Yeah, good luck everyone! I feel it may be a low-scoring contest! :sly:

On a more important note, here are this weeks race highlights from Tokyo... FINALLY! :dunce:

Round 2 (Tokyo R246 Reverse) Highlight Reel - Photographed by X3rx3s44

TokyoR246Reversev1.jpg

The grid is set for the start of Round 2 in the 2011 ANZ Lexus IS F RM Championship...

TokyoR246Reversev2.jpg

The leaders plow into turn 1, Stig made a good start and out-braked both Bonson and Waynz, whilst I also out-braked them to make it 3-wide at the front heading into turn 1... :nervous:

TokyoR246Reversev4.jpg

A couple of laps in and our 3-car breakaway group battles coming up through the twisties in sector 1, Stig ran wide and got poor drive holding up Bonson in the process and allowing me to make a run down the inside of the first left bend... This is super-close! 👍

TokyoR246Reversev6.jpg

Stig gets some free air as Bonson and I jostle for position as we weave our way left and right through the bends...

TokyoR246Reversev7.jpg

...Coming into the double-left at the end of sector 1 and I have managed to hold my ground through the bends allowing me the inside line and forcing Bonson to yield as we battle-on toward the end of sector 1! :D

TokyoR246Reversev8.jpg

Some laps in and things have settled as people make stops for damage and tyres, here, Mike starts his charge for the win and slips by Taital through the fast kink on the start/finish straight... Wow Taital, that looks like your running some serious front camber there! ;)

TokyoR246Reversev13.jpg

Really not much else to report through the race as everyone made moves up and down the running order prodominantly during stops. So here we are at the last corner of the race, Mike and I had battled hard for 7 laps and with my tyres gone (18 laps, 1 set of Mediums!... :scared:) and substantial damage it would take a miracle for me to hold Mike out with the exceptional speed and consistency he displayed! I thought I had him covered though as we entered the final turn...

TokyoR246Reversev14.jpg

...But what's this! As we cross the line, Mike has JUST edged ahead to take a well-deserved win! Well done Mike! 👍 I thought this should make the highlight reel to show what 0.011 seconds looks like as we streaked across the line!...

Again, we had another very sedate race with not much in the way of battles, most of the position changes were made in the pitstops and everyone seemed to have more of those than they would have liked! ;)
Looking forward to the sprint races in Round 3, they will make for some great photos I have no doubt! 👍 Also hopefully, the pit lane can be less utilised at Deep Forest, although, I have a feeling with the undulating nature of the track there will still be a few people stop for repairs throughout the sprints!

Cheers, Xerx :)

^^^ Great pictures

And here's the Video of the latest round:

There was a really good 3 way battle up the front for a number of laps.

Also Taital and Mike-ekiM for a bunch of laps. I tried to feature what I could.

Great pictures

Here's the Video of the latest round.

Cheers

Video looks awesome mate! 👍

I was so diappointed in myself after what happened with Bonson... 👎
We had been having an epic battle and you captured that beautifully! As it turned out I had great battles at each end of the race for the first and last handful of laps then just circulated for the majority of the rest!...

sorry waynz clearly my camera angle didnt pick that bit up.
As we could see you did get shunted wide my apologize mate,

Hi guys, I was looking at another thread here on GTPlanet. They recently held a 4 hour long LeMans race. Anyway in the OP there's this bit of advice to make for less lag and better connections:

REMEMBER TO CLEAR THE ONLINE CACHE BEFORE ENTER THE PRIVATE LOUNGE

In order to have GT5 working flawlessly on-line besides clear your cache from the in-game options/network menu it's better to open, for the PS3 IP, the following ports on your firewall (from GT5 manual inside the game):

TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658
UDP 5658

and also, if it's possible in your router, to put the PS3 IP in the DMZ function.
This two operations will make possible to have less lag and room connection problems.

I don't know the reasons or the whys, but it must mean something.

Awesome pics and vids Mic and X3rx, especially that last picture :) Epic finish.
From what I saw it was a great race with some unfortunate incidents, and the three tier handicap system worked really well.
I look forward to the next round, I'm going to have a pretty hard time keeping up with the guys on softs :scared:
Cheers everyone 👍

Thanks dude, my isp said, everything is fine, im going to get rid of my firewall for the next race, so im directly connected. Hopefully i can race next round, because i really enjoyed the videos so far, and i love the close competition.

sorry waynz clearly my camera angle didnt pick that bit up.
As we could see you did get shunted wide my apologize mate,

That's OK bud... Were all human in the end...

