Pokémon GO: Catch 'Em All in the Real World

They were not kidding that it's extremely hard to hold a gym. I had 2 in one and then within minutes their out.

A lot of people are suggesting to put pokecoins in the pool at stops since it's like hard to impossible to hold a gym longer than a few hours.

To be honest there is no point to gyms apart from the bonus of 10, because I levelled insanely quick from the get go I was able to hold over 20 gyms at one point and some for over 2 days, but you quickly realise you can't defend it no matter how high level you are if your being attacked by 2 or 3 plus people at once I just stopped all together.

Best plan Imo is just level up by catching loads of weak Pokemon and using lucky egg to evolve them.

As of current I have not encounted a gym I can't beat by myself anyway, so aslong as you keep your Lvl growing you will have no trouble for when the game adds more to gyms and the like.

They just released an update which supposedly addresses the security issue with Google accounts, so rest easy folk... No burner account necessary. Though my Google account might as well be a burner since I don't use it for anything important.

Also fixes crashes and being logged out when servers.

Hopefully it fixes the issue I've been experiencing on my iPhone 6S where after being in battery saver mode for a little while, the game stops responding to touchscreen inputs (but otherwise appears to be running normally).

I am guessing that update is on iOS since that is where all the problems are/were.

Just wish I could find more non grass ones.
Shouldn't be too hard to find a water one in the land of over 10K lakes. :P

What the hell. Are you spending money on this, or do you just not have a car?

And what the heck kind of battery life...
Well car lol

Plus everyone in my suburb plays this game so I just need to sit my car in the park and I can position it between 4 poke stops all with lures on it as there is about 20 plus others doing the same lol.

You must not want to catch 'em all then. :P

Shinies are rare and hard to get. It's the thrill of the hunt, and since they're different (it's more than a slight difference, btw...Shiny Ninetales for example is light blue when the normal one is tan/orange) from normal Pokemon they're worth it to catch even though they don't have a separate dex entry. I mean, who wouldn't turn down the opportunity for a red Gyarados???

Plus when you've already beaten everything in the game and caught all the normal Pokemon, finding Shinies gives you something challenging to do.

If Pokemon Go had Shinies it would be awesome, though I feel like if they do add them you'll have to pay for them.

Catch em all means to complete the dex, not to catch what would be the equivalent of an albino crocodile in the real world. Shiny pokemon add no value and I get the same thrill by going after Hidden Ability pokemon that actually have something of value their normal ability counterparts don't.

Fact Pikachu is attracted to Opel's due to the symbol

I walked to the grocery store at 10:30pm looking for a nearby Poliwrath. Well, I walked about a click in the opposite direction, then saw that he was getting further away, so I went back and carried on another few kms to the store. Poliwrath was nowhere to be found-- probably due south instead-- but I did notice a bulbasaur on my radar. It led me to the dairy section, where I smelled the half & half...

... and, of course, bulbasaur pops up right there. Thing is, it was LEVEL 238. I threw a pokeball at it and he swatted it away. Like an idiot, I tried again and he popped out. One more time, and he freaking ran away. I'm so stupid. I had tons of raspberries but I didn't even think to use them. That's pokehubris for you. I missed out on an 800+ Venusaur.

Anyone played Ingress which is an iOS/Android game by same developer? Ingress has slightly different task but the mechanics and location data are what made a basis for Pokemon GO.

One of my favorite YouTubers posted a vlog today which was supposed to be about their trip via the train to some town for wine tasting. At one point I was laughing so hard because they were all a little tipsy, walking around some random town, collecting Pokemon. That wasn't the only channel I'm subscribed to where it popped up either.

This game is everywhere.

It was a joke, but ok.

I don't find any value in searching for Hidden Ability Pokemon. Shinies may not have any value to you, but that doesn't mean they don't have any value for anyone.

I played it for a bit when it first came out. I thought it was pretty cool, but I got bored with it quickly.

So there's actually people going into the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C, and into the Auschwitz memorial in Poland, looking for pokeman? Wtf is wrong with people!!!?? :banghead:

I'm sure it's a great game and all, but apparently you don't need any common sense to play it:

Holocaust Museum, Auschwitz want Pokémon Go hunts out

Never said they didn't just because I myself wouldn't want to see them in the game. Not sure how you got that from my quote.

Shinies will probably come after they put the rest of the Pokemon generations in the game, apparently they will add some new gen ones soon.
Sweet. I wonder what they'll do with the legendaries. Them being just rare might be okay, but I guess Niantic could just as well do something like special events or whatever.

As for shinies, they'll be a meaningful asset once trading has been implement. They might mean nothing to me, but hey, as with alternative art / holographic cards in TCGs, someone's gonna give me more for that than for the "ordninary" version

Android version just got updated.
Doesn't say anything on what it is unless it's the app permission error thing.

Lost a gym battle today, my phone was partially to blame (1GB RAM). On the bright side, I went to a few Pokestops and managed to get a few items. I got four eggs: two 2KM ones and two 5KM ones.

Those are nothing, it's the 10KM ones that are annoying.
I got 2 of them and lucky I got 2 hatching things to where I can do both at once. so I only have to do 6.5 miles

Can't... it picks up if you are moving at a certain speed that indicates you are in a vehicle and does not count it.
I can.

For the gameplay itself, the Pokestop are easy to pick with even when moving on low to medium speed. But the Pokemon will cancel the encounter if said Pokemon goes outside the circle around the player. In other words tap the Pokemon as early as you can.

Though GPS lag may play the part.
