There's always one who feels the need to get a piercing, just to be different. :sly:

Some say that when he brakes for corners his tyres change colour, and that when he eats cheese he doesn't bother chewing. But all we know is, HE MOONS THE WORLD

You mean yours don't pulsate? Haha I didn't notice but I did rewind a few times so maybe it's another replay glitch

Does that in replay mode when fresh tyres are cold. Seems to be indicating load rather than temp. Has been there for as long as I can remember.

The load in my car is constantly under strain

Just to clarify: if you are not in control of your race car you will not be held responsible for any accident ?????

^^^

What we're mostly trying to eliminate is deliberate acts against other drivers. It happened in a prior season we ran, someone lost it in a big way and went on a rampage. cough Dan cough

And yes there's also reasons to give penalties to a driver who carelessly does something that causes damage to another driver. Perhaps that's the area you're questioning.

But incidents are reviewed, there's 2 stewards, and there are options to appeal etc.

Welll said Mic, we all remember that

With acknowledgement to GTP’s OnLine Racing (OLR) Rules & Guidelines here, I’d say the following should be considered Stape.

Drivers are expected to race in a responsible manner at all times to ensure that they will not cause intentional collisions with other vehicles(s). This also means practising an element of patience, common sense and of course respect for fellow racers. 👍

In a circumstance where control of the vehicle is lost, it is expected that drivers will attempt to take all evasive action possible to avoid a potential collision. This might mean steering off track or indeed into walls etc.

Viewed in this light, it should be considered that *drivers ARE responsible for the control of their vehicle at all times.

*There are exceptions of course as we all know. :) Lag glitches, disconnections, equipment failure, multiple collision incidents, sudden change in the grip level of the track due to server instability and so on.

Indeed just to add to Mic's comments... In a situation where racing incident(s) arise, where required, these will be assessed closely by the Stewards to determine levels of responsibility and resultant cautions and/or penalties issued to the party or parties concerned.

Now onto business.

Round 3: Clubman SSR5 Sprint Race - 19th March 2012

Laps:
2 x 18 lap races.

NOTE
Now as per usual rules with Sprint races, all sprint races are held on the race optimal tyre which is the Racing Mediums. Qualifying and race start is on Racing Mediums however drivers have the option to start the race on Hards if they want.

First race will have qualifying run as normal. Race 2 will not have a qualifying session and the grid will be based on previous race results (Example: you finished first in race 1 you will be starting last in race 2).

If you have any questions please ask before race night.

Haven't concidered requiring drivers to start on the rubber they qualify on?

Mediums = Faster time, possible pit stop?

Hards = Slower times, no pit stop?

Another thought-for-the-day, brought to you by Cactass.

Being the studious driver that I am, I've done no practice at all, and have no idea how long the mediums or hards will last at this track, and have probably just asked a question on the level of whether a sunburnt pig would fly faster than a pink pig due to the fact that red is faster. (I think so btw ;) )

Wow still not 100% that's not good.

I had noticed that you'd been missing from the thread. Hope you're feeling better soon.

On another note I saw a doosey of a car crash tonight. Real life car crash that is. Doubt anyone was hurt seriously. As it was a car collision that caused wild spins. Not contact with fixed objects.

What happened was wet roads at night and from what I can tell one car changed lanes (rapidly too from the resulting physics) without checking he was clear of the other car alongside. he basically put himself into a 'pit manoeuvre' at 90ish kph.

I heard the loud clunk and tires screech and turned to see the cars getting badly out of shape on the wet roads.

It looked like the no-rules NASCAR we do for fun.

I wasn't able to watch the full result. But the biggest spinner nearly got a full 360 deg before coming to a stop.

Be careful on the roads people.

Taital, Jazza and myself considered this before this series was announced and ended up ruling out out for this series as it is quite difficult to police. It would mean either taital, Jazza or myself would have to sacrifice our qualifying to watch people and note down all their tyres for the qualifying session.

