Oh yeah , forgot to mention why I dropped out part way through the quali session. Major hardware glitch , not just a frozen screen. I had to turn off the console at its on / off switch. When it restarted it prompted a corrupt data check. I've never been through that before. Crapping my dacks I was !!
Also I believe most of us had trouble watching peoples laps tonight. I sat there and watched the splits for most of the session , trackside cameras didn't pick up the drivers on track. Another first , I've never had that before. Yet more issues to patch please PD. Lets pray for a glitch free series !

Great qualy last night Oni, like many, think I've got some further tweaking to do the get this rocket ship sorted.

Taits, nice vids m8, in the one at Fuji, there must have been at least a coat of paint or two's distance between u and stape and then Oni by the looks, crazy.

I got videos of Tokyo and Wayn your lag was shocking!!

Isn't that normal when there's too much going on for the server? There was a few that was lagging for me. But when we where racing normally (eer not Tokyo) everything seemed to smooth out.

Oni mate sorry I didnt make qual, the earliest I can get home and jump on is thursday night.

Hmm.. if i am not online on that day see if taital or Jazza can get your time otherwise i will just put you into Tier 2 if we cannot get a time off you.

As we was all watching everyone's laps around Tokyo then raced there without a refresh of track there was serious lag. As you said once we changed tracks everything started smoothing out. I doubt we will see such issues come race day as usual.

I was on the end of the last one, where he scratched my front bumper. I remember seeing taitial charging down in my rear view mirror, and sliding past me. Probably the funniest moment i had in a online race in GT5.

^^^

I'm likely for a Wednesday evening, or possibly it might be Thursday evening.

I was thinking, if Rotamaster is doing a Thus quali then I might join that session to save you guys ( Oni and the officals ) having to run multiple Quali sessions.

The following people we are waiting to do times for.

Date not advised
- Rusty

Thursday 1st March
- Mike--ekiM
- Rotamasta7
- Mick_C

If we do not get times for people by Thursday night then anybody without a qualifier time will be put into Tier 1. Also any new wildcards joining the series will automatically be put into Tier 1. But don't fret, as the series goes on ballast for every driver will be adjusted if need be.

What!!? Wow! What a lap.

What!!? Wow! What a lap.

It actually would of been a 1:36 high. Cause he was 4 tenths down on his first split from the previous lap which was a 37.9 and tapped the wall on 2nd last corner losing a few more tenths.

BTW a note to those that wanted to qualify on Thursday. Well PSN is going down on Thursday for several hours so i am not sure when it will be up. Possibly Friday morning as they like to do maintenance during Aussie peak hours.

I'll be qualyfing tonight, hopefully nipple boy will have a perv and let u know bout the result. I cant see myself going under the 1:40's though, as everyone has already stated, this car is the understeer king. I've tried 2 different setup directions, one with a REALLY stiff rear end and soft front, and one with stiff front and rear. Still no joy!
Also, I applied for a position with Spinamadroota, looks like ive been accepted!! I love cheddar cheese! almost as much as chocolate milk..

Hmmm PSN work again :grumpy:

I haven't had a chance to turn a single lap of Tokyo in practice, I was planning to get some done tonight.

Perhaps if one of you guys is going to be on-line sort of late tonight (due to Qld - NSW time difference) I could just get it done tonight after getting some practice in.

PSN is supposed to be down from 16:00 GMT and could be down for up to 14 hours.

That converts to 2am - 4pm Friday , Sydney time.

^^^

Yeah that GMT conversion thing we seem to forget.

So is Thursday night going to be okay?

Looks that way

The first big off since the great PSN melt down of 2011.

That's quite a long time to take themselves off the air and they aren't saying anything (not that they ever do) about what they're up to this time.

Probably a pre-emptive security update and some more mods to make the cloud work better. First big update since the full launch of Vita worldwide as well and the whole renaming of the PSN to SEN or whatever there calling it now. There should be some new bits added to it by the time they switch it on again I reckon.

I'm just anonymously speculating though. What? Did I say something wrong? Hang on there’s someone at the door...:nervous:

A few more drivers managed to find some time tonight to run the qualifier and the spreadsheet has been updated.

Now onto information regarding Ballast. I will send this as a PM via the PS3 to the drivers as well to ensure everyone knows what weight they are running. With the Ballast you can put the extra weight anywhere you want on the car.
________________________________________________________________________________

Ballast Rules.

Tier 1 - 100kgs (1462kg)
Tier 2 - 50kgs (1412kg)
Tier 3 - 0kgs (1362kg)

________________________________________________________________________________

This is effective as of now. Drivers who haven't ran the qualifier will not have to add weight during their qualifier but must add the weight once finished and before race 1.

Unfortunately Oni, I suspect a weight bonus may turn out to be a boon, and not a hindrance, as I believe most of the fast runners were running with ballast anyway.

I ran with none during qualifying, but will probably end up having to add it plus some rear downforce to reduce the ice-skating, in a vain attempt to avoid becoming a mobile chicane.

Doesn't matter, just passing comment. Work is so boring. :grumpy:

That's better! Check the ass wheels on that Honeyummer?

It does help stick the car to the ground , I agree. I ran 40kgs in Quali but after removing it for testing at Fuji last night , I found the car gets out of corners quicker and although I have no data to back this up , I am certain tyre wear will be ~% better without the added weight. But at some tracks , ballast will be a boon , I agree.

That said, fast drivers will always be fast and one extra pitstop during a race may cost them a position or two at worst I reckon. This is going to be really interesting .......
