I have been analyzing the screenshots and the amount of detail PD has put into the game is simply incredible!!!

Take this shot for Example
GT5.jpg

Look at the skyscraper on the left. PD freaking modeled the staircase in the building!!! That shows true dedication to the work that they do. Maybe they are a little obsessed, but that will make for an incredibly realistic experience on our parts. The ads are pretty cool also. I really hope Maserati will be in the game. The Palzileri Menswear thing made me laugh a little because of Menswear having nothing to do with racing... The clouds make it look awesome also. I am guessing they wouldn't put all of the detail in the clouds though unless the weather can be changed...

Well, at least we know that they havent been sitting on their butts for 5 years...

If you want, you can post your impressions on the many screenshots here...

It does look bloody amazing. I am looking forward to this game so much. If I will get different weather/light on all tracks, dynamic or not, I will ****, in my pants.

Being honest, such details like those stair and the bike are ultimately pointless. Such static things add nothing to the atmosphere. Where are the animated, context-sensitive crowds? The wind blowing leaves around? The trees swaying? Litter getting blown around? Persistent skid marks? None of it is present.

Trees do sway in GT... I have noticed that... So you are saying you would rather ddrive in a lifeless environment, rather than an ultrarealistic environment? PD strives for realism and to achieve that, they want to provide the most realistic environment in a racing game...

The trees do sway. You can't see it here because it's a still photograph ;) I've seen a flock of birds flying over Nurburgring too.

This makes we wish for one of two things:

1. PD gets satisfied with graphics and never devotes time to it again.

2. PD gets 100% realistic graphics and never devotes time to it again.

Whatever comes first.

Which it has. The physics for GTPSP are incredible... BETTER than GT5P even! also there will be mechanical damage on all cars. Possibly visual damage...

Maybe we are close to that, hopefully, at least close to diminishing returns. But PD always finds ways to make our jaws drop. So who knows what to expect from them.

Top right are Bentley and Maserati posters

DUN DUN DUN.....Could this mean they will make a appearance in the game or is this just PD's great attention to detail in including posters of cars which arent even in GT5.

That finding was as great as the details on the game 👍.

Neither the logos, nor the pictures of the cars can be used in-game without consent from Bentley, or Maserati's permission. I'd say its one of the little hints PD likes to leave lying around...

No way are those posters on that building together like that in real life. PD put them there, and I can't imagine why they'd make up ads like that for cars that aren't in the game. Nice :d

Yup, I'd say it's a hint to. Remember the gamescon video of the "damage" :)

They are, read the Maserati in GT5 thread and there's a real life picture of that location. Or you could just find that spot on Googlemaps, it's easy to rind, you just look for R246.

The posters are there in GT PSP as well and PD did have to get permission to put them there as evidenced by the Maserati licensing mentioned, but there are no no Maserati cars to drive in GT PSP.

Maserati could be in GT5, it wouldn't suprise me, they're popping up in a lot of games these days. But thoes posters are no real clue when they're really there in real life.

Read your question again, it makes no sense... Yeah, of course I'd rather have a lifeless environment, that's why I'm questioning the lack of stuff that would give it life...

PD can make the building and textures look as realistic as they like. It counts for squat if the environment itself is sterile.

Have you driven on the Eiger in GT5P? In all honesty, GT feels more lifelike than other racing games. Also if footage PD has given us, it will be a lot better...

Wow, I stand corrected. They look so similar, just like something PD might mock-up.

Actually, they are.

Probably, but the posters are there ingame because that building is a Maserati dealer in real life (lower floor atleast), in google street view you can see right in the front window.

After playing Shift for the last week, I raced at Daytona 800PP last night. The feeling of "attachment to the road" was the first thing that I noticed going into turn 1 on the first lap. "Accuracy" was the next sensation.

Your post confuses me...