We may bring it into a new series but not the current one.

An increase in the pain-in-the-ass to implement factor? Yes

Too hard to implement? I don't think so.

Reasoning as follows.

Lap times for CSS5 are in the low 50 seconds area, with a race of 12 laps taking less than 11 minutes, even with 1 pit stop, which I believe the leaders/winner will not take.

The two races will only take 22 minutes, and allowing 8 minutes to reset the grid and start the second race , will mean it's all over in around 30 minutes, instead of the usual 1 hour for the regular events.

With 30 minutes of normal racing time left to spare, the qualifying could be extended to 2 x 20 minute sessions, with the first session open to the option (medium) tyre qualifying. At the end of the session the times set are written down and the room reset with the regular (hard) tyres only allowed, and the field commences their second qualifying session. At the end of the second session, the times are again recorded. The drivers nominate their starting tyre, and the qualifying time for that tyre is used to set their starting position on the grid.

This spare time may not be available at all sprint events, and the procedure i've listed above is only a suggestion for concideration at some time in the future. Don't take my suggestion as a demand or sign of discontent. It's merely a thought I had to add more strategy to the sprints (and perhaps help out the talent disadvantaged drivers like myself ;) )

Oni-chan's Race Stewards in preparation.

Its alot to implement for the drivers in such a short amount of time being race night tomorrow. However as i have done no testing around Clubman and a lap time is sup 50sec then a definite increase of laps will be needed. Therefore..

CHANGES TO SPRINT ROUND

Round 3 - Clubman SSR5

Laps: 2 x 18

My memory might be failing me, but I jumped on GT5 this morning before work to set up a B-Spec race, and the message I got from you Oni said it was 22 laps per race.

Did I remember it wrong and it's actually 18 laps, or is my memory and the PSN message correct and it's over 20 laps?

We changed it from 22 to 18, but you can't unsend a PSN message lol

Stape , not much I can say mate. Sorry your race got ruined , wrong place wrong time hey. Moon was lucky to sneak past me as I bounced around. I know how much time you put into testing through the week and you had a good chance for some decent points in that race. I guess that's why I'm writing this. Not much we can do about it now , but I still feel bad.

Sorry.

No dramas spin me old mate I was always a massive amount off the pace you are one of the most polite drivers I race with THAT was a racing incident

Well despite the race 2 nose to tail like any main access road in Sydney, I believe I had a great night, thankfully mike got damage on his out lap from the pit stop and I had a chance at catching him, it took about 3 laps to finally make a move on him.

Race 2 was going to be fun until the crash, in saying that I love the reverse grid format as I love overtaking cars.

I drove with much gusto in r2 and managed to pull a 50.5 lap which is a good effort in a race.

Everytime I seen someone's name up the road I drive like a demon to catch it, no idea what moon was thinking with the speed I caught him with.

Eventful night but I think it was a good nights racing

Yep I enjoyed last night, Sorry to everyone that got caught up in my mess on the last corner. Was completely my fault, I didn't see stape braking for the car ahead and just simply came in too hot. Sorry for the rear end hit stape, hope you didnt get damage from that, and sorry to taital, Oni, and others who got damage from my stuff up. Thankgod we were right at the pit entry.

Feel more sorry for Cac and oni, oni went in to hot into pit lane and was penalised, he went in 500m ahead of me but ended up 20m behind me haha, and poor cac had a big crash with the pit entry barrier haha.

Ill set up the camera tonight

Last nights races in graphical format.

UPDATE:*nb Look carefully at both graphs! GT5 cocked up the reverse grid layout. I've rechecked both replays and the graphs are correct.

Looks like it's time to throw away that trust MrT, and resort to the line up on the grid system for every race.

Race 1 :)

Race 2 :yuck:

So far i will be videoing numerous angles of the lap 1 crash in R2.

If anyone wants other things recorded please let me know who and what lap/area it was.

Cheers
