thank you for the kind words, Brandon. TB7 had the best time on course while I was in the room with you guys. I completed one lap and was perplexed at how you guys were happy with the gearing while I was hanging topped at 163mph for the whole front straight. When I reentered the room I reset the transmission, and the car went right up to 169mph and the lap times dropped into the 1'39s.

I ran the Brera only three or four laps and was just barely dipping into the 1'17s, and I'm sure that is still a bit off pace there.

We are running the Brera on Sport Medium tires, toss those on and should be good for a couple seconds! If Marcus is at 1:17 I'd say the rest of us will be around 1:18-1:19. My car is no where near broken in so I won't be fully up to pace tonight. But make sure you change your oil right away on any new car, it upgrades it to "performance" oil and is good for a handful of ponies. I think you will likely have some fun tonight. We do two short races, second with reverse grid so if the first race doesn't go so well you'll start up front for the second race. 👍

I am driving with a Carrera Fanatec and CSRElite pedals. I am getting used to the loading cel braking. I love the feeling but it did not make me faster yet.

I was on Sport Hards with the Brera. Oh well.

Oh, really? Few posts above says SH. And I'd those are adequate.

Agreed. You guys really changed it? I'd still really like to join the race. I friend requested ORCA_Champ but no response. You guys are racing tonight right?

I tested on SH as well, they seemed more than appropriate for the Brera.

I have no idea where I got sports medium from, must have been the talk about race medium's on the Camaro. I was running mediums last night. :dunce: Sports hard it is then.

I'm getting ready to open the ORCA_Champ lounge now, bring your Alfa's to the mountains!

Logging in to accept your FR now. You're welcome to join us. 👍

You won't see the yellow dot above the coffee cup because the ID isn't online, but click the cup and you'll see us in there and can join.

Well, what did ya think? I had quite a good time, probably the best races I've ever had at Eiger.

Eiger was great, I had a very good time, finished last but could still see everybody. Broke my one lap record during the race, so I was pushing as hard as I could. I will be there next week. If it had been my call I would have stayed in the Mountains all evening.
