Was that just me, or was the leader lagging massively this last race :nervous:? The rest of you seemed fine.

Edit: Sorry to paulie for getting in your way when I was coming back onto the track at degner 2. Thought I was going to be able to get to other side of the track and lett you pass, but I didn't get out of the gravel fast enough :ouch:

What happens when 2 Aussies get bored.:sly:

I think too many n00bs have mis-interpreted the event title and think it means punting is encouraged.:indiff: Seriously, why are the n00bities even entering this event?

Cool, what sort of lap times are you getting out of it so far?

A 2'09 flat in Free Run at the moment. Mid 2'09 to 2'10 at race pace, assuming I'm not in a battle.

Was able to run a 2'08 in the lotus before. It needs much more grip though & i dont know enough about tuning to try & fix that, so im leaving that car for now & trying the evo x instead.

I've only tried two cars in this event so far - Ferrari 599 and Corvette Z06. Both are absolute animals with minimal downforce and mad power on S2s. Great fun and a real challenge but not quick enough to trouble the top drivers in tuned cars. The best I managed with the Corvette was a third place in 11m 3s.

Does anyone know what other RWD non-tuned cars can make the required 650pp? Also would anyone be interested in a specialized event for such cars? I always feel guilty about driving a high power, low downforce car and holding the tuned cars up in the turns.

My initial impression of this event is that while the scrapping of the RBE is a huge leap forward, 650pp is still too high to escape the inevitability of seeing the same old cars. I would have preferred 550 or 600 but as they say, beggars can't be choosers.

Im making mid 2.08s during race with a 2.07,605 as my best this far with my Lotus. Cant wait to have som more racing this evening. Lots of fun this one.
Only problem with this amasing car is the slow start of the race always putting you in 11th or 12th place. However its a lot of fun to make it through the field with this litle "bugger".

Yeah the slow start in this car is really bad. I had to continually pull right over at the start of every race so as not to get hit from behind. Its great in the corners and while it gets flogged a bit on the straights, if someone could post a stable tune for this car so it had a bit more grip, then it'd defiantly be a contender.

I'll also say from racing against Lotuses that battles look hard for you? You get overtaken easily on the straight and can never get close enough again to make a clean pass.

I think a 2'08 in a lotus is by far OK. I use the Evo X in most of the previous events and the only downside it has is its lack of speed on the straights.
With the S3 tyres you have to be more carefull around the turns.
But in a race I managed a best laptime of 2'08, with an average of 2'10 most of the laps.

Well It's not to slow actually. At the start straight it makes 256-9 with no draft. I think the only downside is in the start. Achiving top speed makes the start with its tiny engine suffer - you know.

But I have to say I'm sorry that PD didnt put a 600PP on this one. It would have made more cars compatible in the event. Or what do you think Paulie?

I've been testing just about all the cars you'd think might compete and really it's just the same old GT Concepts and GTR. The NSX feels and looks really fast with a good tune but the lap times don't translate.

Nice screen capture Rusty.... T'was a good few hours racing alot of GTP members. I must apologize to anyone that I may have unintentionally bumped especially in the corners. The Evo X/Tuned is working well for me at the moment, very stable and not much spins.

Tried out a few cars in free run today... 2'08.1's with the R8, California and Evo IX, but fastest for me is the Evo X at 2'07.5. The AWD stuff is just soooooo boring to drive though... just a matter of managing understeer, no real skill involved. The Cali can match the pace, but it requires 100% concentration at all times... not suitable for a few fun races.

Prudent.... agree, the event would have been bettter at 550 or 600pp as it would have made loads more cars eligible.

And I apologise for the time I hit you.

Yes the Evo is very stable, typical of a AWD vehicle, although I don't think it is the fastets Car there, being stalbe means you can push it hard without making mistakes. I think the Car is pretty dependant on a good tune though.:)
Take it easy guys,

Hopped on for a few quick laps last night, made the horrific mistake of taking my Cali tune and dropping the weight and jacking the HP. As TwistyBits can attest my traction was minimal. I did manage to keep it on the track my first race....the whole track, I had the thing all over the road but kept out of the kitty litter. Managed a 2:10:xxx but it was laughable. The EvoX was fun though. Going to try some RWD later with some downforce :)

 I remember that... it was my fault actually... I punted TORC_OldTimer (or something like that) at the hairpin and had to slow down to wait for him. But I parked too far out on the track and sure enough, your white Corvette came right smack on my butt

You could almost hear me "Geeeeet ooouuuut of my waaaaaaAAAAAAYYY AAAHHH!!!!!!

No not really.

Edit: You know guys, I could really do with some reviews on my cars these days. Judging from the views of TLD, nobody uses my tunes any more. This is how we go out of business.:(

Cool you caught one of the races I was using the tuned Z06, I remember that race as the start was almost a crawl as we were all stuck behind the Italian in the GTR :)

I am ecstatic :) i only managed a 6th place but for me it was better than a win, i noticed a GTP driver catch me fast so i pulled over a bit to let him pass but he slowed down with me probably not knowing that i was letting him through?

Said it before and will say it again... should have at least one event with WD type limitations. So for me, albeit this is the best event ever, if it's a "radical" event, for hardcore drivers only, then why not add that in this one?

My idea is Suzuka, no RBE, 600pp, RWD only and I would throw in also S Tires (S1-S3).

This would see more cars like the NSX/350z/RX7/RX8/M3/iSF/etc on the track and make the car options and tunning options immense. No "easy" only S2 AllWinDrive taxis , but a big field of different flavors.

Just a suggestion in case someone runs into "the man"... :sly:

Another could be AWD only on Eiger on N Tires... 💡

I had fun last night taking some non-competitive cars out. Just lapping with the RX-7, RX-8 and DB9 was a real laugh. Tried some laps in the Z06, but an idiot behind me kept pushing my rear end when I got throttle-happy and sideways.
