A cool new feature that I haven't seen reported or talked about it update history or patch notes for games. When the game is highlighted in the menu press options and then update history and you will see patch notes. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to list the update version with the notes but good to know after a generation of patches and not always knowing what they did.

Edit: it seems it's up to the developers as Killzone does list 1.01, 1.02, 1.03 etc and the note for each update.
That's a neat feature. I always check the App Store latest version and previous version updates prior to any purchases.

Be nice if the PSN store did the same for digital downloads.

As far as I can tell you can't check version number or notes from the store.

1 million sales in 24 hours? Not bad.

Sony is aiming to sell 5 million by March, and with all territories combined, I wonder if it will happen sooner than later.

A cool thing a friend figured out is that by clicking down your right stick while typing in the ps4 you can use the motion controls of the controller to type like you do on the wii. A guy at gamestop told me after we figured it out you needed the camera to do it but you don't. None of us have the camera.

The best way to type though is to just use your phone as a second screen then you can just use your phone keyboard instead.

I also just found it saves error codes under settings/system/error history. Not a big feature but convienent.

The What's New, recent activities and other social features work about 50% of the time if even that for me. Is it like this for everyone? Server issues?

I'm glad I am holding off for 6 months or so. Obviously the minority will always be vocal, while the majority play their games, but there does seem a bit of a common theme with these faults. PS4 doesn't work, just strip it down, pull the hard drive and rebuild it, it's like having a PC.

It's actually working better than you would think for a launch console. Except for the EA games everything is pretty good. I made a list of what 5 of us have encountered so far a little earlier in this thread. Seems pretty minor to me.

Isn't that their own troubleshooting guide though? Seems to me they're on the case.

Yes but it is sloppy for quite a few units to be dead out of the box, it seems launch console batches are always rushed and production line / quality control goes slightly off to meet the initial shipment. All this stuff will eventually be ironed out but its a shame its a common theme with electronics today.

Does anyone know the numbers for faulty consoles? Last I heard it was .4%
Or are you just assuming its a bunch?
I don't think any gtp guys have a faulty one yet do we?

As @sems4arsenal told you, where we live we don't have high speed internet, so if I'm playing online I don't want to be downloading anything. And 20gb games take a lot of time here
I got you. Yeah, I haven't seen the option but I'm discovering new things every time I use it. I guess you will have to start the download when you are about to put it in standby mode for the night or something. Maybe it will get patched in.

That number was said by Sony in relation to what they expect up to march 2014 on/just after launch day. They won't have real numbers that quickly.

Sony reported pre-launch PS4s had a hard drive failure rate of 1%.

Well my ps4 arrived a day late. Everything works perfectly. I'm even impressed with bf4. The controller is great and so is the UI. *goes back to playing bf4*

Unless they intentionally manufactured .4% of the consoles to be faulty. You know what they say... any press is good press.

/conspiracytheory

Xbox One failures will be even grater than PS4. So there is nothing to be alarmed. Every game console had it own problems after launch day.

It was actually 0.04% - I have just finished reading an article (below) that states there are something like 2,600 one star reviews, due to the flashing blue line - well, 26% of that...

That number is under 0.04% of the one million plus units sold: http://www.polygon.com/2013/11/18/5...issues-blue-light-red-light-of-death-ejection

So whilst it might seems like a lot, seems the numbers so far are under that faliure rate.
