Pokémon Games Discussion Thread (Gotta Discuss 'Em All!)

Alolan Sandslash is naturally physically tanky with 120 Base. Gave it an Assault Vest to up its Sp. Def and Light Screen would've taken it further.

Knows: Icicle Spear, Leech Life, Iron Head and Shadow Claw.
So it could survive any attack that's not Fire or Fighting
Interesting... Decidueye had Low Sweep, Roost, Spirit Shackle and Leaf Blade. I definitely could have survived one of those attacks with him considering the investments I had, and Low Sweep would have been pretty decent hitting in response. Not too sure on Icicle Spear though, would be close...

Considering I only had very poor items to go off of I think my team went okay. Vikavolt needed an Assault Vest really... but don't have one at this time. Lefties aren't on any of my guys and I think my Shell Bell would have been better on someone else other than Talonflame.

Now I'm planning to set up a team that's kinda similar but running a couple other mons and a few different Nature and EV spreads.

I definitely want to keep Decidueye and do some testing on what sets I can use to make the best use of it. Generic offensive sets are likely the staple and most consistent for the Archer Owl, but I really want to explore the avenues with Decidueye...

Expect Ninetales to crop up too.

But not a 4x.

Relevant:

That's why I said Sandslash could've survive anything that wasn't Fighting and Fire .

As for a battle, I'm willing to do another Single Battle, would be interesting to see what we do without our in-game teams for singles :P

Anyone playing Pokemon Prism? I'm about 20 minutes in so far and I'm really liking it. Gen 2 is probably my favorite (can't decide between Gen 1 or 2) so I particularly enjoy the way the game looks.

What do you guys think about a return of the Pokemon Chronicles series?

I liked it as it took us away from Ash and focused on every other character that are usually forgotten or even new character.

I would really like to see it return, and see what characters like Misty, May, Dawn, Cassidy, Butch and even Paul are up to.

I liked it quite a lot, and it always felt to me as if the series itself was trying to step away from the overly kid-friendly vibe the main series offered. A little more grown up, but not quite being for adults so to speak.

I defintiely liked how other characters got the limelight, although I missed years and years of the series and only saw snippets of the characters in each season. Paul, Dawn, Ritchie, Brock and even just some other goings on that involve the Gym Leaders or Elite 4 to flesh out their character and see them in action; much like how actively various Champions and such crop up through the main series.

I'm pretty terrible at these games because I don't build teams to make the strongest, but rather the ones that I personally like, hah.

Hey I do to, I don't even go for IVs or Natures. However you can still EV Train, it is a lot easier ever since Gen VI and you can reset your old Pokemom EVs.

Speaking of old Pokemon, I wonder how the Gen I Transfer is going to work since IVs in Gen I was out of 15, and HP didn't have IVs and was determined by your other stats and Special Defense was never a thing in Gen I

Was there Gen II to Gen III transferring back in the day? That might give clues...

They may even just generate perfect IVs and a random nature...

Currently hunting for a shiny Bounsweet which will be my first find in Sun and Moon.

The good thing is that it doesn't have a day/night spawn cycle so I can basically hunt it at any time of day. Spent 4 hours so far tracking it down but no joy as of yet...

Mostly been waiting for the update.

Still bumbed about the fact that Sun/Moon only has around 20 Megas, since they made others unobtainable for some reason.

What makes that about 150% worse is that Beedrill, something that desperately needed a buff, practically lost its mega.