I'll be on for some last minute practise and a chance to earn bonus points :dopey:

There is now a 'Mini game' to our series from now on.

Aim of the game: To catch Oni online and playing GT5, seeing him actually on the track is not needed, all you need is to have a pic from your phone or camera of him online in GT5 on the XMB menu with the time and date in the top right corner.
[/SIZE]

I've been trying, quite seriously, and so far . . . zippo :indiff:

Won't be racing tonight boys.

Been absolutely swamped all week at work.

Had no time to practice and am about to just collapse into bed. Good luck all and Cya's next week.

Lol funny guys...

Ok Bonson we will catch you next race.

The original post has been updated to reflect the point system for Sprint Races.

After fixing my connection, i was able to join xerxes lounge(which i could not do before) and drive around uninterupted for more than 30 minuntes, i was absolutely frustrated by constantly being thrown out. Hence you will understand why i can't participate anymore, im sorry, but i am more frustrated than anyone, because this league was just what i was looking for.......i resign from the competition :(

Yeah sucks about the connection issues pawell i reckon you would have enjoyed it bud.

also on that note i resign aswell.

I resign from the competition :(

Mate, that is a huge disappointment!... 👎
I thought you were set when you managed to run freely around in my room earlier tonight, sorry to hear you are leaving mate... Feel free to come test in my lounge anytime you wish mate! 👍

I resign aswell.

SERIOUSLY!... :scared:
Why mate...!? What's that all about!?... It is a big call mate... Are you not enjoying it, got something better on or something else...?
If there is any way we can help keep you in let us know!...

Cheers, Xerx :)

Lost , dont leave man !! Take a week or 2 off and come back fresh. It's not the same without you mate.

Now apologies: I'm really , really sorry about the parade lap incident Lost. I watched the replay and I should have given you more room in the tunnel as I passed. I just wanted to get closer to my grid position (which as it turned out was all out of whack when we lined up , I had #8 written down but it was taken when I got there ??)
Anyway , I didn't get any damage from the tunnel and I hope you didn't either. When you spun on the last corner of parade lap you went invisible so no damage there either. I hope I didn't contribute tonight to your thoughts on leaving the series. Please reconsider !:guilty:

Evan: Pretty sure there was no contact between us in turn 1 late in the race although it was very close from memory. You looked to be struggling on very worn tyres and possibly damage too ?

Mick: Our photo finish turned out to look nothing like a dead heat. I guess the actual finish line in the game isn't on the painted lines ?

Deep Forest Raceway Photo Finish by spinnerpics1, on Flickr

All in all , one of the better nights racing I've had in a long time. The new and improved cockpit is helping I think. No more flexy coffee table , she's gone for good :)

Yeah u gave me rear damage on the parade lap hence the last corner was very touchy on the colds and no it wasnt that spinner buddy not at all mate actually surprised me because it wasnt all of a hit either. in real life u would have just probably cracked my rear bumper.

i will race as wildcard at monza i cant have one of my fav tracks in the rain missed!!!

when we lined up thier was a free car spot infront of me well 2 i think so i just rolled up into were 11th position was on grid and sat thier, mr Oni was mucking around in his grid position i was just thinking geez bugger it im starting here i dont care lol,

I got help to setup my router properly, and managed to connect to your room(which i was unable to do before), and was so happy and excited to race, but since its the second time, this disconnection is happened, im afraid i won't be able to participate, i don't want to leave, but the server won't allow me to stay. But i will take that offer, to keep running in your room, it is fun to test and trade lap times. And try again next week to join the race, but i am pretty certain the same will again happen.

Just mentioning that I've changed my paint scheme to bright red with black rims,
so hopefully I haven't inadverdently stolen someone's paint scheme for the third week in a row
See you all next week, this track should be interesting... Hope you end up deciding to continue Lost.
Cheers, Mike--ekiM

Great race boys! Congrats to X..you had the game to go all 18 race laps on the same set of rubber..it paid off!:) That second race, I think; had I have not spun coming onto the start straight, I might have been able to close the gap on Xerxes. I swear they water the grass right next to the ripple strip...you should have seen how fast I went round!!:scared:

On a side note, I'll see if I can catch Oni in the act...:sly: Poor Oni, everyone is gunning for him, on track and off.
