Pokémon Games Discussion Thread (Gotta Discuss 'Em All!)

I tried to make my Playtime as long as possible without bothering to complete the Pokedex (I never do). I visited previous areas over and over to discover new thing and even had to deal woth grinds due to a Non-EXP. Share run.

However there is a Post-Game story involving the UB to keep you interested

It is a 300 Pokedex, so you probably will have plenty of time to catch all the available Pokemon. Unlike me, who just seddled with these 6 and ignored everything else:

Solgeleo
Kommo-o
Primarina
Arcanine
Sandslash
Lycanroc

Didn't even bother with the Zygarde pieces so you can also do that.
What's your current play-time?

After completing the Post-Game quest, you get 1,000,000 dollars.

Where's that Cerulean City Bike Shop, I actually want to buy the Bike for once.

About a thousand miles across the ocean.

You really should try to get all of the cells - I suspect Zygarde 100% is powerful.

Simply not a fan and I never like Pokemon just because they're Powerful, I won't be using Zygarde any time soon, he isn't going to be on any of my teams, it would just be locked away in my PC.

Turns out Solrock/Lunatone actually have an important role in this creepy side quest:

and because of this I only now just realized that Solgaleo and Lunala have similar names to Solrock and Lunatone.

I'm curious: What is everyone's favorite Gen 7 pokemon?

Mine has been Pyukumuku since he was revealed. Today, i finally got the chance to catch one, since i have been excited to use him on my team but upon researching what moves he learns, he gets nothing damaging. He only gets Pain Split, Counter and Bide the rest are all setup/status moves. So after using him for a few battles i realized he'd probably be a nightmare to use through the game and replaced him with Wimpod or Dewpider (Haven't decided yet). Still absolutely love him though, just a little bummed with the move set.

First you complained about IV Training and now calling people names for how they play Pokemon?

Are you secretly Verlisify or does he have a secret twin ?

nah I just plan to stomp that scrub off the face of the earth with my epic team in the works.

He's more of a defensive Pokemon used to take hits and twist and turn a battle.

Yeah i noticed he's pretty bulky. I used him in the Fire trial with Confide to lower the totem Sp.Atk since it kept destroying my team and Pyukumuku just took the hits.

I don't have the game, but by the looks of Pyukumuku, Insides Out gives it an ability to bounce back against setup fiends, and Life Orbers... useful if you find the rest of your team is at risk of being swept by a particular pokémon.

That is true and against buffed Pokemon, it could do wonders thought I don't think the stats supports Innards Out well, it's usable in casual play and can mess a lot of Pokemon up in situation but it isn't much of a threat, If it has Chansey like HP and extremely low Defences stats, it could take almost the entire Pokemon roster down with it.

It's hidden ability, Unaware is a far better ability to compliment its stats.

Innards Out is really hindered by those two massive defence stats... You could use 0 IVs but overall but then it literally just becomes fodder to shift the tide in a gimmicky way.

Pyukumuku was definitely designed in mind to go down the route of shutting down by either taking out a buffed threat completely using one ability or by ignoring its buffed effects using the other. Even with Innards Out, you can still wall one side of the spectrum hard in order to bait the other into removing you at a cost. Keep in mind; regardless of complimentary stats to Unaware, there looks to be HEEEEEAVY hitters and SOLID walls in gen 7.

Fletchling was only the ever Route 1 Pokemon I ever liked, that's why I usually only have 1 Pokemon at all throughout the game without catching anything until Route 3 or 4.

Oh yeah I forgot about fletchling. I still didn't use it on my first team though.

I'm trying to think of a Route 1 Pokémon I loved other than Fletchling. I think Tailow got my vote, and the Starly that became my end-game Staraptor on Pearl.

Loved my Fletchling though, coz it tanked a Thudershock from that one girl trainer's Pikachu at Lv6 with 3/4 HP left. Good ol' Scorch...

Kinda wished there was more Version exclusive content, Sun/Moon has probably the least amount of differences per version in a long time. Makes the whole Dual Version system now relatively useless.

There are far less Version exclusives than in any Pokemon game despite a 300 Pokedex with 15 each (except Gen I and III but that's due to a very small Pokedex and little Post-Game (Gen I had 11 in half the size)). There are more Gen V Pokemon that are version exclusive (6) than there are new Pokemon (5). With only 2 each from Gen I and IV.

Except for the 2 Kalos people battles being swapped between versions and Moon having a reverse Clock, there's no real differences in the game either. If there was more version exclusive Totem Pokemon (like a Totem Tsarena for Moon and Totam Lurantis for Sun) and different areas or trainers (like in Gen V) then it wouldn't seem like a waste to make 2 different versions.

- In case people are wondering, Sun and Moon has no National Pokedex, that's instead coming to Pokemon Bank in the next update, so there is no Post-Game exclusives unlike in Gen IV and V.

I'm so dang close to getting the complete EV removal Festival Plaza.

I just got the 4 Star Friendship Palour but it doesn't remove all the EVs completely (I think more than half) and its missing Speed.

I don't need anything else except the 5 Star Friendshio Palour.
