It does help stick the car to the ground , I agree. I ran 40kgs in Quali but after removing it for testing at Fuji last night , I found the car gets out of corners quicker and although I have no data to back this up , I am certain tyre wear will be ~% better without the added weight. But at some tracks , ballast will be a boon , I agree.
That said, fast drivers will always be fast and one extra pitstop during a race may cost them a position or two at worst I reckon. This is going to be really interesting .......
Slave away at a setup and you can make anything work. I found shifting the weight to the rear all the way wears the rears faster than the front, so Div 1 drivers can do that but Div 2 drivers might pip them in pit stops.
I think this might be one series where setup sharing is out of the question
