PENALTY SYSTEM IS STILL A PIECE OF ****!!!

And this is why GT is getting a reputation & some people are swearing it off.

Its’s taking too long to fix this BS.

Sony/Polyphony need to really address the situation before the current mentality becomes normal behaviour whatever penalty system is in place.

Well, imo apparently the mayhem driving already is established as standard behaviour in all modes of GT Sport. Since PD dropped penalties around December/January, it seems that the players' motivations are always "shoot first, ask later" or punt first, drive later. People are focused on getting people out of the way instead of keeping pace and overtaking (omg that's racing!). It could be something usual on daily racing as the average player usually races there, but I am spotting this mindset on serious lobbies as well, even from DR S players.

That's so so sooo frustrating. I'll continue playing the game as I already invested a good amount of money with a good tv set and driving gear, but I'm not expecting good races neither to be indulgent with others' behaviour, and I'm not willing to get the next GT title as the community is already broken no matter what penalty system is implanted.

With this no good penalty system, it lets this kind of behavior happen. This was happening in FIA Manufacturer’s Series last night (EST).

Not only did he ruin my race, which I was starting in the back, he was ruining others as well. I was so pissed. I was already at a disadvantage starting so far back.

I managed to stick to the end. His excuse to everyone was to feel his pain of having his race ruined, etc. I don’t know what happened in his other race, but I wasn’t there. Thst was my first and only race (10pm slot).

I did report him, though I doubt anything would be done about it. This will be my first FIA and everything was going good during the preseason, etc.

I wish PD takes these reports seriously. People like that needs to go. If you are that mad on a video game, just turn it off and do something else or go to bed.

Reporting people straight to Sony seems to have more effect, I’d send them that video for sure.

That's absolutely disgusting behaviour. Right from the word go they were just out to ruin as many peoples races as possible. Unfortunately it's an attitude I've seen before of "I had a bad race so I'm going to take it out on as many other people as possible".

According to the GTSport SR system he's SR99 to I guess it's acceptable behaviour these days

With this no good penalty system, it lets this kind of behavior happen.

It's worse than that, it doesn't merely let it happen, it instructs people that it's how they are supposed to play the game. The game defines the rules by the penalty system implementation, so he's just driving by the rules that the game defines. The game says it's absolutely fine to rear end someone off the track etc, so that is what he's doing.

Banning would hardly be good enough for this behavior. If you look at the Kudo stats he didnt reach 99SR until Jan when the penalty system was at its worst. It just shows how broken Polyphony has made the system. Apparently this is the kind of driving Polyphony wants, the only way Polyphony is going fix the penalty system is if people drove like that at the World Tour events, otherwise they will continue to ignore what they dont think is broken.

It also looks like a secondary account which there are way too many of nowadays. From DR D to mid DR B inside a 20 day period and probably had a not caring attitude since it wasn't his main. Pretty sad and isn't exactly helping the current broken penalty system situation.

Looking at his trophies, he’s been playing. Probably just got into online. His trophy went back as far as 2019. He plays other games as well. Maybe that’s his main idk.

Whatever the case I hope he gets whats coming to him. I also tweeted it.

Wow. That’s the most disgusting driving I think I’ve seen in this thread. Just wow.

That was odd. Did something change? I just tried race A (why twilight again, so hard to see during day time) and I got a 1 sec penalty for basically a draft bump. The car in front of me struggled in the twisty bit, I gave him a little push, only beneficial to him and I got a 1 sec penalty for colliding with another car. I've not seen that happen for over a year... Meanwhile all the other door banging and crashing, no penalties. A fluke?

Glad to see that his current B/S rating is the same as McMurphy's. 👍
There's a decent chance that I'll see him at the track. :mischievous:

That is the same rating I got my alt up to. Been in a couple of races with people I saw in that clip. If they try anything it might get ugly. I work to still race my alt clean, just using it in races that would be prone to contact. But that is just disgusting. @Sven Jurgens check out the clip posted on the dailies thread, bumping penalties appeared after nothing for months.

B/S is where I prefer to keep my alt account ratings. The B/S drivers in the dailies are mostly good drivers, and they're not usually the hardcore, win-at-all-costs types, like many of the A people are.

A psychopath in my opinion. Someone very unhappy with own life!

The way this game is meant to be played.

Just watching Rory Alexander (EERIEISSSS) playing iRacing on his stream "iRacing Whilst Gran Turismo Sport Is Broken" made me think. I bet the YouTubers could force PD to fix the penalty system. If every single YouTuber of any significance stopped publishing GTS content, and made it clear in the name of every stream or video that they're playing other games until PD fix the GTS penalty system, I bet some resource would magically become available to sort the mess out.

Cool. Send it and send my regards.

I hear you but I doubt it. If world finalists expressed their concerns about the game to PD and nothing comes out of it, why do you think YouTubers will get them? I’m sure there’s thousands of videos on this and not one thing was changed.

A video complaining about it won't do that much, but an absence of GTS content will. A lot of people buy the console and game because of seeing it played on YouTube. If they see other games being played instead, they'll buy those other games instead of GTS, and might follow their favourite YouTubers to the other games if they already have GTS. World Tour finalists, OTOH, have basically no influence that PD needs to care about. If they stop playing, they'll just invite the fastest remaining x players to the next event.

Super GT and Kie have already started playing other games lately, but both said last week they have zero influence with PD.

I think they meant in the sense that PD don't listen to anything they say. But I'd say that if no major YouTuber was publishing GTS content, but was publishing content for competing games instead, and made it clear this would continue as long as the GTS penalty system is a piece of ****, I think that would influence PD.

Seven seconds. Seven flipping seconds for a light tap to the rear, when the Supra ahead isn't even that badly affected.

This game's multiplayer can shove it.

It wasn't for tapping the car ahead, it was for making contact with the white car that overtook you. If you look at the race positions, the game regarded the white car as having moved ahead of you some time before you got the penalty, but after the contact. How it arrived at 7 seconds for the duration of penalty, I have no idea, but the cause of the penalty was the contact while being overtaken that is causing the majority of penalties with the current system.
