pc: "The War Z" announced (Day Z standalone clone)

^you know what shows how bad the game is?

I am way more entertained by all the fuzz surrrounding the game than by the game itself...:crazy:

But basicly I lost all hope for a Survival Zombie MMO Game. Wether this or DayZ. DayZ beeing way better but I highly doubt hackers and PVP will not be a problem in either game in the final version.

I will wait for a good Z survival SP, aka State of decay

Reason:

You clearly stated when bought via your website in October that we have a preorder price and thus saving money.

Yet you sell the game for less in Steam. And that even before the final or full release with all features implemented is released. (I'll come back to this point later)

Not to talk about all the features you promised which are still not implemented. The lack of community support, lack of PVE.

And formost, this is not a Zombie Survival MMO. Zombies are not endangering your Survival, food and drinks are not essential as you can heal your negative effects away, and your company seems to be ok with the PVP caracter the game has now stamped all across it, making it a pure FPS with roleplaying caracter and not a survival game. Thus selling your product under a false label.

To come back my first point: This is the worst of all your false advertisment. I feel cheated for supporting your studio since the first hour. First adopters should be rewarded and not slapped in the face.

And the way it seems to go, no improvement is in sight ( You had all november to get PVP at least a bit under control. no action was taken, although half the community asked for it.)


So with all this, you clearly broke European law (which you need to respect if you sell your products here), thus your EULA and TOS, (which were copied from LOL and therefor of no legal use) are deemed voidness, and therefor I demand for an immediat refund.

Play time is not a variable to this anymore, as you products evolves, one need to play more than the "allowed" limit of 25-45 min over weeks to see if promises are met. They are not 2 months after release. A limit in play time would be appliable only on a deemed finished base product, which this is not.

And beware, if I ever get on a blacklist for asking this refund, I will take legal actions!

Well this game might win the award for worst release ever. Steam pulled it from their store and is offering anyone refunds who want them. I've never heard of this happening before with any game.
In all honesty I hoped this game would be awful. It's sad they had to literally steal another free mods idea and try and make money from it before the original makers had time to do so. They could have at least came up with an original name.

Not quite. Remember the game Big Rigs? Apparently, according to Kotaku, the man behind that POS game, Sergey Titov, is also behind this one. This gives a bit more credence to what MeanElf said when he posted that image by saying that they are only going to support the game for six months then halt development unless enough funds come in to continue.

Remember, there are other means outside of STEAM that you can go to to contest any fraudulent charges if you bought the game outside of steam. Often times, you can go to your local bank or credit card company directly and contest the charges, accusing the publisher of fraud if you bought the game online. Also reporting Arktos Entertainment and Hammerpoint Interactive to the Better Business Bureau or other similar organization in your country would also get possibly federal officials involved.

This is not some money grab that you know is coming. This is one of those that spring up on you and will leave you holding the bag.

This is Russia. pretty much is valid for this game.

I wait for them to deport people to Gulaks because they protest against the game...
 
I can't imagine this game lasting much longer with all this bad publicity. Is it server ran or a peer to peer thing? I bet the servers are gone within a few months if it's server based.

Was searching through the big store in Campos City, avoiding zombies on my way in.
Got decent gear, couple mags for various pistols/rifles and some food and water.
On the way out I thought; "i'll just run out and lose the brainz in the woods".

So, on my way, I ran as quickly as I could, across the parking lot and over the wall and into the woods.
Just as I entered the woods, with a couple zeds right behind me, an other person comes running towards me.
I thought "crap, im dead", but no, he had no weapon.
He started following me, and when we got into the forest, I fired of 2 quick shots in his chest.
That spooked him and he took off down to the road again, and the zeds followed him.
Im sure he could not have had more than 10-20% life left.
As I continued to run a bit further into the forest, I turned around.
I then saw him run towards the store with the whole town after him. ;)

As the good sportsman I am, I said "Good luck :D" in the chat. :lol::sly:
 
Whoever buys this game after all what happened needs serious help.

Go and play arma with dayz or wait for the real dayz standalone, which is still in developement (with delay though).

I'm guessing that person was just trying to get some help from you and team up. If everyone plays like you do it's another reason I'm glad I didn't get it.

I wonder if he will seek vengeance and hunt you down in The War Z.
 
Well compared to other players McSoap was really nice. Others shoot you with a saiga 10 shots in the head, then teabag you and insult you in chat

I haven't played since early december. Deinstalled the game, deleted the bookmarks in the browser.

In Russia the game plays with you.

Seriously Russian scam scheme of it's best.

If you want to have a real laugh, go to their forums. It's incredible.

So yeah I am more than done with this, and every "MMO Survival", because mainly the communities are really bad. In this case, the games makes it even more painful.

You can around for 2 hours, find nothing, then out of pure luck find a weapon and get killed 2 sec later (happend 2 times to me, that''s when I was done)

He could've just wanted intel, as you were just in the town. Like to try this game but looks as if I gotta shoot first and ask ? Later lol.
 
From my angle, he was definitely in an attacking position.
He came running straight towards me from the forest. And it was dark so I could barely see him before he was like 5 meters infront of me.

For your information, I bought WarZ on sale when it was first released to the public.

And yes, I am waiting for DayZ standalone, but as the DayZ mod is now, it's unplayable.

Indeed, earlier with an other character, I was just spawning in near one of the heli crashes. Ran around it looking, didn't find nothing.
Exactly 4 seconds after I was leaving the heli, some random person comes shooting out from the woods. Didn't stand a chance. :indiff:

You're not gonna get any intel by running up towards someone. 98% of the players will find themselves attacked when someone comes running straight towards you.
And yes, as with DayZ, most of the time its shoot first, unless you can communicate with the other players.

Yeah, I have followed the game's progress and also Day Z also pretty much from the start. It's one reason why I wasn't interested; ie: the behaviour of most players didn't make it seem like fun.

I just don't think similar behaviour is the answer though - there again, we are all different.
 
Everyone else is jumping off a bridge head first, so I will just do it feet first.

There in lies the problem of PVP in this genre.
