Pikes peak Hill Climb is "probably" returning to Gran Turismo (partnership announced)

Personally I'd prefer the paved version, but weren't those photo's of PD's computers showing a file structure containing photo's of locations taken well prior to PP being paved?

Would be nice if they converted the escudo to premium, assuming that the car still exists and can be modelled. Does anyone know what happened to the escudo? Other than turning into the euro if you're Portuguese :P
Huh? How come it couldn't be modelled anymore? But yeah, GT5 was lacking the detailed interior so it would be nice to know what does Escudo's cockpit look like. And what do you mean by turning into the euro if you're Portuguese?

Escudo was portugeuse unit of currency when GT1 was released, but was replaced by the Euro shortly after..

Oh. I missed so much in elementary and junior high because of very limited teaching. Had 3rd grade books in 6th grade so no wonder I didn't catch the context.

In the credits it says Sebastian Loeb has done some voice work for the game, together with Vettel.
Vettel is used for the X2014 events, but Loeb is nowhere in the game (he was in GT5 though)
Ah, I see. PD were probably just too lazy to rewrite everything in the credits.

GT6 wasn't going to be much of a dirt rally game anyway. We have vintage rally cars and they're pretty much raced against on tarmac. When we first found out about the S1, it was a video at Silverstone.

We're at the mercy of PD. We get what we get.

I'm not really sure how that makes any sense. It'll be there because the game shipped with his voice overs, even though they're not being used. The same was true for Vettel at launch.

Notice there's no course creator credit like there was for GT5, because it's not on the disc.

There's also the small issue of an almost complete absence of rally events, the likes of which hasn't been seen since the first game.

Love to see Pikes Peak, along with more rally tracks, e.g Tahiti Maze has fond memories. Along with a 1/3 tar, 1/3 gravel, 1/3 dirt circuit for a RX events.

Others may not, but I love the feel of rallying in GT6, if a bit violent on the wheel/screen but fun as. Esp up and down Eiger.

But the YouTube one doesn't have the GT banner. See below.

It is on the one embedded above, at least for me; it looks exactly like your first picture, except it's not cropped.

Anyway, the "Gran Turismo" branding seems to be somewhat prominent.

When I play the video posted here, it shows the GT logo, but when I go directly to YouTube I get the one without the logo. Check for yourself. I want to believe, but believing is seeing. I just don't hear the bell ringing on this (polar express reference).

What I see on GTP:

Not sure what's going on with you guys.

Might be different versions at different qualities? Different servers? Perhaps they uploaded the wrong one, and the replacement is still percolating.

You are not going crazy. Here is the same video that is on the Pikes Peak home page without the logo:

It means they are different uploads:

Different versions at different qualities isn't something that ever happens.
When you upload a video, the low quality versions are available first. The high quality ones take longer to process.
The same would apply to direct replacements of existing videos, in the form of a "re-upload".

Don't forget that Youtube is effectively a distributed service. Once you upload a video, it has to be distributed around to a load of different (physical) servers depending on expected demand, or in response to increased demand. Obviously the whole thing is virtualised and fairly transparent now, but in YouTube's past, that compartmentalisation was more obvious in that unpopular videos were relegated to low bandwidth servers.

If I'm right, it shouldn't be very long at all before there is only one version available at a given address.

EDIT: although it seems much more likely that @GT5 Level 41 was simply watching a different video, too.
