The only thing confusing to me is all this nitpick crap some of you guys like to use.
I'll take that as an admission of being wrong.

I see no one cares to address my question about our resident social dems for instance, when you filed your taxes did you donate your return back to the government?
What return? I never see enough to buy me food for a week.

That's you alright.

weeeeeeeee :D

Are you telling me that you pay federal income tax? If so than good for you, if not why wouldn't you give at the end of the year? You know, pay your fair share and all that jazz.

Then you make enough money not to be crying about it don't you, something in the neighborhood of 55k a year?

https://dmarron.com/2011/07/27/why-do-half-of-americans-pay-no-federal-income-tax/
http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/publications/why-some-tax-units-pay-no-income-tax

Sorry they are from 2011 but it was the best I could do before you clowns come in demanding I back up yet another claim. I always back what I say up btw, and if you don't see it and ask for it I'm always happy to provide you things such as these links above.

👍

Less than $30k after taxes. I also live on my own and pay for everything. And where have I cried about it? More assumptions?

So no, you probably definitely do not pay federal income tax, in fact I'd venture a guess they pay you, but I really don't want to be personal, I'm trying to get you to understand something important.

And that would be?

Once again, no assumption coming from me, I said if you paid federal tax than you must be well off. I speak English no matter how hard you try to twist my words.

Getting so old

Money is taken from me in the form of taxes every paycheck. So yes, I do pay income tax. Unless that $10k just magically disappears for no reason.
Getting so old
Like you?

Read those links did ya? lol

You either do not understand the tax code, or what federal tax is, or you wish to gain from others hard labor.

Sure they take out money every check, then they give it back to you. Of course you pay social Security and Medicare, I can't remember what if any your state tax rate is however. making the amount you say you are making you should not be paying the fed anything.

I have no reason to doubt you if you say you payed 10k as federal income I guess I'm going to have to go with it. If you look closely at your return you should be able to see the exact number that goes directly to the federal government as income tax.

The $10k is fed/state taxes, medicare, social security, health insurance. Even then, I don't take enough out to see a refund.

Anyway I'm going to finish my beer and ponder my insignificant life some more before passing out, so let's get this thread back on topic shall we?

Sure, it is part of the topic though, and just so you know at most your federal taxable income would fall around 10k, that means you probably fall into a maybe %25 bracket, so some maths says 2.5k? payed to the fed? something like that anyway, I was generic on purpose ;)

My point of the whole matter is why Bernie's plan from his webpage will not work, hell we can't even keep social security afloat. Do you ever ponder how crazy student loan payments have become? Yet somehow he's gonna give that to all kids.

Speaking of his school plan, I wonder just how many college grads actually get good jobs in their field of study as it is, why should we flood the market and waste all that effort educating kids for non existent jobs? Just a thought, the types of changes he is calling for are forced changes that do not take into account our economical status and what sort of industry etc we are in at the moment.

Ponder that :D And no, I'm not being a smart alic and no I'm not nearly as angry or mean or a jerk or whatever the flavor of the month is.

Mark my words @Turbotwin01 he will not make it past the DNC.

Oh so you are from the future? What are some winning lottery numbers?

Don't count your chickens until they hatch. There is no such thing as a sure thing.

Let me go somewhere you guys will call left field and of no value, bare with me a moment. First off Canada wouldn't be squat without the U.S., Second off remind me who the integral country was who won WWII, third off, let me know who keeps the world markets afloat, fourth off tell me all about innovation in fields such as medicine, 5th off, I could go all day long. MURICA for the win :P

1. Wow really? Tell me something I don't know. Don't kid yourself we could live without you if it really came down too it. We are better off with you for now but we will see how long that lasts if Trump gets in and decides Canadians are somehow a problem.

2. Oh ok, you if you really want to get into this...

- If we didn't have nationalist morons like you it wouldn't have happened in the first place.

- In both the first and second world war you joined later on, keeping you out of most of the bloodbath. It is pretty easy to jump in the pool when everyone else was pushed into it.

- We had our own beach on D-Day named Juno, we liberated the Netherlands and we had a massive failure at Dieppe before the Americans even dipped their toes into the war. Tell me again how Canada and other allies that are not the United States were just useless side kicks?

3. China

4. That is funny, lots of Canadians who innovate in such fields and now live in the U.S because it brings more money. That seems to be our main export to you.

5. I know you can go on and on, why else is there basically a new page every hour or two?

So boring it is to simply see butt hurt folks that don't even live in the U.S. complain about my harsh words regarding Bernie. This is just how simple it is and I have no idea why I need to repeat it over and over, we are a constitutional republic, not any sort of democracy as much as you wish it would be different.

Are we not allowed to have an opinion on the matter? If it is just "how it is" then you already have lost in the world and if everyone in the U.S thought that way then the country wouldn't be such the innovator and super power that it is supposed to be.

