Glad you guys are ok.

The only time I've locked up the brakes in a car, it had ABS. It was the same car I managed to stall despite it being automatic.

The Merc(ury)? I'm still impressed by that skill.

Wait, I don't think "skill" is the word I'm looking for..............

the hot wheels double loop is with Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy they will start at opposite ends, they are trying to set a world record.
i just want to vent for a second, i was driving through Mammoth, Ca. today coming down a canyon on the freeway at a good clip when a truck pulling a 5th wheel trailer pulled out in front of us trying to cross the highway making a left turn I'm doing 75-80. He never even looked left just pulled out. It was just a reaction move but thankfully I was able to get to the brakes and swerved must have had a angel on our side today!
the ABS lies that front right tire took a beating just glad to be alive tonight thank you big guy upstairs

Glad your ok man, Ive driven cross crountry more than a few times and used work as a delivery driver (not pizza) in NJ, one thing Ive noticed is everyone drives like a d bag, always anticipate people in front of you doing stupid things and never trust turn signals.

Wait, someone, somewhere, used their turn signal :scared: Around my town they just:
  • Turn without ever looking and most certainly not using any sort of signaling device. And they do that in the middle of intersections just to make it more "fun". I almost got a nailed when some guy in a mustang decided he could "just" make the gap between myself and the car in front as we are going though the light.
  • Randomly come to a complete stop in the middle of an intersection :grumpy:.
  • Pull U-turns right in front of 45-50MPH on coming traffic, and almost all of them done by people in trucks so they take up both lanes for a long time.
  • Wait till the very last second to change lanes and blow past you on the right side doing 65MPH or better in a 40 MPH zone.

It always amazes me with the stupid things people do on the road, it amazes me more that I never see them get into wrecks. I used to work in China and their driving system is insane, they basicaly only stop at stop lights, everything else is fair game, a 3 lane road will turn into a 5 lane road in seconds and people are walking all over the street in traffic and cars are parked all over the sidewalks. But there everyone is used to it and they drive accordingly, I was very suprized to see how well it worked. And for the record I dont really think people hurting themselves is entertainment, but I do like to joke about it, anyway Im done taking things wayyyy off topic, lets race Sivias soon.

Pretty sure turn signals are optional equipment on American Cars. LoL

Over here, turn signals are optional on taxis and BMWs!

Bad driving is prevalent here too: I've see people stop on roundabouts, reverse up one-way streets and drive across railway crossings when the barriers were coming down.

Watching the x games rally races makes me wonder why they dont have a track like this in gt5. Part street, part dirt with a jump would be super fun IMO. Looks like they put a deck over the gap jump because a driver kinda hit head first into the wall of the landing ramp but he only had a badly broken ankle. They could atleast take out the dust cloud on the rally tracks in the game so you could see who your racing with, Im all for realism but every once in a while a brother wants to jump a car or two. Thats my rant for the day, Ill try to stop all these random posts I promise.

I was watching the XGames as well. The start with Travis Pastrana was like an online race. I've always accused people who dive into turn one of driving unrealistically. Apparently I was wrong. It's particularly funny considering I had the exact same thing happen to me in a game in an open lobby at GP/F.

I feel bad for him, sad way to start. I was really pulling for the Darts.

I should be on around 7:30 or 8 EDT tonight (1.5-2 hours from now). Hope we can get a few cars on track, need some pics for the new thread. :sly:

I really enjoy the oval too, so nice to have a "proper" oval in the game. The other two are nice but they're both pretty non-standard as far as ovals go. The only problem is that during the time when it's counting down to green 3...2...1 it seems the "auto-pilot" of the pole sitter crashes into the wall every time and then shoots forward down the track. I don't see that it has any real effect on the race but it's sure screwy!

I'm thinking the first race will be at Tsukuba, the second at the Motegi Oval, the final race will be Motegi Road Course Full.....I'm undecided on the third race. Many options, including another day-to-night-to-day race at la Sarthe which was one of my all-time favorite ORCA races. :)

You can never go wrong with Grand Valley East Reverse. Or the Nurburgring 24H day-night-day.

Nurburgring would be EPIC but it's really a bad track for door-to-door racing.
la Sarthe is better for racing IMHO.
