No sweat - I've only had the place a few hours and it's a mess already
Somewhere along the line we'll both be free. :)

I'm tempted to throw down for the Ghostbusters Firehall Set. Haven't decided yet.

That test does look quite old though - just under 2 months to be precise. I'm not 100% sure if that's considered old, but whatever.

Shouldnt have changed over the time.

Here, ill try again.

Wow, its actually a tiny bit faster but still remains rubbish.

So if I log into my UK account, can you invite me to them for a tour? I imagine I'll have to download them before I can enter. Anyway, if you're up for it sometime, send me an invite. I can show you my US based hella boring Harbor Studio and Chamber apartment, both complete with Ghostbusters ornaments! :D

As far as I can tell, it only comes with a Sofa and a corner sofa, available to buy in the Home store... no freebies though :indiff:

I'll be on Home shortly, I'll add your UK account to my PSN list and send you an invite :)

You guys know you don't have to be on any specific version to visit a personal space? Any NTSC user can go to any PAL user's personal spaces.

I also bought the Penthouse and don't like it that much, the dim lighting and constant sound of tooting horns is rather depressing. It needs music and better lights.

Anyone else purchase the Ghostbusters fire house? Has some cool camera and filming props that come with it. Oh, and a T.V....... and some food.....which I already placed in my other locations. :D

It's awesome. Merely the fact that you can sit on the toilet makes it worth it. The car is addictively fun...

I know about the car, but you can sit on the toilet!?!?!

*Goes to fire up PS3*

Edit: you can play as that green ghost if you go into the basement. :)

I think there's a reason that they have you start out on the third floor - so you're close to the toilet.

And that "green ghost" would be Slimer. ;)

Now I just need someone over to try out the camera...

Sorry, movie is older than I.
And? I can quote It's a Wonderful Life and Casablanca, not because I am (that) old but because I fully appreciate a good classic.

Wait, are you also too young to have seen the cartoon? Checks profile

MOTHER PUS BUCKET, I'm old.

EDIT:

TB, mind if later on this week I check out your space to see if I also want it?

I've seen the movie maybe two or three times that I can remember since it came out. Last time was many years ago. I'm not good at quoting many movies.

Never seen the cartoon.

I went and saw my American friends house/apartment in home. Im not sure whether he said it was infamous or something but it had some fires which when you step on a stone, turn into ponds. It looked somewhat harry potter like, pretty nice house overall.

Code works just fine. Put it in at the XMB and you'll get these in home:

Didn't realize the last one was so blurry, but you get the point. I'm too lazy to go back down and take a new picture. :P

Nooo, I worked hard at christmas time to get those machines via the namco beta thing. Now tonnes of people will have it :(.

Not unless they work equally as hard at the Namco beta. The code was for the fish hats.

Ohhhh my bad, I thought you meant putting in the code meant you get the machines. I didnt see the hat...

Just thought I'd give a little update to whats been going on in the PAL version of Home recently.
EA have added their golf game, however as of yet it only has 1 practice hole. They've also changed the racing game slightly, now you race and earn points which you can use to buy boosts for future races, or save up and buy a lot of them and do a very fast time. It also now uses Vodafone sponsored London cabs for the race, something to do with a competition which i know nothing about yet. The poker is largely unchanged since the updated to ranked tables.

An Infamous space has been added, which also has quite a good little basic arcade shooter type thing, worth a go, and also an odd telephone box, which might make more sence to those with the game.

A new SOCOM space has also been added. It appears to have a strategy game in it however I couldnt connect to an available server to play it so someone else can check that out and lets us know.

Other than that not much.

Add me if you use Home a lot, because I like the friends leader boards, but because most/all my friends list dont use Home its kind of pointless for me right now.

I decided to check out Home after a long time today. Nothing much has changed except EA Sports have split their space into 4 or 5 separate ones, not that I ever got to check them out, because I downloaded one and it reached 100% but never acknowledged it then it froze shortly after. They REALLY need to fix how efficiently Home operates, it started out OK in the beginning but now it's an error ridden bug laden glitch plagued crapsville.

Oh, and I seen the Throne Room apartment is now available, but it's worth over $8, totally not worth it. I could have sworn it was going to be free.:odd:

A small update to PS Home today. Fat Princess space, Motorstorm place etc.
Heres the link.

Also a big promotion for the GI Joe movie is starting in Home, similar to the Transformers one but with costumes as well.

Sounds like there will be a large PSN update on the 18th like some rumors are suggesting. I think I'm now looking forward to Gamescom much more than I was E3. And its a European event, so everything is relevant. :)
The thing I would like most is a proper release of PSN credits from stores. The lack of this is the last ridiculously simple thing that the PS3 is lacking.

My Hong Kong account got this message. Anybody know what this new service is or read anything about it?

Yup, I got the same email, basically I see it as a cover up because they know the reliability of the consoles are coming into question so they are sliding a extra 90 days into any 'in warranty' consoles to cover themseleves.

It would have been great for me but my warranty expired like a year ago.

Robin.

I went on Home the other day, it is such a pile of garbage nowadays. There's very little fun to do any more, especially since none of the games ever work, or always cause your console to freeze up. You can barely do anything in Home without it freezing.

Odd. It runs smoother than ever for me.

I still find it to be a bit boring though. But I am not a social networking kind of guy.

I haven't been on Home in a long time and I used to go on quite a bit. That probably says how disappointed I am with how Home has ( hasn't ) progressed. On the subject of how it runs, when I used to go on I got a mixture of both, sometimes it was running really laggy and yet sometimes it was fine. I don't like how Home has so many micro-transactions, it seems Sony are using it to make money and not developing it in other ways. Home has some great potential, I just worry it will never live upto it.

I'm hoping that Home will step up a gear soon, specifically in the game launching stakes. Obviously, it has taken some time to get Home up at all, and it will take even more time for game developers to start exploiting/using Home, and I'm hoping that GT5 might lead the way on this, being a PS3 flagship title and all, but I won't hold my breath on that one!

As for Home as it stands - I've only had problems in a few areas, but the Buzz area is unusable for me. It hangs every few seconds, but atleast it doesn't crash the PS3. Home used to hang if I pressed the PS button to return to the PS3 XMB, and required switching the console off at the switch to rectify, which was majorly annoying, but that hasn't happened for a while (probably because I haven't done it for a while!!). As for the 'social' aspect of Home - that has failed miserably for me. I rarely see anyone I know using Home, and it simply doesn't work as a 'networking' site (not that it is supposed to, but still).

Home is still a great concept, but it's still a long way off being useful at the moment - until Home becomes a part of the gaming experience for many users, it will lack it's main raison d'être.