Get over it, if you guys thought about it a second you would realize my candidate is a much better choice but you won't for whatever reason. You guys had a very good chance with Kucinich if you wanted some of your welfare stuff to take hold but for some reason,.. was it Obama? Whatever it was we are just seeing one neocon after the other from either side of the isle.

Clearly he is too you but that isn't the case for everyone else nescisarily.

I can't wait to see all the rips at this post

You asked for it, and I gave it too you. This a discussion forum not a "post your opinion which is always right and should never be questioned" forum. You are supposed to have your opinion picked at.

Nothing could be further from the truth, I do not hate him at all, I hate the idea of him in office, huge difference. And I am right btw, show my any mainstream news article within the past week that doesn't agree with me. Then do the math and if that is not enough try to learn how the DNC works 👍

So you don't hate him but you do hate him? If you hate his view on things you basically hate the man because a polatician is supposed to be liked or disliked because of the views he has. Unless you like his hair or something.

By your logic Hillary should have won the primary over Obama 8 years ago lol.

I read something about that somewhere and it was a close race between them but they were questioning the legitamacy of certain states primarys/caucuses/whatever outdated system you are using because "thats how it is", and if you excluded those I think Obama pulled out ahead. Don't know that for sure but I think thats what happened so feel free to say otherwise.

Also sorry for quoting a post so many pages back, but the amount you like posting stuff to "get ripped apart" is quite substantial.

He is right guys. Barring a truly massive scandal it's incredibly unrealistic for Sanders to be the Democrat nominee. To pass Clinton, he needs to take a 57-43 split the rest of the way. Doesn't sound like a lot until you realize that means winning the rest of the delegates by a 14% margin.

*cough* emails *cough*

I actually don't get why everyone lost interest in all the deleted emails.

So much shade in this thread the last few days, I thought we were in a eclipse...

If we didn't have nationalist morons like you it wouldn't have happened in the first place.

I was willing to read your counter points up until that point. Now I'm to blame for WWII?

What I was trying to get across is all the things that make our country great, taking those things away is not going to help us fix our weaknesses. If anything we need to head the other way. Go back and read what I had to say about ssi and the quotes from FDR.

I would say a Bernie supporter has a few choices; I would not vote for Hillary either, I surely would not vote for whomever the RNC comes up with, that leaves the option of writing Bernie in(let your conscience be your guide), don't vote at all(weak in my eyes), or Johnson(the reason I keep bringing it up in response to Bernie is they are not far off on much other than welfare) You guys could go back to that silly graph as someone pointed out, try to pick were Bernie lands and then where Gary lands ;)

No one cares to address my thoughts on college for everyone? Interesting.

I said nationalist ideas caused it, and you seem to have nationalist ideas since you think America is great and amazing and the best, no? Don't twist my words.

What I was trying to get across is all the things that make our country great, taking those things away is not going to help us fix our weaknesses. If anything we need to head the other way. Go back and read what I had to say about ssi and the quotes from FDR.

Politics is never giving OR taking, it is giving AND taking. It is a series of trade offs, just like everything else. Unless they are takikg more money and just stuffing it in their pocket, which is a story for another day.

Also why would I go back and read what you have to say from many pages ago when you wont respond or read what I said 4 posts ago?

No one cares to address my thoughts on college for everyone? Interesting.

Why would we address your thoughts when you won't address ours? (or atleast mine)

I read your post, I responded to some of it.

I see a joke is still beyond comprehension lol, I know what you meant about nationalism however as you stated, the U.S. did not start the war, we finished it.

It's not a story for another day, you wish to see my country regress to some 1800 socialism bs, I wish to see my country regress to some 1776 non bs capitalism. Of course both would fail on their own merit alone so let me rephrase, go back to our constitution. Give and take sure, within that documents boundaries. Socialism goes against the vary nature of our law.

I have addressed yours though, not my fault if you don't see it.

@squadops

About the ww2, without usa the german army would not be able to fight in the first place.
And how did you personally finish it? It has nothing to do with you, do not take other peoples credit. The people during that time finished it by dropping freaking A-bombs at civilians in Japan. In Europe it was actually a combined effort and the real force that did conquer the German powers where actually Russian and British forces, so that is that.

Me? did I say that? I'm pretty sure I said the U.S. I know the history, I also know the appreciation the U.S. has been given by said countries. You are saying the U.S. tech enabled the nazi in the first place? I don't know if that is true or not but I do know the U.S. tech was able to stop them.

It's not a dick waving contest mind you, what I was saying for the second time; there are things the U.S. is good at, it's what we spend our money and resources on, much of the world benefits from it, that is what I was saying. The reasons we've been able to excel in some areas is a direct result of our freedom.

Some of you seem to want to see that freedom removed and I have to wonder why? Who do you think the UN or NATO or any other of a dozen entities run to? hmmm

BTW I found it quite amusing you saying your best medical scientists moved to the U.S. for better pay  That is only 1/2 the story, we have many more resources, why? You guessed it, freedom from socialist bs.

@squadops, your posts do give the aura of like it is a pissing contest.

Good at trying to police the world by spreading terror and fear, you mean? Destabilize one zone in the world and use that as an excuse to infringe on your own citizens so called freedom. That is what Usa is good at spending money on. Like many here have said and tried to get you to understand that stopping this foolish ultra capitalistic behaviour, ie exploitation of normal working citizens that Big companies are guilty of, is a bad thing? How does it take away your freedom if someone like Bernie was elected.

The thing is, your posts sound more and more like you do not want any rules in a society at all. You want a anarchistic society when people take their freedom for themselves with their own hands. In my eyes your utopia is as follow: I am(you squadops) walking here and this old geezer think he can walk that slow in front of me? Who does he think he is taking away my freedom like this? He looks poor, probably does not even pay for walking on the side walk, better push him out in the mud where he belongs. Fricking freedom stealer.

This is how you have portrayed yourself in my mind, all because you are afraid of a old man that is using the word socialist when he is describing himself as socialist democrat. It does even not mean/equals in this case to what you think. Do you even think USA would allow a pure communist/socialist or anything like that to get to power?

Well I cannot expect you to go back through all sorts of threads to see my stance on our silly interventions to protect our best interests, I can assure you however that I do not agree with them however, once your thumb is in the pie you can't very well just pull it out. It has to be a gradual process over time. You are speaking more of libertarian views, something I am not because that requires too much personal responsibility(I prefer to put faith in a responsible leadership which we have not had in quite some time)The best I can do for you is something I've posted many times and it expresses my true intent as far as foreign relations goes...

It also touches on how I feel our country should be ran.

About to enter, fellow-citizens, on the exercise of duties which comprehend everything dear and valuable to you, it is proper you should understand what I deem the essential principles of our Government, and consequently those which ought to shape its Administration. I will compress them within the narrowest compass they will bear, stating the general principle, but not all its limitations. Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political; peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none; the support of the State governments in all their rights, as the most competent administrations for our domestic concerns and the surest bulwarks against antirepublican tendencies; the preservation of the General Government in its whole constitutional vigor, as the sheet anchor of our peace at home and safety abroad; a jealous care of the right of election by the people -- a mild and safe corrective of abuses which are lopped by the sword of revolution where peaceable remedies are unprovided; absolute acquiescence in the decisions of the majority, the vital principle of republics, from which is no appeal but to force, the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism; a well-disciplined militia, our best reliance in peace and for the first moments of war till regulars may relieve them; the supremacy of the civil over the military authority; economy in the public expense, that labor may be lightly burthened; the honest payment of our debts and sacred preservation of the public faith; encouragement of agriculture, and of commerce as its handmaid; the diffusion of information and arraignment of all abuses at the bar of the public reason; freedom of religion; freedom of the press, and freedom of person under the protection of the habeas corpus, and trial by juries impartially selected. These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety.

...............

I would like to add, for no particular reason; The American dream is still very much alive despite the likes of Bernie, Donald, Hillary, or Ted. There is a reason I put them in that order although I guess you could swap the last two.

Why not Bernie? very simple, he want's to take away my freedom.

The quote you posted sounds like a speech given from a politician from a podium. But, the thing is if I understand it correctly, then how does it not relate to all countries in the free world? Yes, all those pesky social democratic ones in the world that you despise and think are taking away freedom from their citizens seems to work like that.

How would Bernie be taking away your freedom? How? Not be able to laugh at people that are in distress and cant afford to get help? Because nothing else would change for you.

The "speech" of yours is not how you have conveyed your self to me at all.

If I have understood it correctly you even state that you do not agree with all those military interventions, but you have said in this thread to others that people that do not support the armed interventions are against the serving soldiers? I think it was you that pointed that fact out.

To me, it seems that you do not know what you actually want and seems to be content with how things are run in your country right now.

The quote is from Jefferson's inauguration, there should be no worry about another countries business. Not hard to understand really.

Bernie takes away freedom simply by the points I made about him earlier, I could find them after I post.

Sorry if you don't understand me, to make it even more confusing I was in support of Gaddafi in many aspects even though he was a horrid man, I don't think we had any right to get rid of him.

Because we have our thumbs so deep in the pie we can't simply pull it out, I support our troops and their cause 100 percent until we can figure out a better way to get along with other nations as Jefferson intended.

I know exactly what I want, our country is not run so great at the moment, I have faith in leaders but I have more faith in our law, I want it to be restored. It's going to take a very long time, I'm telling you that I am not willing to bow down to some socialists as I feel they have nothing to offer compared to our fathers.

It is not confusing, I am not contradictory or any of that. We'll figure it out without Bernie.

Those who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither.

I'm taking it as Bernie supporting taxation for services not used as Famine pointed out, he's against property ownership yet owns some, he want's to punish success, and I'm sure he'd like to take our guns away.

Social Democracy = FREEDOM!

This should suffice.
