Nice Wilco, I didn't realise there was so much carnage in that crash, crazy stuff!

I'll make sure to keep an eye on any further vids. :)

Now I'm off to play Battlefield instead of practice for the race

Good stuff Wilco , looking forward to seeing HD versions !

Hoping for a friendly network tonight , it's been so bad over the weekend , many , many DCs and rooms collapsing !

Mine was that bad today I had trouble doing the seasonals .. I didn't bother trying as it would only be the same story as last week.

Good luck to my fellow nipples and hope the rest of you guys remain lag free (mostly).

I don't understand this game, one day its fine, the next i don't have a hope in hell of racing. And my car was setup pretty decent for suzuka, and i felt really confident.

I mean, sure there was some problems with other divers, but i was still able to see the whole grid besides mike last week, and was able to stay in the lobby without any problem, also, i never got disconnected, even after PSN just came back on.
This week was the same driver lineup, my connection was the same as last week, i checked. So what was the problem?
What was so different to last week?

I'm pretty sure it's playing games with me, i'm very certain it's trying to **** with me.

I'm going to go out and try buy a new router, see if that helps.

Was a rough race for me. Made contact with a few ppl.. Sorry.
Binned it all by myself many times also.
Looking forward to the next round.

Got away to a good start but then got passed and pushed wide at the end of the back straight the freight train followed(strategy and tyre wear out the window)stayed middle field consistent lap times until getting tagged at the end shame my car was picking up pace.not much fun

Good race for me, we had a good 4 way battle all race with all different tire strategies. Was a good feeling to crack my first win after being so close so many times and on the last lap as well. Good racing oni, jas and mike.

Hope your feeling better Oni it must have been a very hard race for you and so close to making it to the end after leading most of the way.

I even managed to do a little drifting into turn one:scared:

Well my race turned out surprisingly well considering.

I went off 3 times, in the same spot, on the first corner, while trying to look behind me to see where people were.
You'd think I'd learn, but no lol.

Same thing on the final lap. I'm in the lead with Jol approaching, we come up to 130R I think it's called and I look behind to check he's not passing, I clip the grass and go sliding all the way through the corner and Jol overtakes.
I was pretty annoyed with myself.

Nice race Jol, you certainly had the pace on me in the end. :)

Edit: Oh yeah and Pawel, I think we should be called Team Persistence.
After the constant effort you put in to make it every week, despite GT5's many network issues.

Well done all for an interesting night. That was one of the toughest nights racing. That car on that track what a handfull. I think everyone must have had some sort of moment. And to top it off projectile vomiting. Hey thank god for no mic's on race day !!!

Did anyone go to mediums last night?

I did no tyre wear testing until qual and found the hards wearing out after 6 or 7 laps of pushing, so come up with 4 x 7 laps = 28.
Worked a treat
What didn't work a treat was binning twice on the first lap, the hards are less than impressive when cold.
Turning a gift of a qualifying position to ten place!!.

Hey but had some fun watch alot of other guys struggling with setups and a very unforgiving track.

Nice little battle with stape mid race, you pitted and rocketed away from me and I couldn't match you for pace, I was hoping you were on mediums and that you would have to pit. I think you pitted shortly after and I got back around you,
I watched the first couple of laps on the play and I had a big moment on the two left hander leading to the back straight that almost ended both our races, ( phew ) Photos to follow.

I bet we all have some cool photos from last night

Anyway congratulation Jol, well done
And bad luck Oni, hope you're feeling better

Evan

I couldn't wait to get on mediums Ev ! I ran them from 6 onwards , my car was woeful on hards.....wasn't exactly magic on mediums either haha.

Had quite a few excursions off track , Ev had front row seats to the best one. Thankfully no one else got tangled up with me. Also had some good laps with Moon which balanced it out a bit , wasn't all pain and frustration :scared:

Massive props to Oni for hosting whilst being so crook and for sticking it out until he could no longer drive. I would have parked it early on and hit the couch in your position. Anyway , thanks mate. 👍

I didn't watch all of the replay yet but from what I did see .... was Oni fastest lap ?

Started on video for race 2, saved it and noticed it was 18min long, and 2.4gig!!
FFS!! Bit of trimming to do!
I'll try finish it tomorrow and upload it for ya's.

Top shots Ev, how close was that!

Till Will's production goes to air 👍 a few happy snaps from Steward Race Control...:gtpflag:

3, 2, 1 ... Taits, you switched it on mate?

picture.php

GO! Four wide drag race into turn one, amazingly everyone gets through (mostly) unscathed...

picture.php

Ermm, scenic shots...I'm no good at them!

picture.php

Casting aside extreme sickness, Mr Chan leads us out...

picture.php

Spin's doing anything but that here, with an incredible oppy lock save on lap one...

picture.php

Mike punts it down the inside of Jol on the start of lap three...

picture.php

Cactus screams it into the pits on lap eight as Jol and Jasr prepare to exit...

picture.php

Oh dear. Note to self: that's not the line.

picture.php

Willco also momentarily losing the line...

picture.php

Under pressure from Jol, Mike makes a rare mistake on the final lap touching the grass on entry and then pulls off the mother of all recovery sides at 200kph+ Jol keeps it straight and takes a well deserved win.

Awesome Will, really nice piece of work. 👍👍 Great alternative angle cut scenes, captured the intensity of the whole thing nicely.

Where a pretty hard core bunch aren't we?!

All we need is Crompto doing some voice overs and few transitional graphics and you could sell it to the networks! :sly:

Well done Willco, the footage is awesome and you really captured the spirit of this series. Like Jas said its like watching the highlights of a real event.
Apart from a few little touches, which is near impossible when racing this close, very clean racing.

Spinner and Taital, some of the best saves ever seen.👍

Brilliant vid Wilco ! Seems a few of us had the same crash on the long right hander at the back of the course (2.13), the car was a bugger running wide there hey.

Good to see a highlights package , like Jas said , would be awesome to dub in some Crompton audio clips. How good would that be ! Anyone got the time and skills to do that ? :)

Ev: Taitals may have been a skillful save , mine was dumb luck haha !

The car was an absolute handful on every bit of track that wasn't completely straight! Places where you could go flat out in most cars, you could not in the Vantage.
Its definitely a testing series / car for all of us, even the front runners ALL had an off at some stage. Good choice Oni, good car which tests all the drivers, while allowing us to go head to head in some close racing.👍

Made good use of the day off, what you gunna do for the other 6!

As the graph shows, I need more speed, so I thought tomorow I would start working on the aerodynamics, starting with a "Back, Crack 'n' Sack Wax" in the morning, and spend the afternoon working on the 'Vantage. :sly:
