Love your work Will, still makes me shake my head when I watch the last clip though. :dunce:

On another note, what are we going to do about qualifying positions?
I qualified pole for Suzuka and ended up starting 8th I think, and Wayne got well and truly gipped when he qualified pole for Fuji.

Are we just going to run whatever position GT starts us in or consider other options?

Edit: Yeah Ev, I can't see Cactass' picture either.

Also, how many laps for the sprint race at Clubman Stage Route 5?

Just got to watch the race video. Good work Wilco 👍

I know there's a lot of work has to go into putting one of those together.

Also shows how close and wild the racing is with these Vantages.

I agree, I persoanlly don't get affected by this problem, but i think if i was getting quickest lap in qually then starting at the back, i would not be happy.

I would say bring back the warm up lap, but I know a lot of you hate this. I think spin and taital have tried many times to voice their method and i think we should run with it. Im not 100% sure what it is, but i think it involves quickly getting lined up in the correct order and doing a lap or even just parking it in the right order then starting the race. Im sure taital, spin, or someone else will clear the method up. But mike is right, something has to be done.

P.s. If there isnt actually anyone hating on the warm up lap idea i deff say bring it back, i f'ing loved it. Brought another realistic feature to our weekly races. Just need to give everyone more space. No swerving to warm up tyres. Its not hard if every takes their time. I would say rolling start but thats never ganna happen with such a big crowd.

Im easy either way, as you say roota, did add another element to the race.. was good.. except when taital was warming tyres and collected ppl!

Awkward lol, he spent 3 hours and missed a name lol

No names are missing according to my replay (except PAWEL, who lost connection just as the race was starting).

Going to test an idea tonight, cac and will know about it but watch this space!

You'll have to remind me. 1 half baked idea surrounded by 2 hours of drivvel is hard to remember. :sly:

I think I qualified around 6th and ended up starting last. To be honest, I believe on this occasion the reason for the randomising was due to someone not leaving the grid before Oni asked everyone to jump back on, and not due to GT5.

That's not to say that GT5's lag and server issues lately will not require race restarts, and therefore randomising of the grid, as I believe happened at the first race. (wasn't there due to work)

Grid Stuff Ups :- GT5=1, People=1

I've heard {read of course} that other series here on GT Planet do this and it works.

Do our standard quali session then reset the track and we drive out and park up in correct order. That counts as a new quali session and Gt5 usually gets it right.

Warm up lap did work thinking back to the ISF, but I can remember getting damage on the warm up lap on 2 occasions (there could be more) and that the warm up lap was pretty stressful :nervous:

If I'm doing a warm up lap I'm going to warm my tyres, that time at deep throat raceway will was cause I couldnt see infront of you and you braked just as I was starting to - happens in real life racing too, the method im speaking I hope to test tonight if anyone is on

When we used to do the parade lap etc , by the time we all got lined up and got going the tyres were as good as stone cold anyway. And there was almost always some confusion about grid positions between a couple of drivers. It was kind of cool to do it for that series but I'd much rather leave it behind.

Bit of a sweeping generalisation here but even with a screwed up grid , the cream rises to the top after an hour of racing anyway.

Having said that , I'm happy to test your method tonight Taital. :)

More videos from Monday's race

The big crash featuring Rota and myself from his view

Roota and myself crashing after repairing damage

etc

How come you guys aren't putting the vids up it like this??

BTW the crash after damage repair one had me laughing

Ok guys 5 of us (and 1 guy not in the series) tested a new way to sort out the glitches in starts not matching qualifying.

Ok so we qualify as normal, leave track as normal but you must remember your position, if not once everyone is off track you are able to goto watch race and view your live timing which we tested to show the correct times and positions current at the time we left track.

Once you know this we go back to track, exit pit lane and line up ON CIRCUIT in your position, race starts based on the order you are lined up on circuit providing all drivers left track.

Simpler then it looks and never played up in our testing.

I've also made a video I hope to upload tomorrow morning if not tomorrow night, explaining how to use the new starting technique.

Now i aplogise about me talking, but I couldn't find a voice over at short notice

-TRIAL ONLY- The following is not an agreed decision by the stewards, and is only my view on the incident -TRIAL ONLY
Feedback on this?

Racing incident. Roota has no control over the car, his wheels are turned left when he rejoins the track, but no control has he is sliding. Unfortunately, stape cannot see him coming either..
its just a racing incident.
If anything, Taital should be penalized for being within 10m of an accident:crazy::crazy:

Your voice sounds so different on utube mr T I'm thinkn maybe there's more than 1 of you(shudder violently ) lol

I meant feedback on the concept of showing the incident you goose will haha, and then the VoiceOver
Hmm...

Official View on Roota vs Stape

Clearly, you are 'on something' McTaital. Dont know what it is, but it must be some good ****.

There's always one who feels the need to get a piercing, just to be different. :sly:
